Yes I agree but there's a rivalry between Nikon users and Canon and you can get some much cheaper lenses for Nikon.

Poor Canon and Nikon users. :( Always fighting amongst themselves like commoners outside the castle walls. I feel bad for them as I snap away with my beautiful Fuji cameras. :D

    Morning shinies ;)

    Good morning Shiny's

Quite enjoying the Artemis rdta. Need to play around with coil height but pleased that I took a chance and already had 2 more and spare parts ordered. Dead simple to build and wick. I'll take a pic of the build when I get around to tweaking.

Awesome, it's on the list - pending pics

Nitecore charger. Does not say what the voltage is. You get either a red light (needs charged) or a green light (done charging) LG brown batteries and fairly new when I put them in the Minikin that was lost. In the upstairs bedroom where I never go and use it as an attic.

Red flashing in my nitecore usually means the battery is below 2v or whatever the safety cutoff is.

If I know the battery is OK and get that error - cleaning the contacts of the charger and/or battery will get it reading the correct voltage.

My guess would be that yours may be toast though, and I'd retire them if cleaning doesn't help.

They do make very good camera's
But for point and shoot I would go Kodak.
For me it has better instant focus characteristics. If you can find a good one as they seem to be very scarce. Fuji would be my second option.
I also don't like when you snap a photo and everything else in the photo (background) is blurred because of the lens.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I found a Miniken I lost last year and took the batteries out of it to charge it. They are in the charger correctly but it is blinking red. I have only known it to do this if they are inserted upside down. Any idea's anyone?

My guess is that the battery, little by little, discharged below 2.5v (or whatever) and actually vented, tripping the protection diaphragm in the battery. This happened to me twice when I left a battery in a mod for extended periods. The battery still discharges due to quiescent current even if the mod is turned off. The mod is not really turned off, it's in stand-by, "listening" for an instruction to turn on.

The battery cannot be charged unless that diaphragm is pushed back in. Although this can be done, it's not particularly easy nor is it safe. I did it once and I'll never do it again.

The battery is finished. Good thing is they aren't really expensive anyhow. The good thing is you found your mod!

Edited to add: Not all batteries have protection diaphragms, they have other protection mechanisms. Whatever the case, I believe it's best to discard the battery.

@ShowMeTwice and @AngeNZ could be right about the voltage. There's a few videos on YouTube on how to get the voltage back up so your charger recognise the batteries. (it sometimes work) don't do this if you're not comfortable with it. Then rather retire it.

Good to “see” you, kiddo! I’d rather have a job I love and make “enough”, than a job I hate going to and make a mint. You have to be able to love your life. Happy New Year!
I don't know--loving one's life may be the goal, but, if it were a necessity, many would be in deep trouble.

Overdischarged? (She says, undoubtedly long after more knowledgeable others have already replied.)

Okay this is weird. AVS sent an email with a sale code. So I grabbed a couple spools of wire and checked out. They mention age verification- I don’t recall them doing that before, but it has been a while. I put in my birthdate and checked out no problem. Got a confirmation, then I got an email asking for my driver’s license- and I replied just cancel the order, I’m not sending a pic of my DL.

Five minutes later I get a shipping notice. Nothing since. So I maybe bought wire, maybe didn’t.

I mean I’ve had shops ask for my DL, but when I declined, they canceled. Fair enough. Kind of weird if they ask for it then just go ahead with the order if ya tell them to pack sand. Or maybe they needed my $23 really bad. Lol.

Code is 50off if anyone is interested.

Sounds like they've drained below two watts or more. Some chargers can recover them...depends what charger you've got.

Only other thing I can think of is use a full battery to put a little bit of charge into each one and that should give them enough to start charging. Use two bits of wire negative to negative, positive to positive then leave for a few minutes, say two, then try it in the charger again. Be very careful with the positive end and make sure your bare wire is not touching anything negative.... shouldn't be if it's well wrapped.....failing that just bin them

My charger does have a recovery mode. The problem is that the charger needs to sense enough charge to trip the electronic switch to on :)

    That's my guess anyway.

That depends on your settings, with respect, if you're doing a portrait of someone that's exactly what you want but you need to go into setting to change to landscape and everything will then be in focus. If you can't do that on a camera then it's next to useless.....sorry

    Indeed.
Professional photographers will find this feature useful in a studio.
When I'm out taking photos of nature, point and shoot is the name of my game. There are moments that I want to spend setting up a camera for those beautifully focussed flower snaps. But if it's birds, animals or insects that's not sitting still. Auto focus on the fastest shutter speed works best for me.
