Never realized before how much Frank Zappa resembled an old boyfriend of mine. Right down to the great nose.

Never saw that video before. Norman can play! I saw Zappa more times than I would care to say. The man was a true genius IMHO. Super intelligent. Fantastic musician who was on a level most could never understand. Taken way too soon.Speaking of Zappa -
Thanks SMT ! I'll check those out for sure. He was a real musician's musician. A famously hard task master to his band members who never settled for second best.Never saw that video before. Check out his concert recording called FZ:OZ. I'm certain it's up on YouTube. It was recorded at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney 1976-01-20. Listen to his guitar playing on the instrumental Black Napkins, he just kills it. That entire concert is excellent. I have everything ever put out by Zappa as well as the posthumous releases from the Family Trust.
Thanks for sharing.
ETA: There are 2 better versions of Black Napkins. One is on "Chicago '78" and the other is on "Philly '76". YouTube
There's an in joke at the end of their Jam. The Norman Gunston show was broadcast on the ABC and the melody that Norman Gunston (Gary MacDonald) plays right at the end is the famous ABC news theme.Norman can play!

Ahh the glory days of trucking. Unfortunately it isn’t like that anymore. It’s still a great living if you don’t mind the sacrifice of being away from the family for extended time. With the government mandates ‘ go figure ‘ and all these mega companies of today those days are gone. I miss riding with my stepdad when I was a kid and it was similar to what you see in the movies. We often blast it in the car stereo on the morning drive to school. Even watched the movie for a laugh the other night. Kristofferson so cool.
Nude NicotineI keep getting this creeping feeling that I should try to source a bottle of nic from somewhere in case this shipping crisis forces me to finally try my hand at DIY. I've heard that a few big vendors are working on alternate shipping plans and I'll pay extra for that or try to order through a local brick and mortar if need be, but having the DIY supplies on hand might not be a bad idea.
What kind of nic would you DIYing shinies recommend? Like a pg/vg base that's pre-measured for 3mg or something I need to measure myself? I have a basic grasp of mixing from past research and I assume flavors will still be available but it's the bottle of nic I'm not sure of.
me too! I always bought 100mg in VG but recently went with 50/50I buy mine 100% vg 100 mg/ml. The vg is not a popular choice being harder to pour but I prefer it.
You can get higher than 100 mg, but 100 is easiest to find. There’s no benefit to getting lower, it just takes up more space.
we can assist if you need with calculators and whatever.
Tired of my job in 2004, I let an old boyfriend talk me into going to truck driving school and riding with him as team drivers. I already had my class B license but needed class A. I got it and got on the truck with him. It lasted about one week before a major fight. Two more weeks of many fights. One can sure get on another person's nerves in that tiny space. I was across the country when I decided I was through but did the rest of the work getting back so I could get paid. Because I had gone to the trouble of getting the license I went and found a job on a truck on my own. I hated it. I was always late. Any break I had I was trying to get my log book to justify and never got a nap. I asked a couple of older truckers at stops "tell me what I am missing about this job that I know some people love"Ahh the glory days of trucking. Unfortunately it isn’t like that anymore. It’s definitely not for everyone. I grew up around it and I guess it’s kinda in my blood. Nowadays we have computers in the cab that tell us when we should eat, sleep, go to the bathroom etc etc. When you’re not sleepy or tired you have to try to sleep at times and when you’re so tired it’s tough to keep your eyes open you sometimes have to roll to make the pickup or delivery. It’s not always like that but it is at times. Gosh I haven’t seen a logbook in almost 3 years lol. Definitely to much government control.Tired of my job in 2004, I let an old boyfriend talk me into going to truck driving school and riding with him as team drivers. They said the same thing you just said. Too much gov interference took it from being a good job to being a hard one. I had a home and missed my home. I was always afraid the truck would be on fire and I would not know it. I was always tired and when I finally did get to sleep some and then woke up, I was sure I must have side-swiped a few cars before I stopped to sleep. Nothing fun about it at all for me. I went back to my old job.
Cool. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I have a liter of nic and a DIY kit on the way. I'll worry about flavors and recipes if it ever comes to that![]()
Very nice. But would it kill you to post some ugly pictures of New Zealand? Your photos keep making me want to move there. The results from yesterday's frozen fingers:
