Ok straw poll time:

For those of you who build your own setups (wind from spools or buy pre-wound coils but not drop -ins) roughly how long does each coil last you?

Do they last days/weeks/months ?

I stretch my dual core claptons out to at maybe a month or so.
When I wind a new coil and get that fresh blast I sometimes think I should change them more often.

any thoughts??

Weeks to months. Honestly I’ve changed more coils because I didn’t like the vape I got with a particular atty - too big? Too small? Resistance too high or low? - than I do because the coil is at the end of its lifespan.

Guess what? Was gonna refill my KFL19 and my Paramour 510 is loose again. Gee, that didn't take long.

    o_O W-T-Ferk?......:censored:ing POS

I was thinking of installing a lock washer between the 510 and the nut. Need to do some solder work in order to get a washer on the 510. Doable.

Do you recall if there is a washer installed on yours? I'm like 99.9% certain the lack of a lock washer is the problem with the 510. Design flaw.

I mentioned this in the Evolv-ing thread. BillW50 responded, besides the washer, he suggested trying some Loctite or even nail polish. I have Loctite. I'll try that first. For now the Paramour is back in its box narrowly missing the trash can on its way.

It is a way overpriced mod. And I'm also happy I got it on sale.

I agree, should be a washer on it, and no mine doesn't have one, unfortunately I don't have a solder iron, or would add one myself, but sure not going to spend extra money to buy one to fix it.

I tried a small amount of gorilla glue on it, and didn't last long, not sure loctite will work either, as the pressure you putting on it when putting tanks on and off, but let me know if it does.

Such a shame, as really does look a good mod and normally it isn't a really cheap mod.

This is one of the most ridiculous conversations we've had on this thread. What a bunch on nincompoops.
If you line up all the stuff we've been typing.... so funny. Like a bunch of drunks arguing about which side of the road to walk on. I blame you Charlie. You started it...only joking it's really all SMT's fault he he he hehe (I love my Paramour ):w00t: I'm pure as the driven snow.

    Hey I've just invented a new word (it's a habit actually) .....

Parapooping not to be confused with paragliding which is when you're so happy with your Paramour that it feels like gliding through vaper clouds and coming to a smooth landing.....and yes....with your 510 still attached :lol::lol:

Three to five months. I've been using 28 AWG kanthal, vape at 11W, and have five to six setups going.

Sorry to disagree again but mathematically speaking that doesn't prove causation only correlation....you need a much bigger sample size to say what your saying....
Of course it doesn't prove anything. Not only is the sample size too small, it's total speculation. As was your "three mods out of thousands."

So your controls do the opposite to mine.

They must have decided Northern Hemisphere water goes down the plug hole clockwise and Southern Hemisphere water goes down the plug hole anticlockwise.
I wonder what display people on the Equator got.

Anyway this is how mine is. In technicolour. Reversed.

Doesn't Jai Haze complain about the reversed buttons in the video SMT linked to?

I have enjoyed it! I had a friend, a guy, in the early 80's. He always got wasted first. And so wasted. And the rest of the night, all he would ever say is "what time is it?" head in his lap most of the time except to pop up every hour or so and say "what time is it?"

My ss coils would last up to 4-5 months easily with proper care but I usually change out within 4-5 weeks. Wicks as needed but usually every other week suffices. Just recently ordered wire to get back into hybrid coils. Seems I used to change those more often, 7-10 days maybe. Been a couple years or so.

Our controls are the same for up/down.

I just looked and Jai Haze does mention ( around 10mins in) that in menu mode the buttons are reversed.
I noticed his screen is flipped compared to mine too. So when his screen is the right way up, the fire button is to the left, for mine the fire button is to the right.
Also for mine the only time the up button is up and the down button is down is in menu select - the opposite of his.

In the youtube review by Kzor I noticed his screen orientation is the same as Jai's (opposite to mine) and he mentions the flipped buttons in menu mode around 8:20.

    Confused?

I just found another review where the guy talks about a revised edition which has vent holes in the battery cap. Mine has those.
In the revised edition the screen orientation is the opposite to the earlier edition with up and down buttons reversed in wattage mode but correct in menu select. That's how mine is so I'm guessing I have the revised edition.

He explains between 8:15 and 9 mins

It looks like Mechlyfe just physically flipped the screen 180 degrees in the revised edition. They didn't fix the issue with firmware.

So I'd be interested to know which version you Shinyitis Paramour owners have.

I have a better idea, let's get rid of any and all speculation and go with the actual known numbers that we do have.

4 are known to have seen use for an extended period of time. -- Nailz, the guy in the Picture thread, Charlie's and mine.

3 have problems 1 does not.

    What does that say?

NolaMel never really used hers. Pigs just started using his.

Surely there are more pleasant conversations to be had.

Chocolate chip cookies are good. The easter bunny was cool once upon a time.

    The sun is shining.

Shiny thread should have no conversations that go beyond peaches and cream.

    Rain should never fall.

    Everything is great, everywhere.

Last time I checked, that ain't real life.

That's bizarre because given what you've said mines the revised version but I don't have the vent holes in the battery cap...so maybe there were two revisions??
