My Aer is going to get a lower coil, this time with the legs up.
You probably saw Mark Todd's review of the Aer. He found his own RDL/4mm af sweet spot flavour-wise with the coil sitting lower than the deck guides.

I've been watching your and SMT' 's experiences with the Aer with interest - I'm a fan of Atmizoo designs including the Dotshell and especially the Qbix (identical deck to the Dotshell but scaled up to boro size).
I'm curious to see how the same type of deck/ wicking translates to the round shape of the Aer.

Are you mainly using the Aer for mtl vaping?
@ShowMeTwice what size air pin are you liking?

I saw it too, but I have experience with other attys where a lower set coil increases flavor, and reduces troath hit.
My first build was already quite low, but I had planned to lower it even more due to the lack of flavour, compared to Caspardina.
That atty is also one of the best in terms of flavor in MTL, the negative thing about that rta is that it's a leaky pig lol.

But the wicks are 100% on Aer now, so the next step is coil height settings

Pretty decent deal on the 18650/80 watt version of the ZQ Essent at 2F for only $29.99... I picked up the 21700/DNA version shortly after it came out for a nice sale price, and have no issues with the device's quality. Worth a chance on the electronics to me, since most Chinese devices are fairly accurate and dependable these days:

Of course! I wasn't suggesting that's where you got the idea. I spose my point was that some attys are more finicky than others when it comes to coil height. Will be interested to see what you come up with.

Good afternoon EveryOne :)

Yesterday my oldest daughter got her right foot stepped on by one of the boarding horses. She was brushing the horse, one of the cats spooked the horse, it backed up onto her foot. Took her to the hospital. Metatarsal stress fracture of the bone that goes to her big toe. Other bones, muscles and ligaments are fairly bruised. She needs to stay off her feet for a while. Good thing she was wearing her steel toe paddock boots or the damage would have been much worse.

Mark's Aer review is very good. I have my coil slightly lower than the deck guides. Initially I had a simple round 26g SS316L coil installed. I changed that out for a 26/36 SS316L Clapton, 3id at 0.45Ω.

So far I've tried the Aer with the 4mm (default), 3mm, 2.5mm and currently have the 2mm AF insert installed. For me, each has been an excellent vape. I like having a fairly airy MTL while also being able to pull a restricted DL when desired. Having said that, I will be switching up the AF inserts from time-to-time.

Wicking the Aer is as easy as it gets. A total breeze. I've had no problems with leaking. The JFC design is, IMO, the best around. The Aer is very well designed. Two thumbs up easily.

I very highly recommend the Aer. It's a winner all the way around.

The Aer deck is similar to the DotShell deck.

It looks like the guides are deeper on the DotShell.

The Aer isn't finicky at all. If one prefers a decent throat hit, setting the coil at the same level as the guides is perfect. That's how I initially set mine up. For me, the flavor was still excellent. I lowered my coil a bit and am getting slightly less throat hit. To be honest, I enjoy it either way.

I never thought you meant that I had to look at other people's reviews to find a solution, that said, Mark is an extremely skilled reviewer, best in class in my opinion.

Aer, I haven't measured the distance down to AF, but that should be the next milestone for me.
My first build was on the guides, but as far down as I could get. My second was with the coil legs upwards as it is easier to get the coil down, but I still think that I should go a bit deeper with the coil.
Now that I'm on my way down, I think it's a good idea to cut the cotton on the underside, at least it looks a bit nicer in terms of construction.

Will try to get some pictures taken tomorrow.

I just ordered 2 Vaporesso Gen 200 mods from SM. I couldn't decide whether to get sunset pink or aurora green, so I got both. They were less than $30 each, including shipping.
I have both of these in that color. They are fantastic for a beat around. Very lightweight

I was chatting with my mod builder earlier on and he will be sending my new DNA 75C Good Wood off first thing tomorrow morning :thumb: and this will be a nice little package!! The stabwood maker has thrown in some extra pieces of sexy stabwood for me just because I love Good Wood image.jpg plus I still have my cool custom coils made especially for miss Brunhilde to come too 331474153_917401896067362_765059040999920152_n.jpg and the video of my mod that I was sent just Blew me away, but you have to wait for that:hubba:
Then I was tempted by more upcoming projects and this picture was slapped in front of me:w00t:
    image.jpg

Of course another Good Wood mod is now being made for me, I need to keep the wheels in motion:lol::lol:
Which one did I buy?? That's the million dollar question?

I ended the day by getting the M2 BMM rba into use.
    E3187826-AC1F-4C03-9270-D76E9D14C131.jpeg

I have three rba's, but only one Boro AIO, I have used one of them in the Unitank though.
maybe it’s time to buy Boro/Billet no. 2.
It doesn't have to be very expensive AIO, Vandy Vape is out of date, clones are more interesting, 70w chip so that I can dump in the DNA 60 spare chip that has been lying here for a year or so.
I wouldn't be surprised if I could squeeze in a Dicodes BF60 Chipset as an alternative to the DNA60.
The soldering station should be put into use soon.

Tomorrow it's Aer, again, but this time I'll take loads of pictures, and not least measure the distance down to the AF pin, with or without the mtl pin.
It has definitely picked up, I can say that

Any SXK mod with a SEVO 70 chip will be easy to swap over to a DNA 60.

Here's a pei/ultem SXK BB with a DNA 60. 188 dollars is not too bad if you like the material and the upgrades that SXK made. Some say better than BB vapor.

The BXR is a fun mod. Practical too - they reduced condensation with this af. May be a little bulky.
Chip can be swapped for a DNA60. I have a youtube link if you are interested.

Or the KIMAIO clone? Again already has a DNA 60

Or 95 bucks for the SEVO 70 version:
