Just received first my order from caterpillar vapes, golden ry6,Churchill,and smooth. the use by dates are 6-16 for the golden and the other two are 4-16 , are they safe to use? I opened and tried the golden and all I can taste is perfume and ash.
I've used flavorings that are still good, 2 years past the "pull" date
Flavoring usually last a long time..

Now ... if your talking about a mixed juice, .. that's different story.
Some keep for a long time, others fad.
If it's "purfumy" it's mixed to strong. You can try diluting it.
If you DIY, and have a unflavored base, just start cutting it until it taste good.
I just don't know which one your talking about ..pre mixed, or flavor concentrate.
But both should keep long after the date, and can be diluted.
I DIY now, but I also have some pre mixed that I bought 3 years ago, and are well past the "expire" date, but they are still good.

I haven't heard many raving reviews about the golden. Its probably just one you dont like.

Also im a firm beliver that you have to give each hs flavor a little while to really tell. Try it again tomorrow. Then vape it a bit, if tolerable, and you may start to taste more of it, maybe even start to like it..

Try the churchill, it was my first hangsen.

Your right ... Especially with the tobacco's
I don't even try tobaccos until they have sat for 3-4 weeks old.
Fruits ?? yeah, overnight ok, but the tobacco flavorings are a breed of their own :rules:

Yes I steep if it's my own Diy , however this is premixed. I have the Golden -ry6 steeping now it's 80vg/20pg. I contacted Caterpillar vapes by ticket two days ago and no response yet. will wait to try the churchill and smooth after I hear from them but I have a feeling that I won't hear back from them. I get all my other stuff from BVC and have not had anything outdated maybe 6 months out but they don't last that long before it's gone

Hey guys, since we keep our pg/vg nic in the freezer for long term storage has any one tried doing the same for our Hangsen Essence. I assume these nets are in vg and won't freeze solid so should that extend the shelf life like it does our nic? I've read that in the synthetic flavors that there may be some molecule separation when frozen but I don't believe our essence would freeze enough to damage it.

Any one tried it or any thoughts on it?

FYI Gary, just posted this in another thread:

No guarantees but I have stored flavor for 2 1/2 - 3 years without issue. I keep a variety of what I vaped mixed on the desktop and then usually mix en mass every three to four months with 2-4 favorites occasionally mixed more often. Then keep ~10ml of each concentrate in the frig and larger balances in the freezer. I use locked ammo cases (with o-rings) for both nic and flavors. In the freezer I have 50ml, 100ml bottles, and ziplocks with multiple 10ml bottles. Flavors are from Hangsen, FA, TFA with a few miscellaneous.

The only degradation I have noted has been on 1 1/2+ year old mixed juice left on the desktop (i.e. largely ignored). Bottom line: I am seeing little to no issue storing flavors in the refrigerator or freezer. Enjoy!

After posting realized "2 1/2 - 3 years" was a stretch; 2 - 2 1/2 years would be more accurate. Enjoy!

I don't think any real testing has been done on freezing flavoring. So everything I've read is speculation but most of what I read says no. But maybe we all should take a few 10ml bottles and freeze them just to find out for sure. Also my wife has her cooking flavors in a pantry that are more then 3 years old that she still uses from time to time and I've herd no complaints from her. I would imaging our non natural chemically derived vaping flavorings should last upwards of 3 or more years. I have some well over 3 years old and I just used a cream flavoring over 3 years old that still tasted fine.

I have rebottled HS highway that I bought in august of 2013. Still tastes and looks fine. I mixed some up a couple weeks ago. All my flavors are stored in glass and never exposed to light unless I'm mixing.

It's hard to say how long they will stay good. Has anybody had HS tobaccos concentrates go bad due to age?

I have some also that are 2-3 years old that are still good. I'm just concerned with all the FDA issues that our suppliers may become more limited and the Hangsen flavors might be much more difficult and expensive to obtain. I put a 10ml bottle in the freezer last night just to do a short test run.

Looks like @LoveVanilla above has already successfully done this so that is very encouraging. With my nic, hardware, and parts stash long term flavoring was my last concern with the looming FDA regs coming. Thanks for the comments.

I just tried DE for the first time. I don't have much patience, when it comes to trying a flavor for the first time. I just mixed this 5% test batch yesterday, so it deserves a couple of weeks on the shelf for a better evaluation.

I'm not a fan, after the early taste test. Mild cigar, with an old gym sock wrapper.

I'll give it a couple of weeks and try it again.
