So how about a rheostat on the Prodigy... switchable between the old specs and the new ones? :)

well you could have that if the switch/wiring housing was a easily replaceable single unit ....you have one with the resistor and one without and just switch them out when you wanted either one ...i guess thats sorta the question i was hinting at

Too large Walrus ... We could like add one (make the length roughly 1/4 - 1/2" longer) but asthetically, with the dial *outside* the tube ... it just won't look good. Combine with the added length, and its just not feasible for V1. Perhaps we can look more in to it for the next version :) I'm always open for upgrade/improvements/etc...

hehe glad you had fun but what i actually meant is the switch housing with the wiring inside of it user replaceable ...I mean basicly is the whole switch user replaceable

Hey Combo ... No, the actual switch/switch housing/wiring/resistor/etc... is NOT user replaceable. I can't warranty something if it was, because God knows what modders would do ;) They housing (that keeps everything within) is actually pinned in.

ok thanks for letting us know i understand the issues with such a device with offering a warranty ...it would be cool though maybe something to think about for V2 ...i would probably try and make it a tottaly sealed unit if thats possible ...that way a modder would have to rip it open with a saw or knife or something like that to get inside ... and of course ripping something open with a saw or knife would void the warranty

if your testing shows 5v is the best way to go then it all sounds great.
fun r&d,,
have you tried using a cartridge at 5v ? i might have missed a cartridge test on another thread ?
i agree with Walrus about wanting the long battery life but i guess at 750 mah it will still last around 4 or 5 times longer then a pilot battery.

i'm not bothered about battery life .... just buy more batteries ....... i want a shorter draw ... thats all i'm after ... when demonstrating to people you have to pull for at least 4 seconds for the audience to be amazed ..... a shorter draw will be such a good selling point

and when you have 6 people all huddeed around you watching in anticipation ... 4seconds is one hell of a long time

I'm all about function over form. It could be the size of a mag-lite if it did what I wanted :)

From the looks of it, my Prodigy may get here before my Janty Stick!
That's what I like.....UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER!!! That is what a smart company does. I bought my prodigy thinking I may wait a full month for delivery, now I may get it in half that time! Bought my "Stick" with a "Delivery on the 19th" promise and wont be getting that for another week. Good job man! :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

See, my problem is I'm already used to the SD batteries... and I change them 2-3 times a night. I want to leave the house without a couple of spares in my pocket :)

LOL

We are already going against *the grain* with the size of the Prodigy. Don't want to kill too many birds with our first stone.

We will be making a smaller version of the Prodigy that will be due on in a couple months, and that will likely be a much different design than the original, so we may be able to feasibly add some cool features :)

More Voltage Does Mean Shorter Draws ... BUT, you have to refill MUCH more often.

1-2 second draws on a 901 atomizer @ 6v+ will net you the same amount as a 5-6 draw at 3.7v

more than hapy to refill more ..... shorter draw shorter draw .. its what got me interested ... i'm still waiting for my free i inhale and free screwdriver and free GG ...... even tryingto wangle a free kissbox to see what the fuss is about .. but i have a dura c ... and i dont think it will ever be surpassed unless theres more powere ... unlimited power ... lol waaaaa

Forgive if this has been asked already (I didn't see this asked in this thread, but I might have missed it).

For those of us who ordered a 3.7 battery, what will happen? I went ahead and put an order for a 18650 on my 801, because I wanted to try the difference between the two voltages with my 801 atomizer, but now that the resistor's in place, I think I'll stick with your recommendation of ~4.7-5.0. Will you guys be automatically switching orders of 18650 batteries to the RCR123a's?

Also, how are cartridges at this voltage?

Yes, we will infact be automatically switching them to RCR's :)

I'm glad you still remained flexible on the configuration, I , like Walrus bought the Prodigy with 3.7 volts in mind. Email sent requesting the original configuration and I'm still looking forward to getting it in.

No problem Frankly ... I know there are some hardcore esmokers wanting the 6v+ pumping through :)

Sorry if I'm completely wrong here: my understanding of all of this is considerably less than limited! However, am I correct that the intention of having a higher voltage is to increase he hit/vapour? I assume that the additional voltage increases the temperature?

If the above is correct, have you considered the effect of heating VG to higher temperatures and the possible production of acrolein?

I know that this was a worry on the forum for a while, but that ecopure was tested to see if any was produced through vaping, and that worry was more or less put to rest as a result of that test. However, presumably, it was tested at 'normal' atty temperatures and not the temperatures being produced by higher voltage devices.

Is this something you have considered / tested for?
