Great point. Most companies would have released the 21700 version.
Hey I've been thinking the only way this will work is if the walls of the 21700 battery tube are a little thinner. The way it is with the 18650 or 18350 tubes there seems to be no room for a larger outside diameter tube. What do you think?

And yes blandness cured!!
I compared the Mixx 18650 battery tube to a 21700 battery.

A 21700 is nearly the same size as the 18650 battery tube.
Mixx battery tube = 22mm / 21700 = 21mm.

The 18650 battery tube wall is 2mm thick. To fit a 21700 the new battery tube would have to be thin, as in ~1mm thin.

I have a couple, I think there just weren’t as many flavors in the line as other brands that I wanted and I just keep going with what I’m used to.
I'm somewhat the same but you are missing out a bit without flavourart. Their flavours are mostly second to none for strength and authenticity..... they're not cheap though....

I
Ok.
Everyone who has an abyss now, how are you liking them after some use.

Thinking i may suck it up and try to get one of batch 2 that should hit soon.

With the ban pending this could be it.

Thinking black with the ether and sbs kit......

Thoughts
I've just got mine and still waiting for my Ether bridge before firing it up. I'm not particularly interested in the SBS kit as it's already SBS and the whole point is that you can use most of the Billet box bridges in the supplied tank. If you are a Billet box fan....the Ether is about the only bridge that won't fit in a Boro tank but all your BB bridges will fit in the Abyss.

Hope this helps :)

I use a lot of FA flavors. FlavourArt flavors are more highly concentrated versus CAP or TFA/TPA flavors. With many of the FA flavors 2% (or less) works great. Many CAP or TFA/TPA flavors would require double that, or more, to equal the same potency.

Good morning Folks. :D

I received my 2nd Dovpo College SbS dna 60 yesterday. Now the children, Arise and little Dvarw, don't have to fight for a spot anymore. They each have their own. However there were some murmurings about who got which color. Little Dvarw likes to pick fights (you know, height challenged). The Arise, ummm yeah, is much more mature. Kids and Colleges. ;)

Hope y'all enjoy a great day!

Agreed and most Inawera flavours are the same...strong potency at lower percentages.
It's annoying when you've got to put so much flavour in that you keep having to buy more all the time so both Inawera and flavourart are well worth the extra cost.

I really don't use many CAP or TFA/TPA flavors anymore. Only a few. Most I gave to my younger brother when I helped him get going with DIY. I prefer FA, FLV, MF, INW, SSA, VT and WF (+SC) along with a couple others. Those are more highly concentrated as well. Especially the MF flavors. MF's are the most highly concentrated that I know of. A couple of my recipes using MF flavors don't exceed 3% total flavoring. And those are easily just as potent as some juices that contain well over 15% total flavoring. I have one single flavor MF recipe that is 0.5% total (Peach) and full flavor! :)

FWIW...

MF = Medicine Flower

Culinary Flavors

MF flavors are expensive. However, a bottle lasts a long time when you consider that you are using very little in a mix. I've ordered from them direct. Also bought some from River Supply when they had them on sale. They have many really good flavors. All the ones I've tried are very accurate.

It's an interesting one.
The battery numbers are codes to their sizes and shapes.
So an 18650 battery is 18mm in diameter and 65mm tall. The 0 at the end signifies the tubular shape.
A 21700 is 21mm in diameter and 70mm tall.
Same rule applies to 18350, 18490, 20650, 20700 etc.

So if the 18650 Mixx battery tube is already a tight fit in it's housing, then the external diameter of the new 21700 tube can't be any greater.
The only place they can make up the extra 3mm is by decreasing the wall thickness.

Some battery manufacturers cheat a bit by not stick exactly to the designated sizes but they'll all pretty close.

After the mail ban when shiny is hard to come by, I may explore their flavors. I’ll have to clean out the cubby though, I have about 300 flavors in there now. I used to experiment all the time, I just kind of got out of the habit.

I like INW. They’re very realistic, and that can be good or bad. If you want it to taste just like the real thing, fine, but sometimes you want a blueberry to taste like blueberry does in a candy or muffin. I have a hard time making some of them not taste so literal.

Everyone tastes stuff differently, and there have been a lot of things I can’t taste at all - I cannot taste pomegranate or tea flavors no matter the brands. And stuff that other people say is strong may not be strong at all to me.

Agreed....they are chemicals mostly so they effect everyone differently. I appear to be one of those people that can't taste strawberry although I've heard that a touch of strawberry taffy can work....I must try it sometime.

I'm mostly into real tasting stuff...not a fan of artificial tasting things at all.

What are the negatives of having a thinner battery tube?
I don't know that there are any negatives. The current 18650 Mixx battery tube is pretty heavy duty. I like its 2mm thickness. If the new 21700 battery tube is ~1mm or less it may feel, IDK, somehow cheaper, or of lesser quality, if that makes sense. It's going to be a tight fit for sure. I will pass.

Hi Zazie
It depends how thick it is in the first place but as @ShowMeTwice said the Mixx tube has only 2mm to play with although I've noticed that there is some play with an 18650 so maybe it's not so much of a big deal. We certainly all don't want to end up with a colossal problem :)

I've tried nearly all the strawberry flavors. My favorite for realism, before MF's, was FA Strawberry (Red Touch) at 3-3.5% mixed with FA Juicy Strawberry at 1.75-2.5%. Combined they were very realistic, nothing artificial.

On ELR there were some folks who couldn't taste strawberry using the s-berry flavors most use in DIY. A few of those tried MF Strawberry, discovered they could taste s-berry again and really like it.

MF Strawberry is the most realistic IMO. It tastes like a juicy ripe California strawberry. I'm planning on doing a mix with MF and the two FA s-berries. It'll be a very simple 4 flavor mix with FLV Cream, as a test. Then I'll likely add either a cake or cookie flavor for a foundation. FW Yogurt would also work well for separate recipe.

:)

I suppose since it’s just a metal tube, it won’t pose a shipping problem after the ban kicks in. I’ll wait then if you think it’s iffy for fitting. It def would be nice to have the Mixx take a 21700. Fingers crossed!!

I’m loving the MF I have. Have you tried the dark chocolate? I need to sft it it first, but I was toying around in my head with that plus MF butterscotch and caramel, LB ice cream, a nut ( INW mixed nut???) and something for a cone for a Nutty Buddy kind of vibe.

We should know soon enough. The Aspire store said it will be on-sale later this month. I'm looking forward to seeing what people have to say.
