    Somewhere between here and there
I took the atomizer connection plate and the bottom of the Abyss off and sprayed contact cleaner through it multiple times today and let it sit upside down most of the day. I just finished putting it back together and it is working again. It's nice to know that I can do this if I have a problem again. There is an instructional on how to clean the abyss on POTV I believe. It's just two screws on top and four on the bottom and you can lift them up enough to spray out the electronics. Mine still smells like the raspberry custard I always run in it but it is working again.

It might be my imagination but it seems like the Abyss is hitting harder than before. Who knows how much liquid was built up inside. I’ve had it in rotation since I got it.
I'm glad you got it back up and running and it sounds like it was a very successful operation too.
If you had to scrap it, I would have voted for a dna 60 chip in it.

I actually thought about that. I have a couple dna100c chips but don’t have any 60’s.

I would think it was possible, they had a storm trooper I mean with dna 60
Yes, I saw that before. Somewhere I have a college Dna60. I could compare the two to see if it would fit.

    Hi everyone!

Been a while since I was active at ECF. Got a couple of Dicodes Dani Tubes (v3 18650 & the 21700) and Kayfuns back in 2018. Got a Nautilus GT and GT Mini with the PSU tanks 3 years back to add some coils into the rotation and never looked back...

...Until a couple of weeks ago, when I caught the shiny bug again. Got myself a Dicodes Dani SBS 18650 in Silver, a Kayfun X, and my first boro, the Cthluhu AIO. I'm loving the SBS and boro form factors!

The Kayfun looks great, but I'm still getting my rayon build dialed in. I've been spoiled by the Kayfun Prime's forgiving juice flow control. Getting gurgling whenever I close and open the juice flow. It's also leaking from between the top cap and tank sections. Cthluhu's a great beater for using up my stash of Nautilus coils (using silicone ear plug material to restrict airflow to MTL because the stock AFC is terrible).

Bug got me good. Just ordered a couple of clone RTAs from 3FVape to test and see if I want to get the real thing(s). Also ordered a BP Pioneer boro from HealthCabin to put in the Cthluhu, lol.

Next purchases will be the Dicodes SBS 21700 in silver and whatever RTA(s) I like in my testing. If my Kayfun X keeps leaking, probably get the Steam Tuners tank to kill 2 birds with one stone (increase capacity and stop the leaking).

I'm also considering getting a 18650 Stubby in silver when it's back, but I'm wondering how efficient the chipset is. I can squeeze my Dani SBS and Extreme v3 18650 for up to about 8ml, but the Stubby might be more power-hungry. USB-C is a huge plus over the bigger device, so might go with the smaller one regardless...

As an apology for the long post, a bonus pic (especially for the old-timers and mech connoisseaurs): Kayfun X on my Super-T Precise ELA v1. Those who know, will know. The ELA still hits like a dream!

    Cheers, all!

I would think it must be easy to create pressure inside the tank when you close the top filler, theoretically.
    That's why I haven't bought X.
+, I have 16 pieces of 24mm atty from before.
You're wiser than me (and way more atties, lol). Having used the Prime for so long, which doesn't gurgle even when I have the thinnest, nearly invisible rayon tails because of the infinitely adjustable JFC, I'd mistakenly assumed that Kayfun had somehow "figured it out". And honestly, I was enamored by the top cap. To be fair, I found the flavor to be better than the Prime even with only a 60% tail reduction and the gurgling lasts about 5-10 puffs.

It's evident to me now that it's not just the top cap that creates pressure in the tank, but the actual act of closing the JFC also pushes juice into the chamber. So when you open it back up after the topcap increases the pressure, even more juice gets pushed into the juice wells.

Also, I now get that this type of JFC is a pure vanity move, which was fueled by the directional nature of the top cap. Instead of maximizing functionality, creating a JFC to point the top cap opening indicator actually reduces the overall functionality of the product even further.

I honestly don't understand the positive reviews right now, from a rayon user's perspective. I haven't dialed it in yet, so we'll see. Right now I have a build with only ~35% reduced tails, which I am running @ 11W with a 0.8 ohm coil because the flavor was terrible in the beginning due to thick tails. 2 tanks in, way less gurgling and somehow a bit less leaking. But it took 1.5 tanks for the cellulose flavor to go away.

Might change if I dial it in, but right now this tank gets a 2.5 out of 5. For reference, the Prime gets a 4.5 out of 5. But it looks beautiful on my Dicodes SBS, lol.

Great news that you fixed it.
I doubt it's your imagination. Iv'e noticed it with regulated mods before - cleaned contacts make for a harder, faster-hitting vape.

I'm still thinking about giving it one more cleaning just for good measure. I wish now that I had bought another black one when they were on clearance at Health Cabin. Seems like most places that have them left want 80-100 for them. I was talking about it with a guy from FB and he pointed me to a thread on POTV that discusses pulling the atomizer plate and putting silicon under it to seal it from liquid. I'm kind of surprised that Dovpo didn't seal it themselves when they built them.

I also use Rayon in some of the Kayfun's I have, I would fill the wick channel roughly, my experience is that Kayfun wicks very well.
Kayfun X and refill, I would let it rest with the drip tip down for 10 minutes, maybe you can get rid of some of the juice that has been forced into the chamber.
Another way you could test, the juice is quite thick, you might be able to close the top cap with the atty upside down without the juice leaking out.
