Good evening Shinys!
I have to admit that I’m really disappointed in the newer Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro rda.

As most you who read my posts then you know how much I absolutely love the Dead Rabbit line especially the V3 for a dual coil and the Solo for a single coil.

So I thought it was a safe bet that I’d love the Pro as well. I ended up ordering 3 of them (accidentally as usual) and all 3 of them have terrible tolerances with the top cap as well as the afc rings.

The top caps just slip right off without any tugging. Just vaping it the top slides up and off along with the two afc rings.
I figured that the 1st one was a fluke and just poor qc but all 3? And they were bought at different shops so doubt they’re from the same batch.

It makes me very sad because they really aren’t usable as is. I swapped out all the o rings and it made no difference.

So I was wondering if anyone here on the forum had bought one or done a review on them and if they had the same issue.

That’s it. Any suggestions are always appreciated and welcomed.

I’m going to go make myself a hot caramel sundae to drown my sorrows. Lol

Wired up my new custom BB this morning.
Again it's loud and gaudy but lots of fun. I got a scare though - the dna 60 seemed dead when I first powered it up. Turns out I'd created a bad soldering joint on the battery positive terminal. Fixed and now it's all working fine.

I would try some o-rings with a slightly thicker CS (cross section).

You want the same ID. The OD will change with a slightly thicker CS, which if you think about it, that's what you want. A tighter fit for the top-cap and AFC.

Measure the DR Pro RDA o-rings in mm, it's much easier.

How to measure o-rings, here:

The O-Ring Store is a great place to purchase replacement high quality o-rings. They ship quick.

You will be fine with Buna-N 70 (NBR) o-rings (they have many sizes).

Both are raw, lovely choice of components I.
The way we are going, it is not certain that we will buy so many new mods, it is more fun to put them together ourselves

Final report on my 3F package. BB KF arrived today. 30 days after ordering, and most of that time it showed sitting in US customs. Not bad, especially during the Christmas rush.

Calling @Pigs - Some quick questions mate. The KF came in a minimalistic package, just the plastic box with the bits in. No instructions. I dug out a spare boro tank and figured out how to install the thing. There are two screw on pieces that fit on the base of the tank, one with threads on the bottom, one unthreaded and tapered. The threaded one was fitted when it arrived, the tapered one was in a separate baggie. What's that about? Second question is how do you adjust the airflow? Appreciate any guidance here.

NBR is the most used o-ring material, there are other o-ring materials that are better suited to wear, oil resistance, etc, etc Viton med flere.

Here you go @englishmick
The clone is a 1:1copy of the original so everything Todd shows here applies to your clone.

There is an adapter that you have to use when you anneal the coil.
Technically, you could use the adapter when you insert the rba into the boro, but the one that is screwed on when you get the atty is the one that should also be on when you insert it into the boro.

AF is adjusted with Aerokon pin similar to KFL21 and X.

Kayfun BB is in my opinion the best mtl rba out there right now

Thanks. That told me everything I need to know. He said with the pin removed the airflow is 1.8mm. I use my regular KFL's with the pin bored out to 5/64th which is a touch under 2mm so I will probably try it without the pin. Never seen Todd's reviews before, he does a great job. It will likely be after Christmas before I get it set up, I'll let you know how it goes.

cheers

Been keen to hear how you like it.
I agree - Todd does a great job. Honest and reliable, no hype and doesn't take himself too seriously.

I have a couple RTA's and RDA's that use FDA Silicone VMQ 70 and V75 FKM (Viton flourocarbon) o-rings.

Good Morning Sunshines,
Have A Good One... !

The new charger Vapcell S4 Plus V3.0 (12A) just delivered, the first impression are very good, looks very durable as a construction, the buttons have a slightly play but nothing to worry about !
I like the display - screen and its functions !
I hope that will be durable through the years... !?

I put in
CH 1 a Fenix protected AA - 14500 Li-ion 1.5V - 2.4Wh (ist a proprietary battery for my mini flashlight Fenix E35 V3.0), and it dedicated immediately, and right after that it was fully charged, and giving a beep signal ! Which means that it really can recognize the type of the battery and making the right actions - giving the right current in the Auto Mode !

CH 2 a brand new Molicel INR18650 P28B 2800mAh 35A for its first charge !

CH 3 a used Samsung 50E 21700 5000mAh

CH 4 a used MNKE INR 26650 3500mAh

So far im pretty pleased with it !

Edit :
The delivery was in 3 days (in country), plus they sent me 2 LG HG2 18650 3000mAh 35A batterys as a gift !

Thanks for that suggestion. I did try using the thicker o rings that came in the accessories bag but then I couldn’t get the top cap back on. Maybe I’ll try an o ring from a different atty like from the Solo or Dead Rabbit v3. Hopefully that will work.

It’s just disappointing that this is a problem on all three of them. It just seems odd because in my experience with dead vape the quality has always been top notch.

I’m going to send them an email as well along with the always requested videos and see if they respond. I’ll have to dig through my emails to find the order confirmations or better yet if I can remember where I bought them - I can get a copy of the invoice to send along.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed because it’s a pretty good vape. It’s just difficult to get a consistent vape when the cap and afc rings are coming off lol !

Oh and thanks for that link. That’s very helpful. I love this forum- I’m always learning something new from my fellow Shinys regardless of how long I’ve been vaping!

I reviewed those and so did Frenkyou. I had no issue with the cap being loose. I have my box of rdas sitting right beside me now so got out the pro and checked it again and it’s fine.

Good morning Shinys. I woke up waaay to early and couldn’t get back to sleep so here I am.

What’s everyone’s plans for this holiday weekend? Shopping all done? I don’t really have much shopping since my sister in New Jersey is the only relative I’m close with. We usually send each other something funny. One year she gave me the game Operation because of all the surgeries I’ve had! I know that some people would think that was meanish but we both have a very good self deprecating sense of humor so I loved it lol!

My newish housemate will actually be home on Christmas because his parents are traveling in India and Dubai this year. So for the 1st time in easily over a decade I won’t be home alone. He’s a great cook and is planning a nice meal. I’m very grateful that I decided to get another roommate because he’s been great to live with. He was a friend of my other roommate otherwise I wasn’t planning on getting another housemate. It’s worked out well.

I have lots to be grateful for. I just need to remind myself of that occasionally.

    Have a great weekend !

I guess I just had a run of bad luck with the ones I received. I’m glad that yours fit well. I’ll have to read your review. I’d like to get another one but after already spending the money on three of them maybe the vape gods are telling me something lol!

If you ever want to sell it send me a pm. Thanks.

I don’t know how long it would take to get a response but can try to ask my Hellvape contact about it. What stores did you buy from and do the boxes have authenticity stickers on them?
