Not really, more human error making sure the flap was lined up and firmly closed, then anything to do with manufacturer/product at this time. . . However, I do hear you, IMO - after awhile, like everything else, pretty sure they can/will "wear" out as you mentioned . . . Maybe even "stretch" if people are not careful opening the flap . . . Guess we'll just have to wait and see . . . Just Sayin' . . .

.

Thanks. Same here. No issues yet, but I'm very careful when refilling my Sceptres and Z tanks. I wish innokin would offer spare plugs for sale. I even mentioned it to Phil some time ago and he said he'd contact them, but so far, no luck.

Brunhilde in gunmetal arrived from FT today. Looks and feels good. Definitely a lighter color grey than the gun metal Siegfried but I have one in SS so I will switch it out tmrw.
No hard edges and feels good in the hand. Not as heavy as Dovpo it will replace but not a light weight.View attachment 958691

I hope you really enjoy your new Brunhilde rta Mate:thumb:
She'll be a great match on the SBS there and an even better vape;)

Fred that's a terrible story!! Your poor sister and those poor records. I nearly cried when I read that.:(
There is a bit of a happy ending though. My Dad ended up putting them between two pieces of glass, and left them in the sun. They straightened up some, but still had that wobble.

My mom’s first car was a ‘64 Rambler wagon. She had never driven until my dad died. Imagine hauling 6 kids around, learning to drive in New Jersey. Mad respect. It was just like this one.

My first car was a used Cutlass that blew up the week we bought it, so I never really got to drive it. The first one I actually considered mine was a ‘68 Rambler wagon, white over red. I loved that old dog.

What a cool car. I'm so jealous of the stylish gas guzzlers you guys had back in the day. Some of them made it out to Australia but not that many. We called them "Yank Tanks" when I was a kid.
Pretty sure @Daniel Forsyth and @Doffy know what I'm talking about.

Ramblers were actually pretty small compared to other cars at the time, but gas guzzler is accurate. I think I got 9 mpg. My husband had a ‘62 Bel Aire and a ‘60 Biscayne. Now they were pretty big, not as big as my friend’s mom’s Chrysler though lol. The Biscayne was this color which we called Gumby green

And the Bel aire was white.

If you ever drove one, you might thank AMC for sparing you. I loved mine just because it was such an oddball. I never lost it in a parking lot. I loved driving around and seeing people’s heads turn, people point at it. And I had so many offers for it - I stopped at a gas station and a guy offered me $5k! That was a lot of money for my poor self but I turned it down. But it was fussy and fiddly to drive, you had to know how to dance on the pedal to keep it running without flooding.

The 1959 Caddy Eldorado and the '57 Chevy have been dream cars for my son since he was little. He still reckons he's going to own one of each one day. Hope so. And we both want a 1967 Mustang.

What year was yours Delores? I remember you posting a photo once.

Our old next door neighbors that we still stay in touch with since our kids grew up together bought their youngest daughter either a 67 or 68 mustang for her 16th birthday. It was far from pristine condition but was decent. They have had one problem after the next and I think it's been in the shop more than it's been driven. From what I have seen so far they have no intention of restoring it.

    Morning shinies ;)

I love it when a coil pops so loudly, that you think your head just popped off

I had that on one of my Dvarws when I very first started using them. I think either the cotton was loose or I didn't get in enough and it was flooding just a little when it sat a while.

For those interested...i've been keeping a keen eye on this Sceptre leaking issue i've been having. In the past I never really took the time to look properly and see where leak comes from...I just replaced the coils...many of them.
This is how it starts. Yesterday I thought it was around the magnet holes...but seems it's not. It just flows there after some time. It comes out the perimeter of the contact area. In the photo it can be seen. I have about 15 coils left, and if this mod lasts that long....i'm done with the Sceptre.
