Finally got around to building the Axial. Decent vape but not liking the long coil legs. Can't get the top cap off the mongrel, hate messing with new rdas.
Me too - can't stand an rda with stiff top cap. I don't care how great the deck and af is, if the O-ring tolerances are crap I try one change of O-rings then shelve it.I haven’t had that issue with the axial a, but a few others give me fits. That Apocalypse is terrible- I mean I’d probably like it but The af will not adjust at all and the cap is just too tight.
Axial orings are a treat and do like the vape, af is so smooth. Just not used to coils on stilts.I haven’t had that issue with the axial a, but a few others give me fits. That Apocalypse is terrible- I mean I’d probably like it but The af will not adjust at all and the cap is just too tight.

Anyone know what I'm doing that causes a curved/kinky leg in my coils? It vapes perfectly fine, but it annoys me

My technique:
using a coilmaster winder, I do 2 or 3 extra wraps. I stretch out the coil a bit, then squish it back into place. Unhook the held leg and pull 1 or 2 wraps off to straighten it, pull 1/2 or 1 wrap off the other side.
Then I pull each leg to tighten up the wraps, stick it in the deck, and done - with a kinky leg![]()
View attachment 930753 Well I finally dug out and got to the PO. Worth the effort. I got my stuff from Sourcemore, Element, and MFS. Not all pictured here - there’s a bunch of coils and a Nord for my son still in the box.
The Thelema on top left was the one SM gave me for review so I’ll work on that this weekend. The other three, well I had a feeling I’d love this so I got those plus spare pods and the RBA and a bunch of coils.
These are beautiful, solid things. Biggish for a pod but not unpleasantly big or heavy. View attachment 930755

Fruity Little Dangers
They are very pretty! I have never used a pod system, but have thought about trying one. So, do they make rbas for pod devices? I don’t know much about them to be honest![]()
It’s becoming a lot more common to find RBAs for pods lately. And pods aren’t everybody’s thing, I’m not a huge fan myself , but they’re really convenient and inexpensive. I love all my mods and have loads of them, but I like something light weight and fuss-free for out and about. A Rda and a mech are great for sitting at home, but not convenient for dog walking.

I agree with Delores. I have heavyweight mods and tanks but when I want to dash out I grab a pod. Up until now I like the VooPoo Drag S and have a few. I also got some Thelema's and some Freemax Autpods that I am waiting to come in the mail.

Same here! My knowledge of "pods" ended in 2016 when pod to me = self contained nonrefillable internal battery throw aways. I really started to look around because of the fast approaching vape mail ban and discontinued CLR coils. I was very surprised to see RBAs for pod devices. Although I'm not too crazy about the whole plastic pod/ tank or units with internal batteries there were systems to me that were more versatile for better longevity. RBAs and external battery was a big deal for me in deciding which to buy along with ease of use and cross compatibility to something I already have and could easily obtain more of if/when needed. OH and it had to be small-ish and pretty!![]()
