Haha...oh dear. You can't even face a big hard cold fact that the rest of the smoking world wouldn't dare use your beloved big ecigs/mods in public! Stop arguing over this, because you're dead wrong.

Why are cigs like blu number one sellers? Why where blu bought out? Because most people want small ecigs! (They are the future)

Stop getting insecure its pathetic. I'm starting to think you feel threatened by the mini ecig and you somehow think you are special because you use mods/large ecigs.

Because of a huge advertising budget and the ability for product placement due to already existing cigarette product placement in convenience stores and drug stores. Unfortunately, most users of their product do not stay with it because it simply does not work to deliver the nicotine with such an inefficient package and high cost of the disposables.

Some will then do a google search, learn there ARE efficient delivery systems, and switch. I have yet to meet ONE PERSON who started with a Blu and are still using them more than a year later.

I also hope Im wrong but I think that when they regulate e-juice (we all know its coming sooner or later) that they are going to tax it like a pack of cigarettes. It might not happen all at once, the first tax might even be moderate but eventually we'll be paying more in taxes than we do for the actual product just like with cigarettes.

All that extra income that we enjoyed from not smoking is gonna go into these new taxes and in turn thats going to negatively affect all he cottage industries that have sprang up .people will be buying less mods and accessories because they dont have more disposable income and companies will end up going under.

This opens the door for companies like Lorillard and Phillip Morris to come in and start buying the remaining companies up and eventually they will control this market and the release of products just like they did with cigarettes.

This is exactly what I worry about. Especially with nic. Getting taxed so high that it makes even DIY too expensive to be feasible.

isnt there products that you can add into diy that give a throat hit like nicotine, i dont use nicotine in my liquids anymore. i went cold turkey from analogues and picked up vaping ( again) after this time because it wasnt the nicotine that was an issue , i missed the actual process of smoking.

really by removing nicotine from my liquids i cant see were the tax would come into effect for me personally as i procure pg and vg directly from pharmacies.

if they do tax liquid nicotine i can only imagine that they would go further and actually restricting supply entirely as a " quit-kit" much like methadone and such . making it pescription based.

Which is the biggest reason I dont like companies like Blu and Njoy to start with. Not only are they lying to people by saying their product is the best there is but if you figure that on average 7 people out of 10 dont like them and 2 out of that 7 are lucky or smart enough to make it to this forum it means 5 threw theirs into a drawer and never want to try electronic cigarettes again.

Shhhh, don't even think such thoughts too loudly. Although, hopefully in ten years time I am successful in weening from nic and able to vape 0 mg.

I am afraid of this as well, especially with the FDA going to congress soon. Which is why I have nearly 2 liters of 100 mg/ml safely stored. Wizard labs is on sale  That amount will last me years and years, and if the worst does happen I can titrate myself down slowly. As you said, I can get the PG, VG and flavorings along with mesh and wire easily as they have so many other applications.

but on the plus side pure vg is used as a cough recipe so i can buy it for like $1 for 200mls haha. cant catch me on that one i just tell them im not well.

incidentally , since ive been using that stuff in my liquid. i havnt had a sore throat !. i always get a bad throat when i get a cold during winter. this year. not a thing !

Well, looking on the bright side, nicotine has been shown in studies to have some good benefits (and to be honest, not so good for some people as well). I don't think you "sinned" by adding some. I am not addicted to caffeine; I don't drink coffee or soda. A lot of people are. I like to consider nicotine and caffeine about equivalent as far as stimulants go. So if you use it, I surely don't think you have sinned.

I too no longer have the stuffed sinuses, hacking cough and sore throat! Isn't it wonderful? And now I get my nicotine with such yummy flavors! I have no problem with my nicotine addiction, and am so glad I gave up the 4000 other chemicals I used to inhale.

I surely hope that in 10 years others feel the way I do and everyone can have access to a clean nicotine delivery system at the affordable prices I am paying when I buy my nic on sale and mix my own juices. I have zero expenses now, my investment is over if I want it to be. I have the permanent PV's, enough mesh and wick, nic, flavors and PG/VG to literally last years. All for less than one year of smoking cigarettes. I surely hope others in the future can have the same opportunity.

Exactly. If the blu disposable I picked up 10 days ago had been all that was available I think I would have gone an bought a pack of real smokes. Thank God I found this forum and have better equipment now.

Sounds like a dream to me right now. I haven't even ever vaped before period. I just saw an ad on TV. And being the kinda person that prides myself in knowing as much of something before I buy, I ended up learning that blu wasn't gonna cut it for me and that the Apollo standard kit wouldn't either. I settled for what I consider the best of both worlds... something standard with some room to grow as the glut of info on these forums was overwhelming when all I wanted to do was just stop smoking analogs. I'm happy I discovered this forum though. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be brewing my own juices lol.

I just can't shake the feeling this is all too good to be true. When the pockets of the big analog manufacturers really get affected, I fear things may change for the worse. Kinda why I'm hoping all these independents start working together and fast.

Most people don't want small ecigs when they taste the flavor, get the awesome TH and plumes of vapor from a bigger ecig. I speak from experience.
I started vaping in November of 2011 after being a 2PAD Marlborough Red smoker. I started with the Blu ecigs for all of a week before switching to an Ego setup. Stayed on the Egos for about 3 months before moving to my first VV mod and haven't looked back. Personally, I don't think a cig-a-like will ever compete with the bigger mods because the form factor is too small to provide the power needed to get a satisfactory vape. JMHO.

I've read through this entire thread, and wasn't going to post. But I couldn't resist throwing my 2 cents in. Why does a discussion about the future of vaping have anything to do with what "everybody" wants? Who cares? Today, smokers, in the U.S., anyway, only comprise about 18 to 20 percent of the population. Smoking already isn't mainstream. It was more popular, years ago; but it isn't any longer. Even if vaping eventually captured 100% of the smoking population, which we won't, we'll still be a minority; a fringe. When I smoked, I didn't care how many other people were doing it; and I care less now how many other people vape. Vaping has become a hobby I enjoy. That doesn't mean I think it should be "mainstream". I have several other hobbies I enjoy. That doesn't mean I think everybody else should be participating in them. I have a $1000 RC race car. Would the RC car world be better off if you could buy an "off the shelf" unit for $50 that performed the same? I doubt it. I play golf. I'd love a $.50 golf ball that performed exactly the same as a $4.00 Pro V1. It would certainly make my expenses less; but would it attract more people to playing golf? Probably not. It certainly would result in more people who are already playing golf to buy that particular ball.
My point is; I'm not trying to recruit anybody. I'm not trying to convert anybody. I'm not trying to solicit anybody to do what I do, or use what I use. I'm not trying to gain social acceptance as a vaper. I'm going to vape anyway. But if someone shows an interest in how I vape, or what I vape with, I'm there to share whatever I know. I'll leave the mainstream marketing to the experts.

Don't think that's true... well or at least ur talking abt two different things. The reason ppl don't stick with the small ecigs is cause they aren't there yet. And they never have to be as good as the bigger modded high end stuff. They just need to get to a point where they do what they r supposed to and make financial and practical sense.

In ten years, batteries would be a lot better than what they are now. And those ecigs can be made with smaller batteries that have more capacity than what's currently on the market and then have longer cartomizers. Its all possible.

More importantly though, I strongly believe that if the first time u smoked ur blu, it had just as much vapour and throat hit as an analog and had a battery that could last you at least 400 puffs... you probably wouldn't have been dissatisfied with ur purchase.

Now all that is nonsense if you can say that in ten years you dont see an ecig fig-alike being much much better than what's on the market now.

I don't vet it though, I am sure I'll love my eGo... but I don't have a problem with other people wanting to vape smaller ecigs. I actually hope that the basic cig-alike ecigs can perform a lot better so more people get off those death sticks.

A lot of people try ecigs at some point as some have stated already. And most aren't fortunate enough to know someone with a special vaping mod set up. More aren't likely to seek out forums like this to see if they could have done better. They just toss it away and go back to analogs. That's not a good thing.

Heres an open discussion :). Simple question.

Where do you see vaping going in 10yrs?

I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I'm afraid that in 10 years there will be very little resemblance to today's world of vaping. By then the FDA will have deemed our beloved Ecigs as a tobbaco product and regulated many of our vendors out of business. Taxes on anything that does remain openingly able to be purchased will be very high. Laws where smoking is not allowed will pretty much regularly include ecigs within them and there will be more and more of those laws. Its easy for us to say "the FDA can't control that" but that wont stop them from trying and in many cases succeeding enough that our vaping world will change drastically. I may not be personally thrilled that BT has gotten into the vaping world BUT since our vendors have refused to join together and fight against control of our vaping world at least BT has the funds and the need to protect their investments and hopefully will be willing to take the FDA to court when they overstep their bounds which they certainly will do in the future.

Yes, those of us that have learned how to DIY our needs will be able to continue vaping as we do now and there will be a black market to get what ever we want but we here in this forum are not the average person and the average person won't go to the trouble to start vaping or even continue vaping when the FDA manages to make it difficult.

unfortunately these are nicotine delivery devices not automobiles, very different beasts.
for example: recently smokes shops had these machines at there shops were you picked out your own tobacco and there machines would role you as many cigs as you liked with and without filters, they were great because the cigs were very fresh compared to pre packaged cigarets and people had options like how thick they were what flavor they wanted how long they wanted them and they cost less because they didnt include the same taxs.

they started to cut into the sales of pre packaged cigarette packs and the big tobacco company's saw them as a threat needless to say they had them all shut down and banned from use,
my fear is they will do the same to e-cigs they will come into the market and take it over and make it theirs and kill off any competitor that does not have billions of $ to fight them.

Actually the Roll Your Own places are getting around that. The law says that if you sell the tobacco and the RYO services then you are a *manufacture.* However, if you just sell the tobacco and tubes, and another party acutally supplies the RYO machines, those manufacture licences don't come into play. So companies are running two store fronts, one that sells the tobacco, and another *cub* with a membership fee ($15) where I am at, and you use the RYO machines for free. So you see there are ways around it. Also this was due to conv stores not BT sales.

Exactly. I stopped in a RYO store, a while before I began vaping. There is one not far from me. You buy the tobacco and tubes. The machines are in the same shop; but the person who sold the tobacco and tubes doesn't offer any assistance, in any way, as to operating the machine.
