I really hope these batteries are worth the wait :D

They will be. I have had RC cars and airsoft guns for years now and based on the information out there for battery specs and required charger I'm assuming these are Tenergy 7.4V 1SP batteries.

I'm just waiting to see what connectors they use and then immediately upgrade it to a 5000 mah 7.4V lipo I have on hand. Just need to solder the male and female connectors to xt-61 to make it plug and play with my other hobbies.

Anyone have any direct communication with Artisan? This is beginning to drag out to a very uncomfortable situation.

Yes, have just received the following email.

S.Max Email said:
Dear SuperMax Order #1 Customers,

I understand there is some anxiety amongst you caused by the delays in shipping of the first SuperMax order and my lack of response and the posting of updates. First, I would like to apologize for not posting anything for the last little while, however I have been devoting all of my time to assembling and stress testing the first SuperMaxes. This has been taking longer than I anticipated, especially since I wanted to make sure each unit delivered the maximum amount of power and current that was rated in the specs, and I have been completely focused on this task.

You have to understand that Artisan Vaping is a very small company and I do nearly all the work. As such, when I am absorbed in one task I have the choice to either take time away from this to do other things, or concentrate on getting the first task done. I have been doing the latter over the course of the last week.

The good news is that the SuperMax testing is going very well and the units are performing within spec down to loads of .3 ohms and lower. Each unit is being tested individually to meet the high-current and high-power specs.

I anticipate we will be making the first shipment (of about 10 units or so) next week. I will also be going to VapeBash in Chicago, so anyone who is also going please tell me and I will be able to deliver your SuperMax in person. The shipments will continue when I get back (the week of the 14th) and will go out as they pass the testing. No worries here, they used P.Pal for the transaction so feel totally secure in my purchase.

Again, I apologize for the delays and any worry my lack of communication has caused. The good news is, you will soon be one of the first people to be getting the most powerful, compact, reliable and advanced mod on the market.

I figured that this was the case, especially after waiting the same delays when the DNA30 first released. Many are still waiting on orders for the dna chip so it's not a big surprise that Max is taking longer to ship then everyone hoped. Patience is a vapers best friend when pre-orders are involved, delays are to be expected.

Yeah. jk called it early. He said it would be April before they would ship. I thought he was just being an ... at the time, but it turns out he was right. I'm hoping to be in on the first batch. :D

Here's a couple of pics of the laser engraving stuff:

Why not just say that instead of allowing all the speculation, rumors & frustration? I've already seen a post on their FB page calling them frauds and suggesting they are stealing the money. Just a once a week update would stop all of this & allow everyone to follow along. As it is the silence is just stupid and very bad business.

Yeah, it's is frustrating the Max is late to the party, but am not concerned about Fraud at all. Paying with PayPal gives one strong protection, and will get money back if needed. Patience is a requirement whenever on gets in on a pre-order for any vape gear. And yeah, they need improvement on the communication skills for sure. lmao.

I haven't contacted them because, don't want to add to their frustration on not completing Max in the time they first thought, and have them take it out on my Max. lol but yeah, frustration is something we all have to deal with in life.

Email received this morning, 4-23-14: I really appreciate communication of this kind. I assures me that customers are appreciated. Thanks so much to Artisan for acknowledging that customer communication is important.

Good Morning.

To ensure all our customers are up to date with the latest news concerning the SuperMax I am going to do my best to lay any concerns aside.

We first wish to apologize for the continued delay. We realize that you are anxious to receive your SuperMax and the delays must feel like an eternity. You can be assured we are working day and night to get the SM's ready for shipment as quickly as we can. We are just as excited to get this brand new technology into the hand of our customers.

We are a very small company of 2 people, me as the sales manager and John who builds, programs, and tests each and every one of the SM's individually. Unfortunately, this causes the testing phase to be slow.
However, this is a necessary phase to ensure each device is as perfect as possible. We do not want to send out something that does not meet the standards our customers deserve. Happily, the testing phase is starting to come to an end which is very good news because it means we will be able to ship soon.

We therefore would like to applaud you for your continued patience with us. Please if you have any concerns regarding your SM, please email me directly. You are now part of the ArtisanVaping family as you are the first ever to own a SM which makes you very special to us.

We are working very hard to get the first shipment out very soon.

Thank you again for your patience and faith in the SuperMax.

Artisan Vaping.

Was greatly appreciative of this direct email. Sure it's frustrating for delays, but it's all part of the Vaping Game. Stoked to mount Rose on Max, Built Rose up and informed her of her intended. Soon to announce the vapenuptial's of S.Max & R.Tue

Pre-orders for items that aren't finished is always a bad move - I've seen this thread so many times before.

Well thanks for that, guess I'll continue to make bad move after bad move. Found that with some highly sought after vape gear, pre-orders are the only way to obtain them. That's how I've acquired several excellent pieces. I look at it as more of a strategic move of collection acquisition expansion.

How pathetic!

We've heard it too many times from AV in the last THREE MONTHS since order!
"Working day and night", "as perfect as possible", "assembling and stress testing"...
Stress testing my ...! They could have assembled and stress tested F16 by now!

The fact is that they decided to accept orders and take our money WITHOUT HAVING A PRODUCT, period!
There's only one word for that! Or maybe two...

And these days, the only thing that they're doing day and night, and very, very thoroughly is deleting comments from their FB expressing legitimate anger, suspicion, blast... They make me sick!
