I had an Apple IIGS Woz limited edition back in the 80s. Its main purpose was to play Lode Runner, Ultima V and Castle Wolfenstein along with whatever I could copy from my friends. It was a ridiculously expensive game console, basically. I sold it in the 90s but I sometimes wonder what that Woz edition would be worth today. Probably not enough to have to store that boat anchor for all those years.

How close was that giant landslide in southern NZ to you? I saw the video and was completely stunned at the size of it.

About an hour & a half away. But it was the wildest weekend of weather I've seen in a long time. Torrential rain all weekend - so all the rivers nearly flooded (most towns in the South Island are built beside rivers).

It started off at 5pm on Friday with a 14 hour continuous lightning/thunder show. It was too loud to sleep through, so I just enjoyed it It was impressive as hell to watch and hear.

My final FT delivery made it to NZ and is on its way down to me - I forgot what it was but it is more NarCa RDAs, drip tips and wire

Morning all!

I should be getting some stuff from fasttech today, and hopefully my yarn as well. Looks like it’s going to rain all day - which is fine. Don’t have to shovel rain. I need to do some atty maintenance, and get some embroidery done for Xmas gifts. This is one I did, and I have a few more cute sayings that I want to put on hand towels. I don’t digitize these -yet- but the files are cheap to buy.

@charlie1465, nothing worse than a HDD dying. I hate Seagate for that reason, Western Digital are so much better as they tend to have a lower failure rate.

I hope you won't think less of me, but I've found Win 10 pretty stable and headache free. I'm running it on both a pretty decent gaming box and a mainstream midrange laptop and have had no issues with driver updates or instability at all. Granted, anything is better than Win 8 (I only toyed with it, and after a very short time decided Win 7 it was until something decent came out) but I can't knock the OS. I've also not noticed any performance hits associated with it so long as my video drivers remain current, and no headaches on general use, including some less stressful gaming but occasionally some demanding photo work on the laptop. Granted, SSDs in both, and of all the hardware choices that can improve performance and user experience, I still find an SSD more important than a CPU that's "12% faster". With Win 10 it's almost like "instant on" from hitting the power button.

I've been thinking about SSD. How hard is it to convert to SSD and copy everything over? I see a lot of comments about using a small SSD just for the OS. Is that what you did?

That's a really good price. I have a couple SXK NarEA's. They're serious lil flavor machines.

My Christmas shopping was done a long time ago. I am still ordering online because I hate the stores and needed bulk coffee pods and pet food/gear.
