Actually I don;t know about the carto but the Mega atomizers WILL fit on the Chameleon WITHOUT adapters but you need to out them on very tight or pull the center pin of the atty down just a mm or less.

Hey chev, thanks for the tip!!! I did not try the Ego Mega Atty on the Chameleon, but will now :)

Totally agree Wway! I love the small size and they do preform very well with the Joye 510 and our own 510 2.0 series. I was amazed on the performance on 3.4V and the run time is great. I still use it about 40% of the time, but the Highdrain 16340's on the Chameleon spoiled me too!

About the New Chameleon, we got set back a bit. As our machining source fell through. The connection was being built from a friend to another. I tried numerous attempts to go straight to the "more than willing" machinist but the source has been very busy with personal matters and has beating around bush for a direct connection. Project Infinity is still in the works and when it arrives, it's going to blow the roof on the vaping world. However, the new Chameleon was meant to bring us the funds needed for affording the production of Infinity. I been searching for a machinist on and offline, but to no avail just yet.

Ok so I'm confused... there is going to be an improved Chameleon, THEN the Infinity, so they are two different things? See I thought it was one in the same. I hope it gets worked out.

Ok this is so Switched can make fun of me :) I sold my Ego because I did not like the lower voltage after I got my Chameleon. Well now I got these cartos that are 2.4-2.6 ohms and they are a bit too strong for me at 3.7volts so I bought an Ego USB battery and should have it in the morning. Even I can't stay away from the Ego

Happy vaping!!

WWay, I will never make fun of you, but will openly admit that I am glad you have come back to your senses. :D

I vape 'em all big and small, slim and tall. I vape 'em all! The eGo will always be my favourite PV. Why? because it is special. I use all my devices on a daily basis, with the exception of my spares. They all have their places in the daily ritual, This includes a plethora of different liquids and atomiser combinations as well. I vape 3.1, 3.7, 5 and 6V intercheangibly. I vape 'em all, big and small. But my go to PV is my eGo. There's a saying...

Those who like it, like it allot.

I received a 2Ohm 510 which I was waiting for to give that puppy a whirl on my eGo, which although will be stressing the batt somewhat it will not be as bad as a 1.5Ohm LR.

I am gald I never got on the mega eGo cartos or atty/carts. Why? JoyE turned the eGo into an 801. That is my opinion and as you know, you hate 801 carts LOL. But in all fairness it comes down to personal preference. many do not like vaping with the cone. Cool, I do. If it wasn't for the cone, I wouldn't own an eGo. The mega eGo series has abolished the cone, a step in the wrong direction IMHO and one that was not supported by Janty, but rather reluctantly accepted.

In the end though in all fairness, what ever keeps a person off analogs is all that truly matters. I may voice my opinion but will never force it on anyone knowingly. Unless they are about to make a serious mistake, at which time I will endeavour to forcibly persuade them if I can :)

Uh, oh... another possible justification for me to get an eGo/Riva thingy, a CE2 carto device.

Switched, you've got every possible permutation of voltage on hand and use them all daily! Do you have any variable voltage devices? Must have crossed your mind. One ring to bind them all.

In the spirit of keep it simple stupid (KISS), I've been trying to standardize my personal setup on a single voltage and even battery size. Just fewer moving parts to deal with. I've zeroed in on a sufficient 3.7v power supply and 2 ohm attys, and a few different tobacco flavors as my personal preference... and I'm a happy vaper.

But then there are these new things that come out and tempt me and screw up the works :p

I know I told Vapo... never to say never LOL. but in all honesty. A vari-volt will never touch my lips, because as you state below it defies the KISS principle.

Back to the vari volt. The sweet spot is between 4.5-5Volts. This when using the charts as I had a long convo with Vapo... can be achieved by varying the reisistance in atomisers. The delivered wattage is the key, and that falls between 6-9watts. Now I will not deny that folks look for more power and rekless throat hits, but I believe this group (our little family) are more on the conservative side of things and refined pleasures vs TH and vapour production. It is not hard to decipher when we read what folks are posting here, where there pleasures lie.

Now I have stated many times that all things being equal, a 3.7V device is a 3,7V device, which is true. they all vape the same but, start playing ith attys and batteries and wow, no need to purchase another device. That is why the vary volt device just ain't in the cards. many bought it for variance, yet most openly state they vape at one setting, "their" sweet spot.

Vlad has found his nirvana, an LR 801 on a 16340 3.7V IMR batt. Then he did the unthinkable he vaped a 510 at HV. It opened up a brand new world to him. I absolutely hate the 801 at 3.7V, but at 6V of yeah baby, bring it on. I do not like the 510 at HV, it has a place but not on a daily basis. Would it matter if I can fine tune it? I don't know. Depending on which batts I am using, I do have a large selection of voltages available, not to mentioned wattage produced. Isaac has fine tuned the SLB attys, I will admit that they need a thorough trial to appreciate their full value. What I like is we know what we are getting.

All that being said, the evolution is exponential and we need to slow down and smell the coffee vice always looking at the neighbours lawn. Although my P18 is new, it was purchased 3 months ago for a specific reason, nothing else outside of longevity and simplicity. It was acquired the same day as the lizard. the lizard was bought for versatility and the capability of HV. Many new devices came on the market in that time frame, none impressed me enough to pull the trigger. That being said, several devices were not purchased solely based on the vendor or who he was, a sad but true tale.

Yes, a variable voltage device in and of itself is less simple than a fixed voltage device. But there is another take on simplicity. If you view your collection of PVs as a whole and consider that a single device could be dialed to provide the vaping experience you get out of any one in that collection. A collection of one is simpler than a collection of many ;)

I know your criteria for a device is not strictly the vaping experience provided via the device. There are other factors and rightfully so. But I must say that I am surprised by your strong dislike of the idea of a variable voltage device given your strong taste for all manner of voltages :D

LOL Goldielocks LOL. Touche my friend, touche :D

It probably stems from survivability should an all points ban come about. I am dug in so to speak. Outside of my 510s, stick and eGos. I can fix or build anything I own.

Aww Switched I knew you wouldn't really make fun of me, but would be amused that I returned to the Ego. I did get it today and this one hits more like the Chameleon. It doesn't have the weaker hit I was looking for  Now I'm not sure if it is because this is new, or because it is the USB model or because my original set was a Tornado (albeit they are not suppose to be different).

I was super busy at work today then went out tonight so I haven't had time to really play with different cartos on it. I just swapped out cartos from other devices to see how they hit. I'm going to play more tomorrow.

I think I'll just stay out of the VariVolt discussion ;)

Now I am confused

You are right there shouldn't be any difference between a Tornado and an eGo, or the fact that it is a USB batt as we know it is the PCB that controls the output votage which is 3.1V.

When you mention cartos which ones are you talking about? The new mega cartos for the eGo or something totally different? e.g reg cartos. 2.4 - 2.6 Ohms should not present a problem because a stock atty for the eGo is 2.2Ohms. There is a difference wrt vaping with and without the cone, quite a substantial one AFAIC.

I was never a carto fan but I do enjoy the 510 SLBs Isaac sells. My only other experience with cartos was KR8s which suck buffalo balls, and my Safe Cig but I believe those cartos had more to do with the contained liquid than the cartos performance per se.

Wrt VM's opinion on vari-volts I understand and supports where he is coming from. I believe you have a buzz, and I am cool with that. It's just not for me.

I haven't even gotten out the Ego Mega cartos and atty yet :) The 4 cartos I tried were ones I had in use on 4 other devices at the time. I would take a hit off that device, then move the carto to the Ego and hit on it. The two Lazers both had the E2 cartos on them, which is what I bought the Ego for and on both the hit was stronger with the Ego then the Lazers (both with fresh batteries). The Chameleon had one of Isaac's SLB cartos and the hit was the same, but not sure how old the battery in the Chamy was at the time. The Buzz was is set to 3.4 with a 2.4ohm 510 carto on it and the hit between it and the Ego was the same.

The Ego battery tested 3.4 volts without load. I need AL to make me a 510 setup to test under load.

What is surprising me is the Lazers are hitting so much weaker than everything else. Hadn't really noticed it until now. Of course the one I use mainly is almost 7 months old. Maybe the switch is going out. I am not exactly gentle on these things :) Whatever the case I like the E2s on the Lazers but not on anything else. On everything else they are a bit harsh to me.

I did not get the cone with the USB battery because I'm using it with my necklace and I have the loops that go around the battery set around the cone threads. Figured I could order one at another time if I decided I needed it.

I have jury duty tomorrow so the Chamy, the Lazer and the Ego get to go to court :) I thought about taking the WetBox and the Buzz and they could think I had a pipe bomb and a detonator, then I could get out of jury duty, but I'd probably need a jury of my own then

A gizmo like this...

Voltage Adapter

... and a handful of 10 ohm resistors from radio shack would work. Put 5 resistors in parallel to get a 2 ohm load, 4 for a 2.5 ohm load, and 3 for a 3.33 ohm load.

Oh no Wway, two completely different devices.
The New Chameleon is aimed to be made as a tube shaped mechanical device with optional voltage ranging from 3.7-8.4V.
Infinity is to be on the electrical side of things with a unique design and the ability of 3.7-8.4 variable voltage by the decimal point via lcd screen. Also I have designed an adapter to accept 901-801 and 510 alike. I'll send you some more info if you like. :)

Before you drop that hammer Mr Madness, I have a very reputable distributor that is taking the initiative to create their own variation of a unit similar to the Ego, this one is said to have a constant output of 4.2V while retaining 1300mah and the size of an eGo. We're going to do some testing on it when the production is complete and then decide if we will be stocking them as our new-user friendly device. :D
