I see that @Doffy has answered that on the money.

I know people all over the world keep Australian parrots of various types in cages - the cockatiel a case in point - but if they ever saw them in the wild they may re-think that. These birds need large social groups to thrive and travel great distances in their natural state. To keep a bird like that in a cage or even "free" in an indoor setting (usually with wings clipped) is cruel.
Budgies are another great example. They are also parrots native to inland Australia. I've been lucky enough to see vast clouds of them in the outback.
Just last Easter I was sitting quietly alone in favourite spot in far NW NSW (very remote - nearest neighbour about 30KM away), when a small family group of about 50 budgies buzzed down and had a drink at the gilgai (watering hole) not twenty feet away. I sat perfectly still in the shade and watched them drink and noisily socialise. Colourful, clever, busy and beautiful.
Galahs live in large groups too and once they mate, like many birds they keep the same partner for life. In their case as long as 80 years. More than once I've seen the sad sight of one of a pair sitting at the side of its road-killed partner, gently nudging and cajoling the lifeless body.

Sulfur-crested cockatoos have a very large brain size/body mass ratio and are renowned for their intelligence and sense of fun. Watching a group of cockies swing upside down off the power lines, clowning around and playing chicken with passing cars, never gets boring. These are smart, problem-solving animals that should never be kept as pets for the pleasure of their human owner.

Doesn't matter if they are bred in captivity, the practice is barbaric.
What do you think about pigs in captivity? Do you set them free? I’ve seen them have fun In piles of mud.

As someone who has witnessed a lot of captive rabbits be set free only to see nothing left but some stomach and intestines left on the grass soon after I’d have to say once an animal had been kept in captivity that is the only life it really knows and letting it go is a death sentence and not being kind. It’s better to take it out back and be done with it than making it feel abandoned first. But that’s my opinion.

I also wonder why people are setting gold fish free all over the place because they grow “tired” of them… who can’t care for a gold fish.

I'm rekindling my alchemical romance this morning. In other shiniy news, my RCM Infinity Twist made it to Moscow and is getting ready to board a plane for the US. Safe flight, little mod :D
You must have a lot of mods still at it I see. My part of the world has started a war on vaping big time and I am pretty well set in my stash of mods and attys. I got a freezer full of 4 litre 60mg salt nic bottles to last my life hopefully. Can’t buy that here anymore unless I get my very own legit business I can only buy 20 mg in Canada.

Loving DIY thanks to the folks who helped
Me on here.

That sucks. Luckily, I still have a few sources but I did buy some DIY supplies last spring just in case. I've stocked up on mechs over the years, too. If my regulated mods fizzle out, I'll still have the mechs and I can't imagine they could really restrict batteries. Glad to hear you have your DIY sorted :thumb:

My 'new to me' JM Mods (Poland) Damascus mod. Found it in the classifieds. It has a Yihi SX350J v2 chip. Being used to DNA mods it took me a minute or two to figure out the Yihi menu and lay of the land. It's pretty easy and straight forward.

I actually got this guy yesterday, I over paid for him, but I have seen him in the pet store for over a month, and felt really bad for the little guy stuck in a small glass tank, he is only 4 months old and is very lovable already, we have named him George :)

Great idea, and I bet they LOVE all of them. Mine only went on my shoulders. One on each side.
I had a Pionus parrot named Gabby, who somehow, learned some bad words, and her favorite time to use them was when company was there. She was a show off. She knew MANY words and tricks and I swear (no pun intended) she knew when she shouldn't use that language, and so she did. Smart little parrot.
Then I had a blue fronted Amazon, who must've either witnessed a murder or its former owners committed murder, as he would SCREAM at the top of his lungs, "No! No! No! AAAAAHHHH! over and over if we were watching a scary show. They were wonderful. But, as I had adopted them when they were older, they are gone now. I DID give my Amazon to a bird friend who really wanted him and it was getting too hard to clean his cage. But I LOVED having birds, especially when they were not wanted by others. I was the same with cats for many years, then I was unable. But SOOOO fulfilling. Animals that can't make it in the wild need our help. I wish more people fostered or rescued. Thank heavens for people like chanelvaps!! I imagine she has saved thousands of cats and kept thousands more from reproducing.

Terrible picture but there’s no getting one of him out of the cage. He is not clipped and for an old fella he can really zoom!
It's a great story about Jesse and I'm glad he helped your family.

I knew when I posted my story/ opinion there was a probability of offending people but I do feel very strongly about it. I know it sounds like I was being judgemental but my motive was to make people think a bit and look at it from the birds' perspective instead of the pleasure they can bring to us people.

The problem is is people keep buying captive birds from pet shops, it encourages the trade to continue.

The reason captive birds fly away when they get a chance is because they want freedom.

Who knows, someday there could be a Brunhilde sitting on top. I haven't written off the Brunhilde. I mean, you are very pleased with how she works on all your Good Wood and that means something to me. So she might find a home on mine. :)

Tomorrow is going to be a good day.

Went out today to get some pastries from the local bakery since my pops was in the mood for something sweet.
While waiting outside for my turn (due to Covid only like 2 people allowed inside at once) i saw the psychiatrist from social services so we started chatting.

She saw me pretty bummed out and asked me if i needed anything, told her that a couple of hours just by myself with a good book,a couple of espressos and some vaping is all i needed.

She then told me she just got a couple of new volunteers, called one right away (keep in mind it was sunday) and yeah at 5 pm i am getting 3 hours of uninterrupted ''me'' time.

Yeah i mean at home it is never uninterrupted, even if i am on the pc i go check on my pops every 20 or 30 minutes and i can't wear headphones nor put music or a movie at normal volume cause i need to hear him in case he calls me or something happens.

So yeah baby, tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm i will be right here:

    Almoradí._Ayuntamiento_1.JPG

Pic is from the main plaza of the small town i live in,on the other side of the plaza there is a kiosk shaped bar with a nice terrace.
At 5pm i am picking up some GREEN & YELLOW (OIL4VAP) nic salts from my friends vape shop so i can finally try the Zenith II,2 minute walk to the plaza and then i am going to park my stressed Spanish tushy in the terrace and finally have some ''me'' time.

Nice plaza with a nice breeze, couple of espressos, some vaping and my favorite book (IT from Stephen King) and i will be one happy camper :)

I don’t think it’s an either/or thing. I think wild animals should be left wild, protected if needed, and pets are forever. If you can’t promise forever, don’t get the pet. Even a goldfish.
If anything happens to me, I have made arrangements for mine. My daughter takes Jesse and my Sil takes Georgia and gets the money I’ve socked away for her expenses.
