Hi everyone, a silly question here - a puzzle really. I am trying to identify a Hangsen flavor by its color and flavor since I don't have its name. It is a tobacco flavor similar to US Red (when mixed at 1.8%) except for the color. The HS Red turns light yellow over time, and the one I am looking for stays clear.....I used to buy the pre-mixed from V2 Cigs. It was called V2 Red. The company may be going out of business, and a friend of mine is desperate to find the flavor. I do know the company uses Hangsen flavors, but I do not know if they modify them in any way. Their Congress flavor for example is exactly the same as Hangsen's Congress. Hints anyone? Which of their tobaccos stays clear over time and has a flavor similar to US Red? Thanks in advance.

RY1 stays clear, probably the clearest of any juice I've tried. If the company is going out of business I'd PM them and just ask, they should tell you since there's not any motive to keep it secret.

US red most likely is what your after. It has an ashy USA cigarette taste and starts out clear and over time turns pale yellow. RY1 has a plain tobacco taste but not as ashy as US red kinda more earthy, woody. That starts out clear and turns a slightly darker yellow over time..

V2 red used to be called cowboy. If you really dont think it was hs red then maybe usa mix. USA red is dark when its first mixed. Are you saying completely clear?? I have never used one myself that was clear. I think the cuban is completely clear.

I would take advantage of buyhangsens sale . you can get a 5ml sample for .69¢. Buy a bunch and you'll find it.

Great idea Jeremy, thanks. I definitely will take advantage of the sale. Comparing the v2 Red with HS Red, they taste almost identical to me - but not to my friend who probably has better taste buds. The difference might be in the amount of flavor. Will be reducing it 1.7% and see what she thinks. And yes, the color has stayed completely clear for nearly 6 months. Can not figure that one out. At a minimum I would think the Nic oxidation would have turned the liquid at least a bit yellowish, but not the case here. Perhaps because mixing at 8 mg is too low to notice the oxidation.

I was wondering... 1.8% flavor seems way low. The juice they made for carts should be at 3-5%.

Try one at 3% .... it does take a while for the exact steeped flavor about 3-4weeks . however it will be darker at 3% maybe they are going really low on the fflavorin if its almost clear.. But if your on the right track just a couple points can make a difference. Maybe 2 %

Nic does make a big difference in oxidation and also overall taste.

I started at 5% and almost gaged on it !! My own sweet spot is 2% on a dripper, and a bit higher on a carto. You might be right about V2 going low on %. I've tried their juice and it taste like 1.6 - 1.8.... Just ordered a bunch of 69c samples. Thanks again guys.

Some like it that high, I prefer 2-3 myself. It is one of the stronger flavos But that's in a dripper at 24w too. The red does have to steep for sure I cant vape it for about a month.

I detect a slight change in your taste buds since early last year :) I believe 2% was tops for you back then.

Lol so many flavors I loose track. I haven't vaped the red for a long time till recently when I ran out of Arabic. And using up some if these bottles laying around. I don't recall ever going less than about 2.5 of any hangsen when mixing a bottle.

Well curios had to do a search.. I was at 2.5-3 ;)

I am browsing [100% vg, vertical coil, oddy clone, on zmax. ...]. Have a look at it! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-post11846863.html?highlight=red#post11846863

We had a discussion about red here you were at 2.25, others at 7!

I am browsing [I guess it depends on how picky you are. Sure the...]. Have a look at it! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-post12722922.html?highlight=red#post12722922

Since my palet has forgotten Arabic for the time being other flavors are tasting better. Lol

Been vaping the elder captain pretty heavily the last few days.. At 4% in VG. I am detecting a hint of red in it.. A background note, and its quite a bit lighter in color than the red. Maybe have your friend try it...

Desert ship and highway are tasting great as well

Question ...

I just took delivery of a bottle of Hangsen Desert Ship flavoring.

This flavoring seems thicker than other brands of flavorings I have used in the past (which have all been PG based)

Could the Desert Ship flavoring be VG based? ..... it don't say on Hangsen's website or the RTS Vapes website.

BTW ... What percentage of Desert Ship are you using when making your single flavor DIY juice?

The flavors are pg based.. It could be the quality of the flavoring that's different.. Hangsen uses a naturally extracted tobacco base, also known as net... They use a molecular distillation extraction.

But really its probably because its cold outside.

I use the ds at 3.33% (1ml/30ml base)
Or per preference 3-4% in 100vg.

I did order all those flavors for her. I may even like Elder Captain myself ... Thanks again for the suggestion.

I've got a batch of DS mixed up at 5% but haven't tried it yet. I'm trying a couple of hangsen tobaccos a week, and I mix them at 5% as a starting point. So far I like all the ones I've tried at that %. I've probably got ten or twelve bottles mixed up, and I'd guess that atleast half of them have stayed clear.

I just mixed up a really nice juice using the Hangsen 'Desert Ship':

Obviously you can adjust the PG / VG percentage and Nic level to anything you want, but the total flavoring level is 18%

Very nice daily vape, if you like tobacco / cigar flavors

The 'Cohiba Cigar' flavoring from RTS Vapes / CT is about the only cigar flavoring that I have found that truly has a real cigar smell.
30 ml Cohiba Cigar (CT)

The small amount of 'Licorice Flavor Plus' flavoring just mellows out the tobacco and adds a richness to the mix without it disrupting the tobacco / cigar flavor

Note: What I like about the Desert Ship from Hangsen is that it does not have a 'chemical' or 'perfume' smell that so many other tobacco flavorings that I have tried in the past.

The one I particularly enjoy when well-aged is Tab Blended. After ~3 months it yields a beautiful, rich, and creamy amber.

Most of mine tasted too sweet today; so enjoying Churchill, CO (Cohiba) and some mixing of the two. Cheers!
