It's the hot, sweaty time of year here. Xmas season for us is long days and humid nights. Sydney traffic goes crazy as people try to get all their jobs done before the annual January holiday/reset. Tempers are frayed but we deal.
The hibiscus are out in my back garden

I've had Christmases where it's been hot and humid, too, and Easter snow. But I live in a different hemisphere than you.

    Somewhere between here and there
I was looking online for Dna60 boards and it looks like they are going for around $60. I don’t know if it’s worth investing the time and money to try to convert my dead abyss. Especially after I just picked up two used ones for just a little more than the board costs.

I guess the question is whether there's more value from the process than just the cost of the component parts.
Even on that basis though, for 60 bucks you get a DNA 60 Abyss. Your dead mod stays dead otherwise.
    I'd say go for it.

When I went to take it apart one of the button cover screws was stripped so I had to drill it out. I can replace the button cover but not the screw.

It’s a really tiny torx head screw. I drilled out the head but couldn’t get the screw out.
Then it seems that there is hope of being able to use a thinner drill bit to take out the center of the screw.
I wouldn't buy the chipset until the rest of the screw is out.

But, you are already with the collection and what is to come in the future that you do not make a mistake by buying in one DNA 60 chipset.
