For those interested...i've been keeping a keen eye on this Sceptre leaking issue i've been having. In the past I never really took the time to look properly and see where leak comes from...I just replaced the coils...many of them.
This is how it starts. Yesterday I thought it was around the magnet holes...but seems it's not. It just flows there after some time. It comes out the perimeter of the contact area. In the photo it can be seen. I have about 15 coils left, and if this mod lasts that long....i'm done with the Sceptre.

Do you have a spare pod? There seems to be a problem with the pod, not the coils. That's all I have to offer.

Hey Kat. Yeah I have 4. Every time one died, I kept the pod. I rotate them now with different flavors. All i'm doing now is replacing coils faster. They only start doing that after some use.

I had that on one of my Dvarws when I very first started using them. I think either the cotton was loose or I didn't get in enough and it was flooding just a little when it sat a while.
It's usually due to a tiny gap on the wicking port. And the Dvarw always stays saturated unless you really wick it too tight through the coil.

Good morning Vietnam :D

Not much on the shiny front...or back. I'm off to do some mixing...lots of new stuff to try.

Boxx, Delro, Z80, Brunhilde SBS, several Mixxes and Paramours in rotation....comme d'habitude.

I'll try and check in later....have a good day/evening all

The 1959 Caddy Eldorado and the '57 Chevy have been dream cars for my son since he was little. He still reckons he's going to own one of each one day. Hope so. And we both want a 1967 Mustang.

What year was yours Delores? I remember you posting a photo once.

Our old next door neighbors that we still stay in touch with since our kids grew up together bought their youngest daughter either a 67 or 68 mustang for her 16th birthday. It was far from pristine condition but was decent. They have had one problem after the next and I think it's been in the shop more than it's been driven. From what I have seen so far they have no intention of restoring it.

That’s a lot of car for a 16 year old kid. My kids would’ve killed themselves. Heck I still wouldn’t trust my son with one and he’s 37.

It has sat either in their garage or in the shop probably around 90% of the time. She’s 21 now and in college and is driving a pickup truck. I don’t think they thought it was reliable enough to take to college.

Back when i lived in Canada and once i got my drivers permit this was my first car:

    ASPEN.jpg

Cost me 250 bucks and it was awful but before buying my first car i listened to the advice my pops gave me:

''Never EVER get a new car when you first get your drivers license''

And yeah he was really right about this, these days i cringe and hard when i see someone with a green L in the back window and driving a brand new car.
By law in Spain you have to put a green L sign in your back window for 1 year so people know you are a new driver.

Seen people drive beamers, mercs, sport versions of every brand of car out there and with the green L in the back...not smart and i have no idea how the parents allowed them to do that.

Back in the 90's this scrawny kid i knew from high school just got his license and the parents bought him a Corvette...yeah a freaking corvette.
Kid lost control of the car and he rammed into a local blockbuster video, luckily no one was killed but there was a lot of injured people...sheesh,to much car and to much engine for a scrawny kid with no driving experience.

I kept my Dodge Aspen for 2 years, after that with the money i had saved up i got me a nice 1980 Pontiac Trans Am,i did want the 77' so i could cruise in ''Bandit'' style but it was above my budget at the time hehe

I have been doing this ever since I did rehab and stopped abusing chit. It started with a 73 VW Bug in 1989, paid cash, less than 2K. Then saved my ducets for my next car. A black Chevy MIni van. Again saved and saved and then got a 4Runner. By now I was paying more than 2K obviously. Next came the Toyota Highlander, 2013 and bought it cash in 2016 and paid 20K.
Lastly in 2020 I bought my Mercedes, a 2019 and YUP paid cash for it.
The only way to do things. I am not in favor of giving anyone interest ever.

Funny how we love our first cars, I got a '68 1/2 ton chevy p/u from the local army base auction for $458 O.D. green, I loved that truck. Wish I still had it.:)

Same as when I was in school, and when my kids were, too. There were always those parents with more money than sense who got their kids some brand new ego mobile.
I told my kids, it’s easier to go from Cinderella to Princess than from Princess to Cinderella. I wasn’t going to spoil them so that there was nothing to reach for, and they’d be disappointed the rest of their lives.
They got used cars, had to pay their own insurance and parts.

We got 0% interest on my wife’s CX9 which is why we went ahead and bought new last time. Unfortunately putting two kids through college I can’t save 32k to pay cash so that was the next best thing.

Hitt, my kids are grown so that was the reason I was able to. I wish it was only 32K more like $47K. I have never bought new. Always used and less and less used as time has gone on and kids were grown and money was easier to save.
