Gemma does look like she’s giving you a snarky side-eye there. I’ll take a couple loppy eared lambs pretty please

Looks like dollar weed to me. Hard to get rid of
My local weed enthusiast called it wild mallow, native to these parts. It’s not hard to kill, a little weed and feed will do it. I have a little of it all over, but it’s really dense right there because that shrub was way overgrown. I just cut about 1/3 of it off yesterday, and most of the weed was growing under it. It seems to like the shade and damp.
Tomorrow I shall post pictures of where my grass is actually grass lol. It’s just been 4 weeks since I did any work out there, it gets way out of hand fast.

Nah, I'll just continue to let everything run rampant except for a few paths. Between my unruly yard and my empty driveway (I have no car), people are always assuming my house is uninhabited.
Too late. Bludger already set sail in his ship with a tin of lime green paint. Expect him soon.

Yep I love this Z 80 mod...wonderful hand feel. I suspect i'll be getting more of them. I'll play with it over the weekend...when i'm lying low by the sea side :D

On the grass/weed front...i'm soooo over manicuring grass. I've basically stopped moving the back lawn. I have planted 5 fruit trees around the centre and been leaving the grass to go wild....but it's still just long grass. I do cut the perimeter, but that kinda looks funny.
Come this spring all grass back there is going. I'm going to replace everything with wild flowers. I'm ordering the seeds next week...beneficial insect blend, butterfly blend, low grass blend, pollinator blend and roadside blend....turn the whole back yard into a insect reserve
As for the front lawn...well i'm still in the competition with the neighborhood...but I hate that

I only have a front lawn that's 50% dandelions. Other than keeping it short so the neighbors don't complain to my landlord, I don't really care. I got a nice self propelled Honda push mower that I bought at a pawn shop. It runs just like I had bought it new. I need to get up early tomorrow morning and mow. Ugh!

He can use it to paint the trim on my house. Green is a little gaudy, but the job needs doing, and, with his trunk, he could manage it in no time.

I just mowed earlier. My yard is so small it only takes 30-40 minutes with a self propelled mower.

Dollar weed pops up in the spring here. Heat kills it off, but the runners live on to appear again when Fall temps get less sweltering. It’s green, so I don’t fight it.

Don't kill that dollarweed--eat it. Supposedly it tastes a bit like cucumber (or celery, or parsley, depending on the source) and is good raw, in salads, or cooked, in stir-fries, soups, and stews.

I'm skeptical of the claim that eating three or four dollarweed leaves a day "will keep you sharp, alert, and improve your memory." No harm in trying, though. The worst that will happen is you'll get a few minerals and B vitamins.

what kind of Hibiscus is this D?
Giant Hardy is all I know. That flower is 9” across. It looks hilarious from the street and I’ve overheard people wondering why I’d put a giant fake plant there. It’s got over 50 buds on it so it’ll be quite a show. The grandkids used to pick them and wear them like hats.

Mine takes me an hour on the rider. Dan used to do it in half that time but he had a normal sized mower. It takes me all week to weed trim the edges, if I can get out there every day. Downside of having so much fence. I had a guy doing all that the last couple years, but he hasn’t showed up once this year.

You have to share a picture when the buds all start opening. I bet it’s spectacular!
