Are you not planning to use the solder infused with 2% flux? After I saw that video that Analog Dan made (thanks @ShamrockPat ) I asked a friend/colleague about it. This guy is an electronics tech and has been soldering every day at work for the past 40 years. He says that since the introduction of the solder/flux mix, he only ever uses separate flux to dip his brass wick in for de-soldering,
When I pre-tin, I prefer a tiny bit of extra flux agent, T.
shorter time before flow I feel flux gives.
Liquid flux, cleaning agent, desoldering equipment, solder, and cleaning for soldering irons are what I’ll get next week.
Tonight I soldered wires to a battery tube.

Sounds good.
Here's my wick, solder (with 2% flux) and flux for helping the wick or pre-solder.

My tech mate also advised me that most people solder wires to PCBs at too low a temperature. He suggested between 375 to 400°

Good morning shiny people. I have a coworker that I found out a while back that uses disposables. I have several that I’ve gotten for review that I charged up and am going to give to him.

I love the smell of rosin flux, it brings back memories. When I was little my dad fixed TV's and radios. The iron I had at work I think 600 deg F was the tip I used most. The older weller station I had took different tips for different temperatures.

I was researching what to get yesterday (went with Frontline Gold), and all the review sites said Revolution is the best, but it's by prescription, so it wasn't an option for my ladies.
You can buy Revolution in Australia and it is not a prescription and it is affordable. It is made by the same maker Zoetis and at first I suspected possibly a counterfeit since it was so much cheaper but I called Zoetis with the lot number handy and they confirmed it was their product. I buy it in bulk once a year since I use it on my four plus many strays and homeless cats I care for.
From Australia you can get the blue label for medium size cat, 6 vials for under $50. You can also buy generic with Selemectin for kittens. 3 vials for under $20
Sadly, Revo was the best a couple of years ago but fleas have started to become immune to it also. Long ago immune to Frontline, next came immune to Advantage.
As long as you get it on the skin you do not have to worry about kitty licking it off or bathing the cat (horrors) as long as it stays on 2 hours
Pm me if you want a link tot he site I use

    Good afternoon folks,
I haven't done much today, cleaned up dismantled mods though.
It was a bit of fun disassembling Lost Vape Grus and these GeekVape Aegis, in terms of internal design, Lost Vape is far ahead of GeekVape, LV uses sleds inside, GV does not, and GV has a soldered screen.

    Sounds good.

360˚C is where I was, not too far from what he recommended.

I watch this channel a bit, he is very good at explaining, lots of tricks, he also has very clear videos:

Now you two have me watching those videos. I’ve soldered some here and there but that guy has some really nice techniques.

My dad used to build radios back before they invented transistors. I remember watching him and the aroma of solder. When we got our first TV he was sad, he said it was the first thing he ever had in his house that he couldn't take apart and fix.

I saw a video once where RC folks were making button top batteries by setting a dome of solder on a flat top. Found that from a search after AW went under. They made it look easy but I never had the nerve to try it, one slip and boom.

    good morning folks,
i picked up a bunch of defective mods from the local shop, hoping i could mix monitors, unfortunately it wasn't that easy lol luckily my bin is big enough.
It was a Lost Vape Grus that I might try to get a dna 100 chipset in, just for the sake of the experiment.
First I need to buy some flux, Weller or Stannol seems to be easy to get here, Brass shavings for cleaning the solder tip, and some other little things to soak up the solder.
LA Grus is a warm-up for what is to come.
A buddy on Ecigssa did the same some time ago. You can check it out.

    Good afternoon folks,

We have been in the forest with Øsa, she did very well, but as usual we didn't shoot any deer.

I had to walk a bit later to be able to call her in on signal, so this was today's workout:

Øsa moved over a distance of 9.3km, she sleeps, I vape at the moment.
