kayfun X Journey Continues
Re-wicked the Kayfun X. Split the wick in half and did a 50% vertical cut this time. Then I did part of a Kayfun Prime move and made two diagonal cuts halfway from the center of each wick toward the end that doesn't face the juice flow ports. I would say that this ended up at about a total 60-65% cut of rayon total.
Great news: Filling the tank, I'm getting similar levels of post-fill gurgling (minimal but it exists) as the mere 30-35% cut I made last time, but with very little Cellucotton taste and better flavor. Despite the pull-up juice flow stop, looks like the juice wells are just as forgiving as the Prime. At this point, I feel as though I have the wicking 80% figured out.
Now I'm paying very close attention to how it vapes at lower wattage. This will be the next step to dialing in wicking the Kayfun X. With my current 0.8ohm preference, my hope is for minimum gurgling down to 11 watts after initial fill. Ideally it wouldn't gurgle down to 9 watts to make it an ideal mech vape. So far so good at 11 watts
I still dream of a 24-25mm Prime-style "Kayfun Ultimate" (lol) with Aerokon and proper JFC, but I'm resigned after realizing that my stealth restricted-MTL rayon ways are very, very niche now. If I ever win the lottery, I'll just commission my own custom design
