Hi all. Thanks to Lox and twg. DH and contractor got door open while I was sleeping in the morning. So I do not know how they did it and do not care and no broken door or gouges in molding. Think a screwdriver was involved at some point.

Finally, finally. The first row of hardwood has been nailed down in the kitchen. Hard to tell how it will look in the end yet but so far it is beautiful. We ended up having to replace the subfloor under the old kitchen island and there was some water staining at one wall so I made the contractor treat it for mold, just in case. Do not want a problem popping up in a year. Was told it was overkill but I do not care and DH got sick of listening to me :)angel:) so he just did the treatment.

Had the propane company out to the house for some reason and he inspected our fireplace logs and said that they were leaking propane into the living room. So we had him disconnect the propane and remove the logs. Now we have to find new fake logs. That is on a 'later' list since the pipe is capped.

We are replacing the stove and dishwasher with stainless steel ones and now DH wants a stainless refrigerator too. So looks like I am getting one of those too. No time to shop for any of it because contractor is here every day, even this Sunday. I do not feel comfortable leaving strangers in the house alone for a few hours even though he is a nice guy and the neighbor's brother. Maybe next week.

I have packed up most of my ecig stuff and have it in my bedroom so I have access to it. So much for the nice steeping setup and jumbled organized mess on my coffee table. Now I am hunting through two boxes of stuff. But it works and I am content with it for this short while.

Hope all of you are well and enjoying the approach of summer. Top, I hope all goes well for the little one. Hi, Maria. Good to see you back here.

Hi, Marla! Nice to see you again. Sorry to hear about your job issues. I'm hoping everything works out for you and that you managed to stay away from the cigarettes during your stress. I still feel like I'm only 1 cigarette away from smoking full time even though I haven't smoked in almost a year.

Hey, Karen, and anyone else interested in the eRoll. I found a site with the Ovale eMini, which is the exact same as an eRoll but with a different brand name. They have the kits and everything else you might need and the lowest prices I've ever seen for them. They also have a 12% off sale going on until the end of June which makes it even cheaper. Check it out if you're interested.

KokoVapes - Ovale eMini

awesome pricing thanks Thaya!

Hello my darlings,

I've been an absentee for many weeks now and have missed y'all. Caught up only for the last 10 pages or so, and howdy and best wishes to everyone and the things each is going through, like TD with the upcoming child's surgery and Karen trying to come back from not feeling well, and Shari and the contractor blues. HUGS to all of you!

I was absent due to a really demanding operations manager consulting job that I desperately needed, first 4 months of this year. Boss was a bit of a disaster, we worked by remote, and he has thoroughly-diagnosed anger management and other issues. I tried my best to be impervious to his tantrums, especially because I really could never understand what was making him angry. "Stay calm and professional," I said to myself.

Well, in hindsight, I probably should have blown up at him bigger and better than he did, the first time he did it -- because perhaps, my tolerance was giving him "permission" to continue being irrational. Anyhow, by end of April, I finally just agreed with his blow-up and said "yep, fine, I'm packing up the equipment and sending everything back to you now." And did. And now once again dammit I have no income. HATE that part!

Anyway, vaping got me through that rather upsetting crisis without smoking, which is a further testament to the value of vaping for us addicts. An old college friend of mine quit smoking last year without vaping, and in a recent mess involving her mom (she too is an only child) being in the hospital, she has gone back to fulltime smoking.

My point is, no matter whether it's smoking-and-vaping, or vaping-only, VAPING HELPS!

Well, just glad to hear you aren't getting the verbal abuse from the boss anymore! Hang in there things will improve. Good to see you!

I had to leave early Saturday, pretty much right after I didn't pass semi finals because girlfriend was impatient to wait any longer and I didn't think I could keep up at the bar.

Then the Internet crashed at the bar. I fix it only to have someone hit a $500 jackpot on a lottery machine JUST as the Internet drops and say payout void. I was able to correct the Internet and fix the machine to get reconnected to payout. Felt good.

Last night before I leave. Girlfriend wants to change to 1st shift schedule. When she returns to work she will be on it. Trying to swap departments to chemlab (more pay, less work) or the 3rd shift supervisor position. Big boss said no to supervisor as they are "looking for candidates from outside of the company". Told girlfriend to swap departments and look for a new place. Employers should promote from within. Especially when they give her the responsibility of a supervisor, but not the pay or recognition.

Last things to pack is ecig stuff. And laptop. And tablet. Thinking of taking everything for my ecigs except my diy supplies. Wondering how random people would take to a green epipe... lol. Lots of smokers at designated area last time I was there for a procedure. Since was closest allowed spot.

Hey I'm just stating my professional (certified master locksmith) opinion based on almost 30 years in the locksmith / door industry. I've consulted on 4 books, been published 5 times in trade journals, and been a consultant for 5 major lock manufacturers' on projects from Saudi Arabia to Chicago to the Pentagon.
So just my :2c:

Hi Lox,

Didn't mean to step on your expertise. I just did it as a hobby, although I am very rusty at it! My Dad showed me how to do it as a useful "handyman" skill.

I do know that in the '80's I was able to pick the office-door locks fairly easily at my company, and there was nothing like seeing my co-workers' jaws drop when I managed to open a door after the company president locked his keys in the office! (It also came in handy when our least-favorite manager went on vacation for 2 weeks; even though he had locked his office door before he left I got us in; we replaced his door with a solid panel (it was that channel-lock kind of floor-to-ceiling partition stuff). There's something very satisfying about it if you succeed, and if you fail, you can always shrug it off with a "Well, this is a really hard lock to pick, no shame there!"

Like I said before, there are a bunch of locks out there that I wouldn't have a chance of picking. But since it's an interior door lock (I think) I would guess that at least there's enough of a chance of picking it that it's worth a shot. And imagine the bananas if our coil-winding, insurance-adjuster-reaming truly nice person comes pack to say she's added lock-picking to her list of talents!!!!

So go for it Shari! (And if you don't succeed, lie so I won't look like a total idiot in front of Lox!)

Darnit, Shari, you're making me look bad! ;-)

Anyway I don't know if any of you have followed the Rayon-wick thread but lots of people are excited about this as a wick material. Ordered a box of CelluCotton from Sallys (which they are taking their sweet time processing!) Anyway, today I had to drive my daughter down to get her wedding-dress altered (She's getting married end of this month, which is just one of the reasons I haven't been around much!)

Wouldn't you know it, there's a Sally's 2 stores down from the place! With my superior powers of self-control I waited in the car for all of about 10 seconds before going in and buying a box of the stuff. So I now have 500 feet, and another 500 coming whenever Sally's decides to ship it.

To make a long story short; if you'd like to try out some of this stuff, PM me with your address, and I'll send you some to try. I figure I can get a decent amount in a regular envelope if I vacuum-seal it (Picked up a foodsaver for $6 at a yard sale, and went online to discover how you can use regular baggies with it - but not until after spending like $9 for a box of the "real" ones :( Hopefully the vacuum will hold, otherwise you may wind up getting an envelope that looks like a puffer fish!

Hope everyone is having a good summer!

Best of luck Top; hope all goes well!

I'm using the rayon for wicking now, and it works great! You guys should give it a try.

Crikey, twg! You're gonna have enough to last 2 lifetimes!

Yeah, the Sally's I went to had one each of the 500-foot box, and the 3-pound box (which looks like about 3 times as much).

I think I showed admirable restraint just getting the 500-foot one......The big one was only like $7 more! The cashier was polite enough to ask me if I had a Sally's membership card (It's pretty obvious that I barely made it out of a "beauty-Supply" store without undergoing spontaneous human combustion)

But, like I said, I would be more than happy to send out some to anyone here who wants it. Just as long as I have enough left to get through my next perm and mani-pedi (man-mani-pedi?) (I don't know, I'm still not comfy with "mani-pedi" sounds like something totally disgusting!!!!)

Its ok to look like a puffer fish. I had a tiny bag of peanuts on a plane that was fine on the ground, fine in the air, then a puffer fish on the ground. Looked normal in the air every trip after that.

At the hotel now. Waiting on mom and sister to get back from the store so I can head to the casino attached to the hotel lol. Have $10 voucher for slots. Last time I won $50 from my voucher.

Hi all. I am pooped. Slept through the lock opening procedure so sorry, twg, I was not able to test your method, or yours Lox. Kinda glad I did not have to.

I used to really like shopping. I am hating shopping. Especially for appliances. Nasty, expensive things. Everything is going digital and I have a couple of those types already and the touch screen stuff does not last or live up to the hype. Been reading and reading and rereading reviews on double oven stoves, dishwashers and refrigerators and I am about done. Fed up done. I do not really need an oven. Maybe we will never have Thanksgiving turkey again. I will buy a $30 hotplate and call it a day. lol Tomorrow is another day.

What is this rayon stuff from Sally Beauty Supply that is being used for wicks? I have not heard of it and how it would be used. I am exclusively using cotton balls. Finally figured out just about how much to use in my Russian 91%. I had one wick last me almost a week but when it died it went bad from one puff to the next. No warning. I am lucky that I am vaping light juices in my R91.

I think I am just as addicted to my vaping as I was to my cigarettes. I do not get jittery or any physical symptoms if I do not have my Provari with me, but I tend to reach for it more often than I did my cigarettes. It may not have been a great idea to allow myself to vape in the house. I never smoked in the house. So now I am vaping all kinds of times night and day. Like a pacifier. It is rather sad. But I am not smoking so who cares at this point. Hopefully this is better for me. If I need a pacifier at my age, so be it.

Shari,

There is a very long (and extremely fast-paced thread) on rayon wicks here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ck-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit.html

It looks a lot like cotton but without the lumps; it's very smooth. Seems to be an excellent wicking material.

I always thought Rayon was a plastic, but it's actually just pure cellulose. It is the first "artificial" fiber (made originally about the turn of the century) but it's usually made from cellulose extracted from wood (so it's only kinda man-made).

I'd be happy to send you an envelope of the stuff to try!

Ok. Todays update. Went through 2 800mah batteries in k1000. Cant remember if I packed charger.

Child had all the preop tests. Echo cardiogram, ekg, met surgeon. Surgeon we have been seeing is transferring out of state in a month. Met his partner/replacement whi will be doing the surgery under supervision of past surgeon. Child had blood drawn for tests and the nurses held him down rather than listen to me that he would be fine if I held him. So after almost punching the nurse and 15 minutes of blood curdling screaming blood was drawn. Back in hotel now. Won $5 in slot dollars. Girlfriend didn't win again today. She would of wonn if she let me go through line first. Lol.

Eating steak tonight. Pondering taking a nap first. Child is wearing headphones and watching Netflix on tablet

First update from operating room came through. Ghey have started cutting into the scar tissue trying to not leave any new scars.
Have no cell service as im underground. Wfi keeps cutting in and out. Not sure if I should call tech support to help them fix it or not.

About to sleep. Child woke up at 3:30am after falling asleep at midnight. Grr. And wasn't allowed to eat or drink after midnight. So was cranky baby.
