Good morning. I didn’t get much done yesterday. We finally got my daughter’s car back from the dealership repaired and she’s planning on trading it already. She found a little truck she likes.

    Good morning shineople.

I have a question, and am wondering how some of you might handle this. I received these in the mail yesterday instead of the two packages that were supposed to arrive - one from FT containing two dotRBAs, and one from vaporesso for the luxe XR I won in a giveaway. This is what I received instead:

Have any of you received anything like this? I'm not completely opposed to paying the $12 as it's better than getting confiscated, but I feel like this shouldn't be my responsibility. Thoughts?

Now you've done it. Bludger saw that and came down with a serious case of tusk envy.
You can help Bludger by purchasing 3D printed elephant tusks. It's a thing and they are made in many sizes. They're doing it for real elephants - - - not that Bludger isn't real (cuz he most certainly is).

Personally I would either call carrier or take the slips to the PO for an explanation.

I would take those to your post office and ask to see a manager for an explanation. I've never seen anything like that before. Wouldn't surprise me if more folks start seeing the same.

    Good luck!!!

You may have an VAT in the US that has kicked in.
Actually not such a crazy price, with us we pay $20 just for them to bother collecting VAT. VAT comes naturally on top of the fee.

I’ve never seen anything like that. I’d definitely go to the post office looking for an explanation and maybe contact the senders. Not sure about FT but I’ve never had a problem receiving stuff from Vaporesso.

Wondering if the local sales tax wasn't covered in the shipping. I don't know why they'd call it "fraudulent postage", though.

I sincerely doubt those notices are for local sales tax. To me, it looks like the shippers did not pay for enough postage.

You won't know for certain until you get an explanation from the post office.

Yeah, but wouldn't that mean that they'd simply turn around and say "Okay, we didn't charge you enough for shipping. The additional cost is what we should have charged you."

Not if they sent a large shipment to the US from China and once here some 3rd party didn't pay enough for postage to you. Your post office folks will explain it all.

FT and other Chinese places ship in bulk to the states. Once here a 3rd party handles shipping to the customer. That's been going on for a long time.

IIRC, per the PACT Act that went into effect last year (or the year before) state taxes are to be collected by the seller. Vape purchases an individual makes in the states are supposed to be reported to each state.

So far, I've seen no customs fees for my purchases overseas. I haven't bought anything stateside since before the PACT Act went into effect. I refuse to buy any vape gear over here because of the P.A.

There's usually a disclaimer or clause at the bottom where they state "additional import/customs fees must be paid by the recipient" or something along that line. Vaporesso didn't notify me of this, but I'm sure it's in fine print somewhere.

I'm with the others that say you need to take the slips into the PO and request an explanation, and pay any postage due.

The best example I can think of for "Fraudulent Postage" would be shipping a widget as media mail, when it wasn't a book, CD, or video recording. I've been hit for postage due when someone paid shipping on for example, Flat Rate Envelope, and sent a large box with the label. Using a Priority Mail package and trying to hide the "Priority Mail" markings and paying parcel post could also get you a bill.

I haven't ordered from FT in years, but I can't think of their shipping drifting towards fraudulent postage territory. I think the creative declarations would have fallen into a different check box. Those prices look similar to the price for smaller priority mail letters, so maybe someone mis-used a priority package.

    Morning shinies ;)

Will be interested in your thoughts on the honeycomb af too. I wish more boro mods had that as a door option - my only honeycomb af doors are in the SXK delros and it makes for a noticeably smoother vape imo. Using the same RBAs in other boro mods as a comparison.

The honeycomb doors were the first thing I saw - huge plus. Along with it being pink!
