It's a great story about Jesse and I'm glad he helped your family.

I knew when I posted my story/ opinion there was a probability of offending people but I do feel very strongly about it. I know it sounds like I was being judgemental but my motive was to make people think a bit and look at it from the birds' perspective instead of the pleasure they can bring to us people.

The problem is is people keep buying captive birds from pet shops, it encourages the trade to continue.

The reason captive birds fly away when they get a chance is because they want freedom.

I'm not offended, and not to sound defensive, but you can say that about any pet. I go to the pet store every week, and he's been in that small cage/tank for 5 weeks, he would run up to the glass every time I was there, I felt bad for him and I liked him, so I gave him a good home, if wasn't me, it would be someone else take him, he would never see the wild, if I bought him or not.

Great idea, and I bet they LOVE all of them. Mine only went on my shoulders. One on each side.
I had a Pionus parrot named Gabby, who somehow, learned some bad words, and her favorite time to use them was when company was there. She was a show off. She knew MANY words and tricks and I swear (no pun intended) she knew when she shouldn't use that language, and so she did. Smart little parrot.
Then I had a blue fronted Amazon, who must've either witnessed a murder or its former owners committed murder, as he would SCREAM at the top of his lungs, "No! No! No! AAAAAHHHH! over and over if we were watching a scary show. They were wonderful. But, as I had adopted them when they were older, they are gone now. I DID give my Amazon to a bird friend who really wanted him and it was getting too hard to clean his cage. But I LOVED having birds, especially when they were not wanted by others. I was the same with cats for many years, then I was unable. But SOOOO fulfilling. Animals that can't make it in the wild need our help. I wish more people fostered or rescued. Thank heavens for people like chanelvaps!! I imagine she has saved thousands of cats and kept thousands more from reproducing.
thank you my friend. I had a friend that rescued a green parrot and the parrot was pretty happy but yelled "call the cops' all the time. Made us wonder about his living situation prior to my friend

    Somewhere between here and there
Tomorrow is going to be a good day.

Went out today to get some pastries from the local bakery since my pops was in the mood for something sweet.
While waiting outside for my turn (due to Covid only like 2 people allowed inside at once) i saw the psychiatrist from social services so we started chatting.

She saw me pretty bummed out and asked me if i needed anything, told her that a couple of hours just by myself with a good book,a couple of espressos and some vaping is all i needed.

She then told me she just got a couple of new volunteers, called one right away (keep in mind it was sunday) and yeah at 5 pm i am getting 3 hours of uninterrupted ''me'' time.

Yeah i mean at home it is never uninterrupted, even if i am on the pc i go check on my pops every 20 or 30 minutes and i can't wear headphones nor put music or a movie at normal volume cause i need to hear him in case he calls me or something happens.

So yeah baby, tomorrow from 5pm to 8pm i will be right here:

Pic is from the main plaza of the small town i live in,on the other side of the plaza there is a kiosk shaped bar with a nice terrace.
At 5pm i am picking up some GREEN & YELLOW (OIL4VAP) nic salts from my friends vape shop so i can finally try the Zenith II,2 minute walk to the plaza and then i am going to park my stressed Spanish tushy in the terrace and finally have some ''me'' time.

Nice plaza with a nice breeze, couple of espressos, some vaping and my favorite book (IT from Stephen King) and i will be one happy camper :)

I’m really happy for you! It is well deserved. Now if sourcemore would just send your next review sample it would be icing on the cake.

Let me first say I respect and agree in part with everything you say.

I was part of a symposium yesterday and this very topic, along with discussion on the conservation efforts regarding wild populations of the species of turtles I work with. I think these discussions could include any animal that is highly desired as a pet.

It has been studied and concluded that viable captive breeding programs do indeed take pressure off wild populations from poaching, habitat loss, and even pollutants that effect them.

Just a small example of how taking away the ability for captive breeding to take place and how it effects wild populations is what's going on in Florida right now with the very species I work with. Florida banned people from being able to keep diamondback terrapins and breeding them. FWCC (Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission) reports that there is over a 200% increase now in poaching arrests. That can be considered a good thing but as a breeder myself I am seeing wild caught terrapins from Florida hit the trade more than ever now than in previous years. The poachers are licking their chops at this opportunity and it's purely a money grab. An adult female Mangrove Diamondback Terrapin can sell for over 8k per animal on the market. I have seen them sell as high as $22k. Most of these end up in China and that's even more troubling.. they actually have more there than we have in our captive breeding efforts in the states.

Florida bureaucrats really didn't think this through fully. They figured the easy answer was to ban legal ownership of animals that were even born in captivity. It's noble in thought, but it doesn't work when you have nefarious individuals who are looking to make a quick buck.

The truth is when there are viable captive breeding efforts in place it drives the price of the animal down, so now going out and capturing wild animals is simply not as attractive, the smaller reward is not worth the risk anymore.

With that said, I do think that there are certain species that should remain free in the wild and never held in captivity, ever. Sadly, we as humans may need to interfere in some way though. Habitat loss from human encroachment is a real issue... We are doing more harm than good.

Pigs, I will admit total ignorance -- I have no clue if these are issues in Australia.
    Sorry for the novel.

export of birds has been illegal since i think the 60s

so, if a breed is not available already OS, it is not legal to acquire one, even if they have captive populations here

which leads to illegal smuggling. Drugging and smuggling in socks etc

Do they allow captive breeding and selling among pet owners?

i can't remember the name of the law to look it up

but everything prior to the enactment that was exported can be freely bred OS, you have colour variants selectively bred that we don't

locally in aus, we can keep and breed

it is just a law about exporting. It is a really long way to travel

unsure if there is similar for sugar gliders etc, which have populations for breeding os

I fully support banning exportation of native species even if bred in captivity, and of course, poaching. It's truly a problem worldwide. There is more than enough animals/reptiles that are now, for lack of a better term, "domesticated" to fully support demand. You may have to pay more and search harder to find one, but the breeders are there.

I'm so glad to see this. And well done for not putting on a brave face, and saying everything's fine. I know how much easier it is to do that - I'm an expert

I haven't tried a Dvarw on it yet as have been enjoying the change with the Zlide and the 0.3 coil....I know shame on me....very out of character. Funny about the F0 mode though as I found that it was making the coil taste a bit funky at 16w and 60htz

I agree though.... Innokin have done a really good job with the chip and the Zlide's not half bad either :)

Keeping in mind that my taste buds are crap - esp. compared to 5+ year ex-smokers

I prefer the 0.3 z-coil down at the lower end 20-35hz @ 28watts. Whereas I like my ni80 0.7ohm 30*2/40 Dvarw coil at 60-70hz range @ 24watts - using the same raspberry juice in both. I briefly tried a mint choc in f0 mode, which was good - but the raspberry was OMFG.

From what Tim Wiseman's been talking about below his z80 review here:
Innokin Coolfire Z80 Kit 80W with Zenith II - Review
If you're low in wattage, go higher in hertz and vice versa. You can try matching the hertz to the coil's resistance which works for me - but in your case, I'd use wattage as a guide. Unless you're using the pre-installed 0.8ohm coil? Either way, try it between 80-100hz.

And it may be that you just get better flavour in wattage only mode. Which I'm sure some people will find that they do.

Brilliant news and I'm glad that you managed to think about yourself for a change....you definitely need more of that. Good time too with the summer heat

Here's to you releasing some of that pent up frustration Javi. It's important for sure. Enjoy it
