Karen, I love your new avatar! You're so pretty!

I'm happy you finally got your eRoll. You know that's what finally pushed me over the edge to vaping full time. It satisfied my need to feel like I had a real cigarette in my hand. If you have two battery setups you can charge one while you're using the other so you always have one charged. If you find that it's really working for you to give up the smokes you can get a second PCC so that you always have one on hand. It would be worth the money if it's really working for you. Good luck. :)

Well Thaya, from my experience here and reading various threads all over the place I knew that me never wanting/needing a cigarette ever again was improbable. I am amazed that I made it through so many deaths and calamities without going nuts or smoking a carton. It is all in my head. It is not so much I want the cigarette that bad, it is more that I want this frustration to go away and it is not. And since my vape right now is not satisfying me I am consumed with the idea a cigarette would be a quick fix. I know that is not true. But my mind keeps going there.

Shari, Hang in there! You are doing great! I am so happy that you have fought this battle and won so far! You are an inspiration to me and many others because of the amount of stress you have dealt with this year and your continued success! We don't need the cigs we only think we do!
Love you and I know you will make it through all of this and come out on top!:wub:

Montazumas revenge, not good put that on the last on the list of no's

no list includes :any place they have those big tornados, and earthquakes

Hurricanes are ok , you get a lot of notice to get out, not that I did in the past.
I might stay in FLorida, just another area, if I do move, I wouldn't mind living a little further north and west away from the beaches. Hilly area perhaps, so tired of flat.

Well that cuts out the entire west coast (earthquakes). Seriously, most in the NW are tons of little tremors; lampshade rattles for a few seconds. Mexico's out because they've really tighten up income restrictions and buying into their healthcare won't work anymore because of a ton of 'pre-existing' conditions they won't treat now. I guess too many Americans. Most places I looked at required someone to be doing pretty well here inorder to move there.

Got a question. Is $30 for a Kayfun (svesmento however that's spelled) a good deal? There's a guy in our vape group that has one for sale. I said yes because that's about the same $ range as the FT ones.

yes that sounds fair, especially if you don't have to wait. Ask him to show you how to wrap the coils in front of you if you get to meet him in person. If not ask him to wrap 2 extra coils, that gives you plenty of time to learn.

It's a clone but that doesn't mean it's not a good one. The clones are getting excellent reviews.

He offered it to someone else and they weren't sure they wanted it. So I piped up and said I was interested if they weren't. Some of these people in the group drop $1k a week on vape gear. The collections are unreal. Waaaaay over my head and budget. Just the fact it's a clone would be reason enough for him not to keep it (otherwise I wonder why sell?). Thx.

Yeah, my Kayfun clone is giving me fits...works great without the tank, but that's not the point of the thing. I got some pointers here (some I had already done, others were new suggestions) and I've still yet to be able to use it. It was ever-so-kindly PIF'd to me by our own JJ--as a vapeversary gift. I'm now waiting until Friday so I can go by the only B&M that I know knows RBA's so they can tell me I'm an idiot or that I've got a bad atty.

Without the tank or without the chimney? Could be shorting on the chimney if coil is off? Otherwise im not sure. Maybe a pressure issue with the tank?

What's the problem so I can throw ideas.

Had a snarky comment to post. Got distracted by dinner. Was something of being an idiot since you want to learn it can be corrected. Bad atty and gotta fix it or replace it.

Is it real? If so, and in good condition, yes. They run around $100 new. But there is a clone with the Svoesmestro name on it at Fasttech. That drops the value down to about $25 tops. Check Fasttech, do Kayfun search. To see what the real one looks like go to Vaporev.com. They are in CA and are a good vendor for high end attys and stuff.

So. I have calmed down. I did not smoke. But went to the cigar bar up the street and talked to the owner and smelled the wonderful rich tobacco smells for a bit.

Bought a Bernzomatic Micro Torch kit to torch kanthal and for when I squeeze together micro coils. Total overkill but the butane lighter I bought the day before was worthless.

Got my r91 version 1 and it would not read coil on my provari or mvp so found out how to fix it. And how to take r91 apart and straighten out positive post block. Did then both all by myself earlier today. Then spent about 3 minutes to build a microcoil.

It took me over two hours to mount that coil. Could not get the little legs to stay under the posts. When I would go to screw it down one or the other would pop out. Could not see what I was doing, even with magnifier. Quite aggravating. Built second coil and finally got that mounted. DH had leftover turkey sandwich - he gave me a wide berth.

So I got it working. Came out to 1.2ohms. I lost a wrap or two in my struggles getting it mounted. It vapes. Not great, but it works so I am happy. Have to figure an easier way to mount these coils. My hands are not great either so it just makes the not seeing good worse.

But vaping and happier.

Alisa, what is the coil? what ohms? is it a microcoil, what ga kanthal, # wraps? Cotton wick or silica?

Did it ever work good? Are you getting vapor? Good taste? Burnt taste? Leaking?

I am going through growing pains with my Russian. First build was wonderful. This second build is a nightmare. I have been through 3 coils in last 2 days trying to get a good one. Lots to learn in the beginning. It will get figured out though. Be patient.

This is very much an anti-clone crowd. Besides, if they messed with another member they'd have to live with that reputation and it's a small world here. I guess this weeks vape mail is the Veritas. Coil building does look simple on that one.

I guess deeming regs are sceduled for 9am (no time zone) and a few cities in Tx hae fallen.

I know in my state it is illegal to sell tobacco without a whole list of chemicals added. It's illegal to order online for that reason and most sites won't ship to here. But I did find a couple. I'm sure I'll get a letter from the state at some point as all credit cards report to the state. I thought about prepaid, but some require addresses and some don't. I don't know which and then there's balances left over, surcharges on some and blah, blah, bah. Too much.

I did find figures that after the master settlement and after the FDA took over the role of oversight of cigarettes that less people were smoking and more people were dying, by a LOT. Cigarettes became more lethal under the FDA. They have also not complied with the full measures of disclosure of their ingredients (I don't think) just the most common ones - which also turns out to include a lot of the flavors were vaping. Flavors aren't such an unknown wild card after all - some of the bakery/creamy types might be. But traditional cigs also include stuff like caffine. That was surprising. The tobacco companies claim all this stuff has been fully tested ya, ya, ya. It's really a wicked web of regulations that are still onging for at least a decade. I was also challenged finding really clear reporting on the current state it's in. What I did find didn't make me very happy. I've got notes on some of the stuff. It was just too unreal.

I really do not want vaping to fall into the hands of BT or BP however. I'll help build an underground nic lab to avoid that if needed. With my bare hands. I find mail boxes with forwarding to ship nic and vape products to people who need it. I'm already looking for others that might be players in a black market if it comes to that level. The more I learn about tobacco companies the less I like them and even less is my trust. The lowest of the lows. Under bankers even, which are still a few rungs under cockroaches.

I've bounced around enough with this stuff that I need to face the fact that I'm not going to be able to do both successfully either. Nice idea while it lasted. Pt2's are rebuildable coils in case of the vapoclyoplse (yea, I really can't spell). I've been reviewing tanks and drippers and just don't see the advantage YET - for me, someone who can sit still unless I'm driving and the idea of drivng and dripping sounds worse than texting and driving. I need too much ready to go and flip between flavors too often to sink $50-$100 into something that quite often still has issues.

I'm not convinced the clones are that bad at fast tech, in fact there's a few that people say are better than the original - but just a few and that's a challeng when there's so many of them. Some of the mods sound drool-worthy. There's a m16 (or m11) brass that's good to go out of the box for $11. And I've always wanted the fuschia k100 just because. The nemisis = great too. A lot of them if you can sort through all the rest. Mods they got. Tanks and rda's? Passable, maybe. There's a kayfun for $22 that sounds ok - and others. I don't want just ok maybe, maybe. That stuff will improve.

A piece of good news - I LOVE Free State Vapor Co-Co-Nut (actually I need to look up that name again). Nice creamy smooth base with a subtle hint of vanilla undertone and fresh tasting real coconut mid tones. Not too rich, not too sweet and very real tasting. It's bliss. It also holds up to a large tank without fading. Very comfortable vape. No issues with coughing, burning, hayfever-clogging up. Yes!

Bad news - I was to test Tetra vapes in exchange for a review and they are awful. I don't want to write a review. They did a good job of matching me up to flavors I should like. I was really excited to try the chocolat mint and on the inhale it tasted just like a chocolate mint swirl ice cream. Mint, not menthol dominated. On the exhale I expected to blow soap bubbles any minute. i really wanted it to work. Tried about all I had, including steeping longer and no such luck. I don't want to finish it. That was the best one. The coffee started strong and black - at last found, but finished with a nasty, nasty aftertaste I can't quite place. Almost a lavender if you can picture that with coffee. I can't and didn't like it. Plum was non existant. Probably closest to a neutral smoke with no flavor. Not even the sweetness of VG.

I don't know how obligated I feel about leaving a review. All the others are positive. I know if I do leave one that I can't fake it, I'll be honest. I've learned that even vendors who say it's ok good or bad, usually don't really mean it and it can turn into a hassle. I'd rather let it go. Then I also get tired of seeing positive reviews of crappy products. Anyway, Tetra was a dissapointment.

Aik, I had the same opinion as you with Tetra Vape. When I calm down from the FDA garbage that has me considering changing citizenship and get some sleep I'll pm about it.
