Happy with my galaxy se for now. Will get something newer at some point. Preferably waterproof and drop resistance due to child (my new laptop has child protection warranty, anything he could do to it is covered, including liquid damage for the next 2 years and by then ill probably have bought a new one. Or he will have damaged it and ill get a replacement).

Child had check up today. They lowered his lasix to once a day, then in 2 weeks we stop it. Meaning I can buy 1/4 the diapers needed now. And he can go swimming now. Just not on lasix because sunlight inyerferes with the meds (makes him overheat quickly in sunlight). So swimming in 2 weeks

My initial response was a gesture. LOL! What's the point of all these gadgets if I'm still walking around writting things down all the time? The whole point of a "smart phone" is to do some of that for me. And if my Apple ID worked, we probably wouldn't be talking about this.

I know your right.

JUST AN FYI:

Yea! Progress!!! It all adds up.
I gotta admit every time I see the word lasix I think "eye surgery". LOL! I know better. It's a habit I guess. I've been trained by tv ads.

So the fun does not end. I call up the Granite company today to find out if we need to drive up there to approve the layout for the counters and island. They said no, I insisted that they email me photos so I can approve the layout, especially for the island.

I get the email tonight, after hours, and the layout is on a totally different slab of granite than the one we purchased. Of course, no one is there now and they are all leaving in the morning for a wedding in Atlanta. So I emailed not to cut that granite, it is not ours. I went through old emails and the office mgr there had sent me photos of our granite with our name on it on June 2. So I forwarded that to them. If they deliver the slab they have marked off we will not accept it.

The fun never stops over here. Looks like I am not getting my granite installed Tuesday. Now have to cancel plumber and appliance delivery. Ugh. Bah!!!

Why can't I do anything easy.

We were not 100% sure that it was not our granite. But my initial reaction to the layout photos was that it was an ugly piece of granite and we would not have chosen it. So I went hunting through old emails. Thank goodness I had the thought to have the granite company email me photos of the granite we chose with our name prominently on it. If they sold it since then, they have a problem.

well at least you are on top of whats happening. rather than most people waiting for it to be installed before they catch the problem. costing the company double labor and double material. no matter who's fault it is

And BTW... it's almost 10:30pm... I've had exactly 3 1/2 cigarettes today; I'm 1/2 cigarette, which I'll have at bedtime, from being smoke-free again. Tomorrow is the day I somehow muscle thru the morning without a smoke. I did it once, so I believe I can do it again, and in future I will remember that quitting gets harder everytime you do it, so best to stay that way! But I think I'll get some ELEVEN mg ready for the morning!! :D More than that might give me unpleasant side effects, but I need to do the max for at least a half hour, to get my nic level up ASAP.

Onward!!! To future hootchie-cootchie dances while hollering "I don't smoke anymore!" :D

I understand that Andria. is why we make a point to have all our Ducks in a Row when we start any job. I know we are an inconvienance to someone when working in their home. but I have perfected the bathroom renovation. with myself and 1 guy, we can tear out a complete bathroom, master usually..... rebuild the shower , tub surround and floor. all in 5 days. tear out on monday, grouting on Friday. wee do counter tops. but if the customer is getting Granite. I try to coordinate with the granite company to be there the week of their install. so we can tear out while we are there. and they install same week. which means the customer gets their bathroom back that saturday. sometimes there is a snag. but we hit it nail on almost every week.

What I really need is my wide galley style kitchen to be turned into a U-shape; it's wide, but still too narrow for an island, but wrapping the counters completely around the back wall would be great; more counter, more cabinet, more drawer space, and maybe even an extra sink. I'd also love to either paint or replace my cabinets; they're real wood, which is nice, but they're the ugliest dark-mustard color, ugh. But we can't do any of it till we can get one of those equity credit lines; this fall we'll have been here 3 yrs, so we're getting there. :thumb:

Our remodel is from an upstairs pipe burst. Not by choice. If you are doing a remodel voluntarily I suggest lots of planning and looking at photos of what you want and doing a lot of pricing and interviewing of contractors before you sign a contract.

Even under the best circumstances a kitchen remodel is one of the biggest life disturbers of all time. For at least twice as long as they all tell you.

And I read your next post. Yeah!! for you and the 3.5 cigarettes today. Congratulations and Good Job.

I need a kitchen renovation desperately but I'm scared to death of my kitchen being all torn up while it's happening.

Where were you when our pipe upstairs decided it did not want to play anymore? You are sounding like a dodo bird to me the longer this kitchen job goes on. (I am intending that to be a compliment to you).

Yeah at the moment my desk is in here in the kitchen, but that's going to be changing soon; the king size bed in my ("master") bedroom is actually 2 twins shoved together, but my husband has decided that instead of a double in his room, he wants one of the twins, so he can have his desk in there, instead of out in the garage. Which means I'll have room to have my desk in my room. So I won't be hanging out in the kitchen anymore, after we do all that changing around, which is a) a good thing for any diet I happen to be on, and b) convenient for whenever we do decide to bite the bullet and do the kitchen.

And yes, the secret of 27 yrs of wedded bliss is separate bedrooms for the last 6 -- he snores like a freight train and jumps around like an italian tumbler all night long; no one could get any sleep beside that, least of all a chronic insomniac! :D

I sorry. Lol. At least I was there when you needed me. I don't horde the knowledge and just make people pay for it. I share it willingly and for free You are almost there tho. Always seems like the end is the most stressful part. But you will survive. I def want to see pictures of the end product.

Best advice I can tell anyone doing a remodel
Is to plan plan plan. Of you get organized and shop for products and contractors. You can get exactly what you want without blowing the budget. Just requires you to be Involved. Seems like y'all are already there.

Hope they didn't sale your slabs That would be horrible

I took it as a compliment btw. Lol

Better than a locksmith ;)

I had no lock on my kitchen door until I married a city girl :p

I did have a nice plastic bag shoved in the hole though :D

Oh and my front door is falling off

And better than a computer tech. My house is full of open computers. At the moment I have all of 2 that will actually start up all the way. My desktop and my laptop. I have the parts for all of them to work properly just never enough time.

One house at a time - Philly is nearing completion.....then we'll see if that one wall is load bearing....if it isn't - a wider door ....and, and,.....the list is longer at home than in Philly!
