I’m no expert but as I understand it, a full spectrum is a full spectrum. If you search specifically for SAD lamps, you’re going to pay a lot more.
I used to buy full spectrum when I had iguanas and I also put one over the kitchen sink - they are florescent 2’ and would go about $6-7. Probably a bit more now.
I had a doc suggest it for me and when I looked into it I couldn’t see any difference between the bulb in the $100-150 lamps and the ones I got from the hardware or pet aisle.

No direct experience but it makes perfect sense if you have SAD as it's caused by lack of full sunlight....
I've used one off and on for years. For me, it didn't do much at all. Sometimes gave me a headache. PLEASE keep in mind that everyone is different. Just be sure you can return it within about 90 days if it doesn't work for you. You need to use it several times to see if it works. Best of luck. And Delores' advice makes a lot of sense.
I have one. Pretty sure I got it through Amazon, purchased based on a recommendation. It works, but it’s a time consuming addition to the daily routine
Anyone here know if it's true that you can get more life out of a coil (not rebuildable) by gently sussing out some cotton on the side holes of the coil with like an eyeglass screwdriver? Just a little bit. Saw this online and wondered if it were true?

I didn't get a headache EVERY time, but often enough. I think it's in how you place it. But for some people, not matter HOW you place it, you get a headache.
Laughter is still the best medicine, especially if you can belly laugh. Did anyone ever see this video? This guy is fantastic and watch his face. He does a lot of videos.
Maybe for some people it's just a case of needing a better climate....and you do have some sudden extremes in parts of the US in terms of winter to summer.
Or....and I'm being serious....you can be depressed anyway all year but summer weather cheers you up a bit giving the appearance of SAD....just a psychologist rambling on again
I bet he forgot and just took off.
