Morning shinies

I wanted to drop by and say Hi to everyone. Been a few tough weeks physically and emotionally but I’m doing ok.

I also would like to give a shout-out to @Tonee N for getting those Revenants out to me so quickly and in perfect condition. And also at a very good price. I can’t say how much I appreciated it. I haven’t used them yet but I plan on using the new ‘carbon fiber’ dead rabbit v3s RDAs that are waiting to be opened and built. They will be sharp looking setups and a perfect setup for me. So again thanks so much.

I’ve got quite a few back pages to skim over and see what everyone has been up to and what Shiny items have come in their vape mail lol!

I’m hoping to be around a bit more. Hanging out here keeps me broke but it also revs me up quite a bit seeing and hearing about what people are up to.

@Tor R I was wondering if you have any tips about modifying a Mixx.
I just ordered an orchid coloured version. Was thinking of experimenting with removing the paint and giving it a raw/distressed aluminium look. Maybe even polished aluminium but that may be hard to maintain. Not sure.
Any ideas appreciated from you or anyone else who reads this.

I think there is a bit of work to get down to the aluminum, I think Aspire have used a process called anodizing. The paint probably sits much better on the Mixx compared to the typical Chinese ones where the paint falls off / gets worn quickly.
You can try with paint remover, but you will probably end up having to sand it down.
Then it can be stylish with the original color in the mixx and the lines. And, I would bet that you will find a chemical combination that changes the aluminum color.

Polished aluminium, umm, is not ideal, aluminum is soft and gets streaks quickly with use.

I'm looking forward to your project, the last project you did was awesome.

Thanks Tor. I'm imagining some of the original colour left in grooves etc. For this project I don't want it to look too slick. Even thinking about using a meat tenderiser/mallet to put some dimples in the surface and then sand down the remaining flat surfaces - leaving the original colour in the troughs.
The plan is not to be too careful in the early stages and kind of hope something good starts to emerge. We'll see. Start rough and refine as I go. Should be fun.
Will keep you guys updated with photos - good or not so good!
