Posted on my home forum, where my madness is better known

Having usual coffee with mates on Tuesday

I just want the record to show that im being socially responsible by not buying masks so that Crispin and i can wear matching ones as a gag

Thats right, im giving up laughs and hijinx folks, thats like 1,000,000 rolls of TP, which when the economy crashes, will become our new currency

Used TP worth only half the face value....

And who is Crispin i hear you ask? Well he is this 49 year old aspies companion Teddy Bear. A few years ago for ....s and giggles, and looking back on my childhood which wasnt normal, i decided i hadnt had a childhood and decided to get a Teddy Bear at the ripe old age of 45. I took him out to my once a fortnight social outing, coffee with mates, and it sent one of them so badly sideways that of course i kept taking him to annoy my mate. They have a love/hate relationship. None more so the day i ramped up the gag by taking him along in a baby harness

n78wVdr.jpg

Note: I dont carrying him around in that normally, that was a one off gag, i will order stuff of ebay purely for one off amusement. Oh, and the baristas at the Cafe, where ive been a patron for like 20 years give me grief when i dont bring the bear....

But yeah myself and the Bear get around, initially apart from annoying my mate, i took him out and about as i felt, since i have aspergers and am not really at ease amongst the great unwashed, maybe it was their turn to feel a little uncomfortable. While sometimes its had that effect (people crossing the street to avoid me), it has largely backfired, with people initiating conversation to ask me about him....and i dont really like talking to people i dont know, which is why ive long planned to release a range of ©AspieWear T-shirts with slogans like "Feel free to ask me about my selective mutism"....or "I'm only looking at your boobs because faces confuse my people"

Bonus pic, here we are on my birthday on Bondi Beach, rather timely that just as i clicked to take the pic, the seagull landed and got into a "w t f is this?" staring contest with the bear for a full 5 minutes

Well France has gone to stage three. In only three days the infected people went from around 2500 to around 5000.

All shops non essential are shut so pharmacies, boulangeries, banks, petrol stations, supermarkets etc are still open but all others are closed.

They have asked everyone to not go out unless absolutely essential....so shopping etc.

Hopefully, the measures will help us reduce the infection rates and along with increasing herd immunity improve the situation quite quickly.

Without panicking the infection rates on this virus are scary....stay safe guys

Love it, you could sell this one. I bet NT people would buy them also. Maybe collaborate with Nathan Pyle of 'Strange Planet' for some artwork. Funny book I'd recommend reading if you haven't yet. I read it last week and got some good laughs from that.

Yeah that’s how big my yard is, too. I got lucky and found a really tiny rider so I could get it through the little gate. There’s a big gate, but it’s too heavy for me to open. Mostly it’s the trimming. It’s fenced all the way round. I can only swing a weed trimmer so much. I never did get all of that done on the same day. Heck, I just barely got it all done in one season.

This guy says he’ll even haul off all the stuff the gardener bags. I have a row of 10’ high porcupine grass about 20’ long around the pool. That’s about 15 bags full. The flower beds are usually another five bags for the spring clean up. It was taking me five trips to the dump with the pickup.

Wow! That’s a big job.

I’m still working and could not get it all done in a weekend! $60 to mow, weed eat and blow. takes him an hour and that aggravates the heck out of me lol. He’s my neighbor, has his own lawn service and takes care of many yards on our block. I weed the flower beds and dream up new projects!

there was a net preventing people from going over to the bus driver since yesterday, and i finally understood that sign that said you can't buy tickets on the bus anymore and why the driver wouldn't open the front door for me when it was too crowded for me to get in at the back___ bit odd to see the procedures to minimize contact at the scale of a little town.

On my home forum, we sometimes repurpose song lyrics for amusement, and so earlier tonight a twisted friend posted a few throwaways lines repurposing a well known song, here, - I Was Only 19, by an Aussie band called RedGum, a song about the Vietnam War) to reference Covid-19, and that was enough for me, after giggling at his few lines i dug into it, and so did he.

To be clear we're irreverently using the sing to poke fun at the complete overreaction and panick buying. Especially TP....

So we each in pretty quick time rewrote a few verses each, not really intending to rewrite the entire song, but you never know....

Edit/Update: We knocked out the remaining verses this morning, all 9 verses complete

But for now at least we rewrote the 1st, 2nd and second to last and last verses....

The original lyrics are in white, our replacements in orange following the verses we rewrote

Note: Theres a lot of Aussie place names in the first verse (both original and rewritten) - yes Puckapunyal is a real place name, its the main Army training facility, and i once went through it myself when i was 17. So Puckapunyal, Canungra, Shoalwater, Frankston, Mordialloc, Cheltenham and Moorabin are place names.

ALDI, Coles and Woolies (Woolworths) are supermarkets....

You should first watch this video to get the feel of the song

    Then click the spoiler below

Mum and dad and Danny saw the passing out parade at Puckapunyal
It was a long march from cadets
The sixth battalion was the next to tour and it was me who drew the card
We did Canungra and Shoalwater before we left

Mum n Dad n Denny saw the bogroll passing out at Frankston Aldi
It was a long march from Sunbury Coles...
The pasta and the rice were the next to go and it was me who drew the card
We did Cheltenham and Mordialloc before we left

And Townsville lined the footpaths as we marched down to the quay
This clipping from the paper shows us young and strong and clean
And there's me in me slouch hat with me SLR and greens
    God help me
    I was only nineteen

And people lined the footpaths as we marched down to the store
This clipping from the paper shows us young and buying more
And there's me on me couch sat with me TP stash and beans
    God help me
    It was COVID-19

From Vung Tau riding Chinooks to the dust at Nui Dat
I'd been in and out of choppers now for months
And we made our tents a home, V.B. and pinups on the lockers
And an Asian orange sunset through the scrub

From St Kilda riding Ubers to the sand at East Geelong
I'd been in and out of rideshares now for months
And did our best at home, with bottled water and jatz crackers
And an Asian 2 minute noodle on the stove

And can you tell me, doctor, why I still can't get to sleep?
And night time's just a jungle dark and a barking M.16?
And what's this rash that comes and goes, can you tell me what it means?
    God help me
    I was only nineteen

And can you tell me, doctor, why I still can't get to sleep?
And night time's just a jumble - dreams of rice and lush TP?
And what's this rash that comes and goes, can you tell me what it means?
    God help me
    It was COVID-19

A four week operation, when each step can mean your last one on two legs
It was a war within yourself
But you wouldn't let your mates down 'til they had you dusted off
So you closed your eyes and thought about somethin' else

A four week city lockdown, when each shop can mean your last one on two rolls
    Shopping a store within yourself
But you couldn't wipe your .... down 'til they had your cart checked off
So you squeezed your cheeks and thought about somethin' else

And then someone yelled out contact, and the bloke behind me swore
We hooked in there for hours, then a God almighty roar
And Frankie kicked a mine the day that mankind kicked the moon
    God help me
He was goin' home in June

And then someone yelled out 2 Ply, and the bloke behind me swore
We pushed and we stampeded, and we thought there'd be no more
But Frankie missed the line, the day that we all filled the room
    God help me
    He didnt .... till June

And I can still see Frankie, drinkin' tinnies in the Grand Hotel
On a thirty-six hour rec. leave in Vung Tau
And I can still hear Frankie, lying screaming in the jungle
'Til the morphine came and killed the bloody row

And I can still see Frankie, pushin' trolleys full of nothing
They were empty, of that there is no doubt
And I can still hear Frankie, lying screaming in the TP aisle
'Til the support team came and threw the bugger out

And the Anzac legends didn't mention mud and blood and tears
And the stories that my father told me never seemed quite real
I caught some pieces in my back that I didn't even feel
    God help me
    I was only nineteen

And the Aussie legends didn't mention shops and blood and tears
And the stories of the blokes in Woolies never seemed quite real
I caught a metal trolley in my back that I didn't even feel
    God help me.
    It was COVID-19

And can you tell me, doctor, why I still can't get to sleep?
And why the Channel Seven chopper chills me to my feet?
And what's this rash that comes and goes
Can you tell me what it means?
    God help me
    I was only nineteen

And can you tell me, doctor, why I still can't get to sleep?
And why the mention of Sorbent 4 ply chills me to my feet?
And what's this .... rash that comes and goes
Can you tell me what it means?
    God help me
    It was COVID-19

The warning exists because while 2FDeals initial partner YUN Express can probably get the gear into australia in good time, once it gets here, they partner with Fastway Couriers, which has a 100% fail rate delivering to me, and a pretty shoddy rating with a LOT of other people. They have lied about every part of every delivery to me. I live about 4k from the airport in Newtown, on a one way street, but Fastway thinks thats too hard, so they list on tracking that its delivered. Then you go and ask the building manager and all your neighbours where the package is, only to find when you get back to your unit that the tracking has changed to "delivered calling card", instructing you to pick the package up, and a blank address. So you know from your previous trip that thats not even true, because no such card was ever left. Then you email Fastway asking them whats going on and they tell you theyre looking into it. Then 4 days go by and your neighbour from around the corner, not on a one way street, comes down and gives the building manager the mysterious calling card...the driver has done a dump and run with it.

So you look at the card and its blank, no tracking number, no address on where to pick your item up. So with no response from Fastway to your earlier email, you send another and wait another 3 days until they tell you its in a phone shop 3 kilometres away, in the wrong direction.

That was the first experience a few months ago.

Then i had another 3 orders suffer the same fate

But it was rinse and repeat when my order from 2FDeal came via them, except that the calling card was NEVER delivered (even 4 days later, or even 3 weeks later, to the wrong address, dump and run) and Fastway were even more hopeless.

I asked them to deliver it, they refused. They were asked by 2FDeal to please deliver it and refused, telling 2FDeal that i would have to come and collect it as delivery to my area was impossible as there was a "service restriction"...im on the fringe of Sydneys largest capital city ffs, not the outback...and 4k from where they picked it up, and then took it past me....in the wrong direction. Theyre just lazy lying ....s

So as long as youre okay with running around after Fastway and not adverse the travelling to a "collection partner" meaning a mobile phone shop or newsagency kilometres away, instead of getting it delivered to your door, you know, like you paid for, go ahead...

Didnt help that the rep from 2FDeal on here basically called me a liar on top of everything, in the end asserting they'd refunded me (which i ha dot back them into doing under the 30 days they were going to make me wait) but i still had the "calling card" and was going to scam them by picking it up. My top tip dealing with 2FDeal, do it via email, you'll likely get Olivia, who is professional and not a d'head like the rep on here...who got a talking to after his posts to me on here. from Olivia :) His backhanded apology (if you can call it that) is on here somewhere

Now im waiting on the same order from Fasttech, should be leaving on the 20th (they had to wait on restocks of some items and last item, the Ulton Tripod RTA is in that day), with any luck it will arrive in a timely fashion, and ill get it a month and a half after i should have had it via 2FDeal....say what you want about FastTech, but they usually get stuff delivered in a pretty timely manner to me.
Who needs the aggravation? Thanks for the heads up.

    Good morning Shiny's
Well the virus is about 80-90 miles up the road creeping down south to us. Packaged meat is getting scarce in the stores that carry good products.
We had a run on grocery stores here. One of our Costcos made national news. I went and stocked up on food on Friday morning. Good thing I did; by Friday night moat places were cleaned out. I wasn't going to stoxkpile as much as I did but figured I had better because the way people are hoarding, we wouldn't be able to get anything later.

I just want to vent I'm a very anxious person so I'm used to anxiety but for some reason Vape mail anxiety just really usually sets me over the edge. I have a package that was shipped from California on the 10th I know that's not that long ago but it was actually in the postman's hands on the 10th. It was supposed to be here on Wednesday it's not here and it hasn't been to a scanning facility since the tenth... it's priority shipping and through this one company their priority shipping from the minute it gets in the post man's hands takes so much longer than everyone elses first class. I wonder if coronavirus is slowing the mail down.. I guess on Monday I will contact my local office see if maybe they can locate it because it was supposed to be here Wednesday it's been a little while longer than it should have been and it hasn't even reached any post offices in the entire time it's been shipped which really blows my mind or at least hasn't been scanned

    goodbye
    good morning2.gif
friends! Hoping everyone is safe and healthy today.

About a month ago, I ordered an rba for one of my AIO's from Sourcemore. Took about two weeks for it to finally ship. Then it sat in the dispatch center for another 6 days. Finally gets to Los Angeles usps a few days ago and has been sitting there. Yesterday, I get these. How on earth does a package leave the same usps center twice on the same day?

    "Hello Rob Bond,

Your item departed our USPS facility in LOS ANGELES CA INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER on March 14, 2020 at 8:52 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

    and then later...

    "Hello Rob Bond,

Your item departed our USPS facility in LOS ANGELES CA INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER on March 14, 2020 at 7:05 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

And still no :censored: delivery date.o_O:mad::-x:nah: Ordered the same rba plus some replacement coils from FT on 1/28/2020, and still no movement at all from them. Sent them an email 5 days ago and still no response.

    Morning all!

DIL wants me to watch the kids a few days. They are ALL picky eaters, which normally I don’t mind, but I don’t have anything in the house they’ll eat.

I told her, bring groceries- I’ll pay for them, but I do not have the energy to face the crowds for them lol.
