I never seen a possum in my life until I moved to Pennsylvania.

we see possum all the time

LOLz........... couple mornings ago i let our three German Shepherds outside and at the last second i just happened to notice a possum

it obviously freaked :censored:ing out seeing three GSD's running its way.......... possum immediately played dead

what we call "a possum playing dead" is, in truth, a state called "tonic immobility" which is a physiological response to extreme stress, they have no conscious control over this

the dogs sniffed him/her and let it be........... 'bout 20 minutes after i brought the dogs in the house the possum came to and waddled off

thinking it was very happy to still be among the living

LOL .. yeah, same here ... I never seen a possum in my life until I moved to Pennsylvania. I also seen my first Amish person after moving here along with a whole slew of genuine hillbillies. I am originally from the Northwest (Montana) and they do not have such things there.

Wow. There are fewer anti-government militia groups in Pennsylvania than in Montana. Not as many people take their AR-15 grocery shopping. That is one saving grace.

You have to love stereotypes... right?

Possums are good to have around unless they become too numerous. They kill and eat snakes. They also feast on ticks. What I wasn't used to here were armadillos. Serious diggers. Very sharp claws. They dig holes under the house. Almost indestructible.

LOL Possem used to be a traditional Thanksgiving dish. They used to serve it at the Whitehouse. I have never eaten it.

Possum are common here. I often see them as roadkill. I had a house once, in a city not the country where there was lots of em. They'd run along the top of my fence and I once had to fish a dead one out of the cement pond. No hillbillies here, but genuine cowboys. They don't use horses as much to work the cattle, but pickup trucks. Once, my sister and I, each of us in a pickup, were playing chicken on a country road, driving towards each other and blaring our horns. (We did have enough sense to stop before hitting each other.) However the cows got very mad at us, because a pickup with the horn blaring means dinnertime to them.

I grew up in North Central Appalachia and currently live in the Deep South. When I moved here, I gained 70 pounds. There is lots of good food, including many mom-and-pop BBQ places, as well as traditional soul food. Coastal cuisine is different. It also has a very different culture. If I get bored with the local scene, I can drive over to Louisiana and even experience New Orleans (NOLA). I finished up the beans today. Many people don't realize how regional food and culture are still alive and thriving in the United States. Most people know "HogJaw" to be a band.

Cats will not be sleeping under the covers tonight.... :vapor:

Also a good evening to everyone!
Culture is a thing for sure. As a westerner (Southern California, L.A. area) moving to a small town in rural Georgia, the cultural difference was huge. It still is 30 years later because I move back and forth a lot. The South is financial security. The West Coast is home (always)

    Somewhere between here and there
Good afternoon. I posted review 3 of 3 for Oxbar this morning so I’m done with disposables for now. My wife who still smokes but keeps one of my mod and tank combos in her car has shown some interest so I may pass them to her.

I bet she'd get fewer/less painful headaches if she switched to vaping. I certainly did, anyway (I still get them all the time, mind, but they were much worse and pretty much guaranteed when I smoked).
