I love Golden Crumpets, I thought they were made here in NZ, by Tip Top, maybe not. Anyway have you seen the new thinner ones they are making? Dumb idea I reckon, as it is the yummy butter I slather on them goes straight through to the plate.Don't need them thinner:D @Doffy

Anything to report, @NolaMel ? It's tomorrow. :)
A marginal early report. Mail came late, so I opted to build the Ares 2 first.
Put in a 3mm 0.7 coil with cotton (I’ll replace that tomorrow, it’s a touch raspy) and a fabulous dt. My take so far? It’s good, not awesome great, but... decent flavor, easy to build (except the grub screws that didn’t want to stay in place at first). It’s not super thirsty. Doesn’t seem finicky about wicking. I just shoved in a bit of cotton lace that was in the front of the drawer, no leaking, no dry hits. Does it rate in my top 5? Not right now. While flavor is good, it’s not blow my socks off, slather me in yumminess flavorful. I’ll try a couple other coils and switch to rayon before I shelve it. It’s also on the edge of a hair too tight for me. I’m contemplating drilling out the af holes just a teeny bit (please no ungentle reminders of how that worked out in the past lol). I think it might benefit from a 2.5 coil maybe closer to 0.8/9 so I can drop the wattage. We’ll see how that affects flavor. If it was my first rta, I’d be thrilled with it. So, a definite yes for mtl vapers just starting to build.
Tomorrow is the Gear. I have higher hopes for it being a fit for my af/build.

TL/DR... Ares is “ok”, Gear is next on the docket!

Well, that was fun! Dinnertime in SoCal. Be well and be good.

And @Redbird11 , don't forget your Ares. The weekend has just begun, officially. :D

TTFN
I know. I actually have it drying out right now. I cleaned it up and rinsed it off. I might have to go out of town tomorrow. If I do, I will build on it Sunday. If I don't end up going, then I will probably try to get it all set up tomorrow afternoon.

Hey, good review!
Thank you!
I think you’ll have good success with the Ares. It’s really easy to build. If you want to use a different coil than the one in the box, pay attention to the direction it’s coiled for reference.

I was probably just going to start with the coil that comes with it. At least for my first build.

Good afternoon Shinies

That's a first! :D :thumb:

Possibly  I guess as long as the MTL isn't tight as gnats butthole I can RDL it :w00t:

Morning shinies ;)

I've got this no name clone:
$11.31 Tripod Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2ml / 316 stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping
I went over it in more detail in this thread - if money isn't a problem, go for the Ulton version:
$24.95 ULTON Tripod Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 2ml / stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping

There's only been 1 atty I couldn't MTL :shock:It was a Voopoo Maat tank I won, and did a review on ;)

You are officially a member of the Frankenvapers Club, congratulations

I’m looking forward to the Gear too. If it’s really good, I want to be able to grab a few more while I still can.

Hasn't the Gear been around for a couple of years? I figured all of you vaping masters would have tried it by now. Or am I thinking of a different RTA?

Oh, probably. There are sooooo many options out there, it’s hard to get one of everything. Maybe when I try it, I’ll remember why I passed on it initially.

Nice. But it's strictly a DL type of RTA right?

Kinda. Even full open af it's more of a rdtl to me compared to some of my atty's. You can dial it down to a nice loose mtl. @AngeNZ mtl's it if I'm not mistaken. The flavor and ease of build just makes it a keeper for me.
