I have to polish this up a bit but I have spent the last few nights reading this very wonderful thread and since there's nothing on TV but reruns I created a Google spreadsheet which contains comments and recipes. Originally I was going to give each member who commented a separate column but that got too cumbersome so I apologize. It was also a bit of a pain to attribute each comment to the appropriate member and again I apologize. The recipes however do list the contributor and are color-coded by contributor. Clicking on the black triangles will give additional info. I made this in excel originally and it lost a bit in transferring to Google docs but its still usable. I will try to find out how or if I can upload this to MS One Drive so it will be a better experience but I'm not very technically savvy so it may take a day or two to figure it out. There are three tabs at the bottom so check them all out. Heres the link

I saw somewhere in this thread that Blue Cola is less sweet than Red..

I have the HS Blue Cola, and Red Cola, and also TFA Cola, and FA Cola.
I'll be working my way through testing each one, until I find the best one (for my taste buds)

I seem to have a lot of other duplicate flavors from different company's that I need to do the same with.
What's disappointing is that, of the flavors I REALLY want, I can't find a good one, or one I can taste is how I need to say it....stupid taste buds :(
That includes coconut (tried 7 different ones), cheesecake (no flavor from 3 different kinds), a good chocolate (VZ has some with promise), etc etc, and blueberry .. until I found FA Bilberry
I had to go through 8 different caramels before I finally found one that I could taste, and it's yummy.
I have to tell you that I smoked for 56 years, and my taste buds are shot, so take this with a grain of salt :p

The HS flavors that I put on the "keeper" list so far are: (I've only tested 11 of the 29 I have)
Aniseed .. I don't care too much for licorice, but I do enjoy this flavor, ..it's a real refreshing break from all the others.
Cappuccino .. it's a good vape, but it's NOT cappuccino
Juicy Peach .. a nice "true peach" flavor
Mango .. good good good
Mojito .. good stuff, and another nice flavor for a change of taste

What I didn't care for, or just plain couldn't taste:
Caramel Macchiato
Cheesecake (nice, but NO cheesecake flavor to me)
Chocolate Cream .. ditto
Red Cola .. you heard that story :(
Strawberry .. there's much better in my arsenal.
These opinions are mine, and mine only .. other's may swear by them

Tobaccos:
I have Arabic, Desert Ship, Flue Cured, Gold & Silver, Golden V1, Highway, Indian, RY4, and Tab Blended
I like them all, and 4 of them are on my YUMMY rated list as vaping just plain solo.
That's about the extent of my HS contribution, until I work my way through the rest of their flavorings

This made me laugh, and is a great example, to me, how subjective taste can be, haha. RY1 is one of the few flavors I can tolerate and I have never detected anything resembling prunes. I have had several "prunie" flavored tobaccos and could never make it past a few puffs, yuck.

May I ask what percentages you have mixed your RY1 at? I haven't gone beyond 3%, but like 2% just fine. I get an earthy nutty, maybe some hay haha, veeery subtle sweetness from it. Mild.

Please don't take this as "I am right you are wrong." We are both correct. Just wild, and interesting as hell to me how we all perceive the world. What does red look like to you? Haha.

YIKES! Been out of the loop too long I guess. :D

I mixed the RY1 at 5% with 2% Jamaican Rum and .5% AP. It's smoothed out a bit but it's still reminiscent of prunes It could be that it's a bit too strong at 5% but I'm gonna try it w/o any additives and see what it tastes like.

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can help me out. I don't have enough pain in my life, so I'm embarking on the DIY eliquid path.

Here's what I'm ordering from myfreedomsmokes
Nic Level
24mg
Size
250mil - $13.95
PG/VG Mix
75% PG / 25% VG

I am going to order some menthol drops as well
TFA Menthol 15ml

And I'm going to order some Hangsen flavorings
RY4 Concentrated Hangsen Flavor
USA mix
Pipe flavor
Butterscotch
Highway

My major question is about ratio. I heard 2 drops of concentrate per ml? Is this correct?

I love the effort in this even if the format is still a little ruff. Keep it up this will be a very valuable resource..... Very nice job (Bookmarked). I've attached an xl sheet that list recommended percentages for several different flavoring manufactures. I think you will find this useful with your project. Unfortunitly hangsen is not on the list but never the less it's a useful file. Look at the tabs on the bottom for different manufactures.

Hangsen is generally 5 - 7%. With hangsen start at 4% and work up and go lightly on the methol starting at 1% and work up.

Don't get the % thing.

What I'm wondering basically is how many drops of the flavoring per ml of PG / nic liquid.

I don't do the drop thing so I can't advise you. Drops are very inaccurate so I do strictly percent and measure with syringes. Drops can be in all shapes and sizes depending on the dropper your using so they produce very poor results when trying to reproduce recipes. What you should do is download the ejuice me up calculator and take a look at that. It will help you calculate ml, percents and drops.

Already angry now, and I haven't even ordered the stuff. LOL. Haven't found one for mac besides one that calculates everything. I guess this is going to be complicated for us that aren't mathematicians. The problem is, I already will have my base liquid with Nic in it. Is there a calculator, that anybody knows of that calculates the amount of drops of concentrate you need per ml of base with nic already in it?

Downloaded that to a laptop that I had. Still way too complicated to use.

The tutural can be found here.

Another though is if you have a one ML syringe pull the plunger and plug up the needle end. Then count drops into the syringe until it gets to the 1ml mark and that will give you how many drops per ml your dropper produces. It should be easier to calculate from there.

the last time I used drops

1%=2 drops per 10ml of base.

Hope that helps

One drop per ml will be around 4.5% , +/- .5% this is a good place to start.

Super simple - drops only listed up to a 10ml amount.
eJuice Recipe Calculator

Another easy one - drops listed at all amounts.
http://www.ecigexpress.com/cookbook/ejuice-calculator/

Enter 24 base , 24 target, amount to be made , your flavor 1 percentage and it shows you drops.. It should be close enough for you z

I recommend starting at 3.33 - 4%, if your using a rebuildable. 3.33% is 1ml per 30ml, give it 3-4 days before you decide to go up - too weak add more. You may be able to Judge how much more by the strength of the flavor. Wait at least 3-4 days before making a second adjustment. I would go 4 then 5 then 6 ect. Waiting 2-4 days between each adjustment.

A one ml syringe or dropper works great and takes out the margins of error
