Sorry shari.

Im going to crash usps tracking by refreshing my tracking on my k1000 I bought.

And probably meet my mail lady as soon as she comes to my neighborhood. Sending her a message now to change her route today to deliver my package as soon as possible. Also have some computer parts she needs to borrow.

my mail lady is not really tech savy, but understands (or atleasts googles) my explanations and follows them to fix issues. she had a harddrive containing some work information, and personal information crash on her and she could not get the drive to load in her new computer.

She plugged it in properly, but it just will not be recognised. computer says its not plugged in. so im letting her borrow my usb recovery cable to see if that will let her atleast access the drive. if it does, then i can remote connect to her computer to force her full access to the drive (My Documents would be forbidden otherwise, as her profile would not match the one required) and let her copy and backup what is needed.

once she is done she will return my stuff. or my stuff and her harddrive and a usb drive for me to dump her data onto if she cant get it to work. i have an old harddrive that works (i am not using it for anything but a book holder..) that is the same model that i can try to swap parts on to get it to work to recover her data as a last ditch effort if she wants.

my package left major sorting center near me sometime within the last 2 hours (tracking will not give exact time, just the day...) so it will arrive at my local post office soemtime today. im hoping within the next hour or i will not be getting it until monday. (trucks are loaded at 7am and any packages arriving after that will not be delivered until next delivery day, unless i tell my mail lady i am expecting a package and give her tracking i have for her to pull it for me and deliver it on her way home, or have it set aside for me to pick it up.)

The draw was way too tight, almost like 2 minutes for an analog break so you have to bite the filter and suck it down tight. Out came the drill

1/16" (the smallest bit in the set that's not MIA in my messy garage) is a bit airy with my Octopus, but it's absolutely perfect on the RSST. I did about a 3/4 fill with what's looking to be my ADV, MBV Cinnamon Roll, 18mg. 9 watts on my MVP, and it really brings the flavor out. I might drop down to 8-8.5 and it should be just about perfect.

I think I found my favorite atomizer!!

The build wasn't horrible. Get your SS wick as tight as you can so it slips in the wick hole, then make a hook with the kanthal and trap it in the screw on the deck. I did a 3/4 wrap with some spacing, and it went straight across to the center post. The spring and washer make trapping it a breeze, even with chewed up fingernails...mine are almost non-existent. I'm glad I didn't go with one that has the knurled washers. They look like a pain in the .... to work with. Straighten out a paperclip and slip it inside the SS wick when you wrap. Just a bit of insurance. Pull it out before you dry burn it though...I almost forgot :D

Anyway, I pulsed it with my K100 and just nudged one of the center wraps, and it lit up all the way up and down. Dripped some juice to make sure it vaped, then squirted some juice in the hole that has the silicone plug to fill the tank.

Nice build, Jim!

That paperclip idea is good; have to remember that. With the knurled nuts, a big problem is the wire tugging the SS mesh over sideways as you tighten the top leg of the coil (looks like you had a bit of that happening in the picture ;-) Looks like the wick hole is insulated on the RSST (?) which is also nice. One less way to short out...

How did you treat your SS mesh? Are you getting any harsh taste from it?

Mark

I have been quiet here because I am up to my ears in contractor quotes and ridiculous estimates. I am speechless for the moment.

So where were all those ridiculous estimates when you were trying to talk with the insurance company????? (Or are you still gathering quotes for the insurance? - in which case high quotes aren't exactly a bad thing.....)

So, my nephew came over with a gift for me, a Trident Clone and a Private V2, what a pretty set up! With no clue, I will be forced now to learn some stuff. LOL

I will have to finally step into the Coil Zone! Heaven help me! If I fail, the pre-made at Fasttech come in 1.8 and 2.0 which is best for that setup.

Karen,

I like the Private V2. It's a tank, though; you can exercise and vape at the same time!

If you want to ease into coil winding, check out not just the pre-made coils, but also the un-coiled NR-R-NR packs (about $2.50 for a 100-pack). These help a lot because a) You know exactly how much wire to use in your coil (just coil the black part) and b) you don't have to worry about the length of your legs (since they're NR) so you have more flexibility positioning the coil.

Also, although the trident is setup for dual-coil, you can start out with a single coil and work your way up from there!

I have been quiet here because I am up to my ears in contractor quotes and ridiculous estimates. I am speechless for the moment.

Shari keep in mind not only have building materials gone up (just commercial locks alone have doubled in price in the last 5 years) but labor has gotten expensive due to overhead (taxes, insurance, licensing fees, etc) even small operations have to charge accordingly. I just had to incorporate as the self employment tax was killing me and have no full time employees now. Last year was my highest year dollar wise for sales yet worst year for profits and I was slow work wise. I do estimates and think holy crap I'll never get this one only to find I'm actually low. I just quoted some panic devices to a school at $1900 a piece and had a po in 2 minutes - I was $400 lower than the other low bidder  AND I quoted the top of the line stuff made in the USA.
What really irks me is most lock companies (like Schlage and Yale) are manufacturing in china or Mexico yet have annual 8-12% price increases :glare: you'd think they went from paying a good wage in America to pennies overseas they'd pass it to consumers. Nope :glare:

Also be sure you know what your getting - ask for specific brands names when possible. I have a competitor that vaguely quotes stuff then uses the cheapest crap import he can find. I won't sell my customers anything I believe inferior. I'll refuse to quote the job.

It's hard be an honest businessman in a corrupt marketplace :( I may be broke but I have a clear conscience.

BTW, I'm thinking of dropping the signature, any thoughts?

That is really up to "You" however, it gets just a little to much to try and read "Your" post when it is included in the post area everytime . . . So might I be so bold to suggest whatever "You" finally decide to use to put it in the "Signature Line" space provided by ECF as so many others have done . . . That way it would be separate from the actual post and still be included at the bottom . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Thanks but it's not only not me - I have a great staff of moderators.
I actually wish I had more time to put in. But without full time employees I'm just too busy IRL.

YEP - Really"LIKE" Them PIF MODS . . .

I torched it before rolling, then gave it some more fire before I slipped it in the wick hole. After that, I used the pulse method to light up the coil.

I think I tugged on the wire a bit when I trapped it in the washer, so it pulled the wick kind of close.

You're correct - the wick hole is insulated. That was a bit selling point for me.

I vaped through a tank of MBV last night, then I switched to Forbidden Fruit from Jameson's (now Jackson). Great vapor production even at 3 ohms!

Oh, I am gathering my forces. The estimate that left me speechless was in the amount of $19k to do just the island and 600ft hardwood. So high I got dizzy. You bet it will be sent to ins lady deciding our claim. With a hardwood estimate I also thought up in the clouds, until that $19k one. I am still gathering quotes.

DH friend walked out on DH so now DH and another buddy are painting. Not pro job so more mess. I am trying to find a corner to stay out of the way and out of shouting range, because I am stupid and do not know what I am talking about. What is a drop cloth? (that is a joke, DH does not seem to believe in them).

The paint color discussion went on most of yesterday. Whole house is in various tones of builder beige including all ceilings. The contractor friend was painting ceiling in kitchen a shade of brilliant white. I said something about it and WW3 ensued. You guys get the picture I am sure.

And I think I am starting to go through another round of Vaper's Tongue. All my juices taste like varying stages of dirty socks to jock strap. Yeah, that bad. I know it is just a temporary phase. I have tried all the usual remedies. It is just a matter of time for it to pass. The timing of its arrival could not be much more inopportune though.

So I may vape straight vg for a day or two, or vg with a few drops of tobacco in it. Yuk. I wonder of a bout of sudden stress or anger can set off Vaper's Tongue? I am drinking a swimming pool of water to stay hydrated.

thanks! I think I need to watch someone on you tube rather than read to learn this, Every time I read about it, I feel like it isn't getting through. It sounds to techie for me to process. Some things I learn reading and others by watching and doing myself. This appears to be one of them

If you need help with starting with coils I'll be happy to help.

Certainly, I would be happy to take a look at them. I wasn't disagreeing with what you said but rather reading what I had posted and didn't think that I had been clear in what I intended to say.

Gotta promise not to call me sir though, I sit on my .... and pretend to work for a living... sorry I had to bring in a joke.

First off - I Like the "Joke" . . .

AND "YES" - I will certainly No Longer call "You" Sir - "Madam" . . . ;)

AND - Just for the record and in all seriousness - If you are under 45 (besides the fact that Ya' Could be one of "My" children if I have any ? ? ? ;)) and given "My" age and all I have been though in "My" Life - I HAVE WITHOUT A DOUBT EARNED THE RIGHT - to be called "Sir" and/or "Mr." when being addressed (unless I directly give Ya' permission to call "Me" by "My" First Name - Can Ya' Tell that I really hate when people in Business situations think that "We" are "friends" and call "Me" by "My" first name - WE ARE NOT FRIENDS, WE ARE CONDUCTING BUISNESS) . . .

SO - Feel Free to address "Me" as such and not with what names are now going through "Your" Head at the moment . . .

Oh BTW: Please note both the line under "My" ECF "Handle"/"Nick-name" - "Uncle"

and "Signature-line"

. . . :D

Anyway - I have access to a real computer (as Ya' All can notice) - SO I have updated "My Blog" about "Vaping' & "Diabetes" issues with "Sugar"/"Sugar Subsitutes" that are in "E-Liquids" which I post a while ago and it is now available to read for anyone that might be interested:

I really do hope that it is somewhat Informative, especially for those who are dealing with Diabetes and gives "You" something to think about before ingesting anything labeled "Sugar Free" or just "Vaping" any "E-Liquid" that is available without finding out what the ingredients are . . .Just Sayin' . . .;)
