Just a general equipment type was what I was interested in as I do find it makes a difference in the percentage choice. But I guess personal taste buds are a bigger difference.

With that said, and your equipment, I would start at a medium range. 5% , steep minimum 3-5 days before testing for flavor strength. If you taste enough strength you can wait another 3 days to 2 weeks for the flavoring to develop some of its finer notes - if its not good already.

If the flavor is not strong enough add another percent and wait a few days to try again.. Repete if needed... If it was too strong add base to bring it down one percent to 4. Adjust from there. When your close you can go 1/2 percent up or down to fine tune it.

I'm assuming you went 7% and it was too much? 5 is a good middle ground to start from.

Some have reported that a long hot water steep can negatively affect the flavor... I have stopped the hot water. Maybe try 3 hours and let it rest overnight then try it.

Well...I do speed steep with hot water. It's worked great for everything else, best I can tell. Then again, maybe some of those flavors that didn't taste so good, might taste better if I just steeped them normally. I really need to get one of those spin plates. I didn't know that desert ship was a Turkish tobacco flavor until yesterday...I ordered it. If I don't get it figured out before the 10ml bottle of flavor is gone, I'm certainly not going to order another. Thanks for your suggestions...I'll try them☺

Desert ship is one of the most popular ones, well liked by many.

I always use the first batch of juice to mix down or up to find what I like. Whats in there is already steeping, and I'm not wasting either. I don't have to wait as long to test it or have a ready juice.

If you've got notes on the mix percentages you can always adjust the bottle to different percentages by adding base or flavor.

I use Desert Ship at 5% solo, and I love it.
I have several Desert Ship flavorings by several different company's, and HS blows all the other ones away in my opinion.

I do the same thing you do Jeremy, mix, add or dilute to the test bottle, and keep tons of notes.
It's a fast way to see if it's any good, and what % to use.

Today, I'm trying the HS Australian Chocolate ... sigh .. it's the same as all the other "chocolates" .. missing.
I added some more flavoring to it, and it didn't seem to make any difference, not a hint of chocolate taste to it.
Everyone says you have to mix 2 or 3 different chocolates to get a good chocolate flavor, and they may be right.
It is 24 days old, and a nice smooth vape, just not chocolate :(

I also have HS Caramel Toffee in another mod, and I'll finish the bottle, but I won't buy another one.
Can't taste the caramel or any Toffee. I increased the flavoring % but It didn't make it any better.
It's not on the sweet side, so maybe adding some sweetener to it will make it "pop".
I mixed it on the 3rd of Jan, so ???? I'll try the sweetener.

My next order may be from Bull City though, because I'm wanting to try a couple more Inawera flavors.
If it's in stock, grab some "Biscuit", or the "Spicy Biscuit" ... yummy stuff.
It's better than any cookie, or cake type of flavoring.
It's also good all by it's self.

Slots, you mean I'm not the only one who can't taste chocolate vape? Think I've tried all under the sun. And finally quit looking; the closet I get is HS Arabic.
YUP, There are a few that I have left to try, so still have my fingers crossed.
If I find one, I'll let you know

Someone told me to mix FA cocoa with FA chocolate, equal amounts. it sures tastes like a good chocolate to me!
I have tried both of those alone... nothing
I heard about combing them too , but when I tried it, it didn't work for me .. I think I'm missing the chocolate taste buds :?:

Inawera Wera Garden Chocolate Cream 1% Very rich Chocolate!
I tried it starting at 1%, and went all the way up to 6%, and my bottle of their flavoring, just doesn't have any chocolate in it
I also have their Chocolate EA, but haven't tried it yet.

I have found a few with chocolate in the background that I like,... one is VZ Chocolate Truffle SCG at 6%, not excellent, but a good vape
Their Coffee Mocha SCG is one of my favorites, since it has both coffee and chocolate ..can't beat that.
I use 1 drop per 4ml, .. yeah it's strong,.. like TFA Caramel Cappuccino, but soooo yummy.
So I have one I enjoy .. just can't find one I can use in a recipe ..chocolate covered cherries, peanuts, strawberries etc

The strongest chocolate that I have found is FW Double Dutch Chocolate. It's pretty good stand alone but a coil gunker so I just use as a add-on in my mixes.
 OMG you found one I don't have
I have a ton of flavorings from FW, even though they require a high %
I'm like you, don't care for coil gunker's, or just plain super dark, almost blackish juices.
Thanks though .. chocolate is chocolate :p ...I'll check into it.
I have their Dark Chocolate, and Coco Coco Mocha which I'm anxious to try too.
Thanks for the tip, I'll get some, .. like you say, it may be good in recipes.

Is #5 @ RTS the same as T5?

I'm trying to order a liter of pg/vg, a bunch of hangsen tobacco flavors, and some 60-120ml plastic bottles from one source and I'm struggling bad. ECX is out of T5. RTS doesn't have 60-120 plastic bottles.

Any ideas or am I going to have to piece it all together?

I've been thinking about picking up some glass bottles here the last couple of days because I guess the plastic does leech some. Anyways, BC has #5. No.5-HS - Bull City Vapor

Thanks JD1! Bull city has everything I need in stock and ready to go. I like mixing 60-120mls at a time depending on the flavor and use the glass dropper to fill up my on the go bottles. I only vape 2-3mls/day tops so mixing 240 mls is a pretty big supply for me.

I only vape 2-3 different flavors a week. I used to jump all over the place but I've been on major cruise control for a long time. Part of the reason I don't post here much anymore. I'm not doing anything different than I was 12 months ago. I have 8 tried and true basic recipes and never seem to get bored.

I keep experimenting.. Most recent tobacco's were Inawera Blend, Vanilla for Pipe, and Hangsen Highway, and those three went straight to the top of my list. :vapor:

lol- I've been going through the inawera tobaccos at bull city. Tino lineup seems like a good place to start. Wrong thread but any recs if I like HS desert ship, deluxe, highway, and flue cured? I like indian but not something I can do all the time. Arabic and turkish don't work well for me. Arabic has a cedar note I can't get past. I've mixed different %'s and can't find the sweet spot.

The two I mentioned is the only two I've tried so far, so be sure and post your question over in the Inawera thread as well. The Inawera blend is a very nice, complex blend with a slight cedar note on the exhale. It's really well done but if you don't care for the cedar note at all then you'll need to pass on that one. The Vanilla for Pipe is also well done imo, with just enough vanilla to know it's there. It's also a great mixer with fruits and other tobacco's if you like that sort of thing.
