Would you like an impartial and highly professional opinion from an audio engineer?

Hang on... I can arrange this.

Dear @Pigs your professional opinion is needed here. What say you? Does the Wang Chung music video Cloud posted have that basic disco beat going? Try to ignore the fact that they are using a disco ball and the lead singer has a mullet.
Yep I'm with Cloud and Zazie on this one.
Like Cloud said the tempo is too slow for trad disco and probably the main giveaway difference is that there's no 4 on the floor kick drum here (disco has a bass drum every 4 beats pretty much relentlessly through the whole song - think Stayin Alive, Le Freak etc).
Love the mirror ball though.

Thanks Mate. I knew I could count on you for an honest and professional assessment and opinion.

Your check will be in the mail for your consult as soon as Cloud and Zazie pony up. ;)

Last time I saw a decent mirror ball was Pink Floyd in '75.

And most importantly, I wasn't a disco fan and Wang Chung I never ever listened to. I bet Wang Chung used to play disco. :D

Since you brought up Stayin' Alive, Bruce Springsteen's is the best version I've ever heard. It's from Brisbane 2014-02-26. Crank it!!!

Yep that's the great Tom Morello on guitar.

I'd grow a beard waiting for those 2 to pony up.
I was only 9 in 1975 so missed that great era of concerts.
I was lucky enough to see Pink Floyd in concert during their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in 1987. Blew my tiny mind. I'll never forget that incredible soundscape at the Sydney Entertainment center. May have had a small herbal helper - can't remember. I do remember the giant inflated pig flying down through the air and it was also the first time we'd ever seen video synchronized to a band playing live on stage. Common fare now but revolutionary then.

Pony up for what? @Pigs agreed with me and @Zazie
So it will be I who will grow the beard waiting YOU to pony up.

On the topic of concerts.
One of my greatest regrets in life is not seeing Queen in concert.

Wish i was in the Star Trek universe,i would procure my self a Bird of Prey (Klingon ship with cloaking capabilities) and in cloak mode i would just hover above the crowd.

Date would be 1985 and i would be at the Live Aid concert in Wembley, cargo bay door open,me sitting there and taking in all of Queen's talent thru each pore of my body.

@ShowMeTwice you want epic? this is epic, bono with a broken arm so Bruce Springsteen is playing the guitar for him,he also does some singing.
Stand by me baby!!

Freddy was amazing at Live Aid !
I was also lucky enough to see U2 @ at the Chaoimh (pronounced Sheem-sah?) festival in Cork in August 1987. UB40 played support. great gig.

Would like to get hold of the Tardis and watch Queen at a pub gig before they got famous.

Afternoon shinies

Cripes I hated disco except certain classics like the freak or proper funk. If I was ever dragged to one I'd stay on the fringes trying to pretend that the smell of Nepalese temple ball was coming from somewhere else and wishing I was playing in my band or watching another local outfit or Led Zeppelin or the Who.....I miss those days....good times

Arise still in Chinese post.

@Cloud-FF7 @Zazie @Pigs @chanelvaps --- did I miss anyone?

Here is what I've learned...

It is very apparent to me that each of you paid very close, and finite, attention to the greater details of the disco period of our lives while I obviously did not (for dang freakin' good reason{s}!).

It also dawns upon me that one or two of you were either open, or closeted, fans of this era of great annoyance (to me).

I do appreciate the input from each of you in refreshing my very hazy mind of a period of time that likely should have remained buried in the bowels of nothingness.

I shall forever remain in the stream(s) of music(s) not named disco.

Thank you and I luvs ya all!

Signed,
SMT (((--- :D ---)))

PS: Vape on my sisters and brothers. May the pure white cloud be with you. Go ahead and put your fav disco tunes on, your secrets are safe with me.

PSS: Pigs, I sent your check this morning. It's on one of FT's speedy row boats. Should get there by the time your beard length reaches your knees, I think (hope).
