just when i taught i was out____!

The thing with coils is actually making the wire into a coil is dead simple. That’s why working off a spool or shots of your own made coils are preferable. You can wrap any ID you want and as many wraps as you want. No need to buy all sorts of different sizes and wraps. The coiling is the easy part. It’s the wicking that takes some practice learning.

I coil like a champ honestly. I can even just make a totally even spaced coil on whatever round surface you hand me. It's actually easier for me to make a spaced coil and smush it, to get a non-spaced coiil. I have a fine motor tremor. To be fair it has improved.

However, I think it is more to do with my grandmother teaching me how to knit when I was 3. I can knit you anything you want and it will look as if made by a machine. Something to do with even tension on the wire translated from even tension on the wool.

I am great at blankets. I have fun with them but I haven't been knitting lately.

Wicking was definitely harder, although my first coiling attempt my husband was disgusted with them and just freaking TOOK one, uncoilled it, and then coiled it correctly and was like, "There." I did want to smack him, a bit.

But hey just buy a BUNCH of coils seriously it's not like you need the expensive ones and whatever you get, just don't get too many (unless it's from fasttech and you can get 100 for 5 bucks) but like... Do you have some aversion to coiling? Prebuilts can be easier. If I could find and buy the fumytech coils that come with the Rose V3, I would buy like, 800 of them. They are my favorite coils in the world.

Hey, I should ask the fumytech guys. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Etc.

I've never heard of that. I'll definitely check into it. Is there any brands you can recommend ?

I know Mohawk makes some good brass lacquers. I think even Minwax has something. It’s not a permanent fix, but it helps a lot. If you get any tarnishing around where it gets worn off by handling, you can strip it off, repolish, buff, and reapply.

I’ve never used it on a mod, but it works well on other brass fixtures I’ve worked with.

thanks for response, and my forthcoming cut in your wins i assume :)
i've found some actually, but not thru searching the size... i've gone through a couple hundred...
if it's not too much trouble:
I what pre-built kanthal me first mine

I found some. But first, this site here:
FTDB - The FastTech Tech Specs Database
is a FT database that is easier to search in. For your 3mm or 3.5mm id pre-coiled coils try adding this into the tabs:
Under Depth: select 3mm and 3.5mm
In the Search box use the word: pre-coiled
and the results should mainly be the right id coils.

    Here's some ideas:
    https://www.fasttech.com/products/9658289
Plain 26g ni80 single wire coil 3mm id

    https://www.fasttech.com/products/9660666
(technically it's just a clapton, not a fused - Wotofo didn't get that memo ;)

    fused clapton

I received my <clone> SQuape Seven (22mm single coil) about a week ago with the Hussar v2.
    View attachment 860429
The dual AF goes from a pretty airy 2 x 4mm RDL/DL down to a separate 2 x 1mm airflow setting for a proper tight MTL. Like so in this pic from the SQuape site...
    View attachment 860431
Once you rotate the top cap over to the MTL setting the DL AF is completely closed off. The AF is angled downwards. It has excellent flavor and is easy to build on. Heat is dissipated by an additional PMMA black, or the included clear, top cap that you just press fit on top on the SS top cap. The deck has a black pin installed so the top cap will only move within the AF range. The top cap has two notches inside for the pin.

It has a two piece 510 pin with a tiny blind pin pre-installed in it. I almost lost mine, good thing Dog pointed it out on the floor before Cat got to it. Remove it and squonk away. I cannot tell if the clone deck is made of ematalised aluminium like the OG. 2Fdeal, in their description, says the deck uses non-conductive components to avoid short circuits. So it is likely YFTK used something similar. YFTK did a real good job with the Seven.

The Seven is very much like the Hussar v2 and BioChip RDA's with a smaller area between the posts for the coil. A 3mm ID clapton is as far as I would go. I have an AVS 26/30 316L 2.5mm ID clapton at 0.4 ohms installed. My coil is slightly raised above the deck notches so the AF is hitting the bottom third of my coil (sweet spot). SQuape recommends resistances in the 0.3 to 1.8 ohm range. Some YT-ers, and other reviewers, have built lower.

I've used it wide open, to a more restricted DL and on the MTL setting. Doesn't matter where I set the AF the Seven offers a great vape. The MTL setting is awesome if you like a tight MTL draw. It works fine on a squonker, no issues. Like the Hussar RDA's it is a very condensed flavorful vape. @AngeNZ the Seven airflow is like the KRMA, Hussar v1 or NarEA (likely CA too). You would like it. ;)

SQuape designed it to be a BF RDA but you can drip with it. You'll just be adding juice every couple pulls, depending.

I got mine from 2Fdeal. YFTK SQ Seven 22mm Style RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer w/BF Pin - Silver

My preferences are definitely for RDAs that work best with small id coils. This looks like another one I'd love

....! I just ordered the SXK Hussar 2 RDA and some wire from FT. And I'm not ordering anything else for the rest of the year! ;)

There must be something not making a proper contact somewhere. That mod should hit hard.
I assume because it’s not copper. But I’ve taken it apart and cleaned it many times. But even 26 gauge stainless steel wire doesn’t give me the vape I desire. I figured it’s because it’s not copper or brass construction and perhaps the firing pin is not silver plated or copper
