I mixed up some Red USA and it has steeped for 2 weeks. I tried it this morning and it tastes like it has menthol in it - yuk.

I used to vape and liked DK USA red, I never got any menthol taste for the ready made juice. So I thought that this mix that I made would be just a tobacco taste.

Has anyone else mixed Hangen Red USA? Do you get the menthol taste?

Just tried Churchill and Gold & Silver which turned out way too mild for my taste. Took it from 5 to 7% over a week and find it akin to vaping pure nic base with no flavor added. I can see the vapor but no strong flavor as I like it and worse, no throat hit. Can't taste or smell anything reminiscent of tobacco. If I don't vape for an hour or two and take a hit of either of these, I do get a slight flavor but all downhill from there. I don't believe taking these to 10% would help as much as create a harsh flavor. So I'm done with those as well.

So the milder Hangsens, for my taste, include Indian, Gold & Silver, Tobacco, and Churchill.

I'm still using Hangsen Tobacco flavor as a base for my Max Blend by FA. Mixed HS Tobacco flavor at 7% - 1.5% AP - 1% Vape Wizard to find it too mild and added Max Blend which I didn't like as stand alone. Three or four drops of Max B in the mixed HS Tobacco 15 ml bottle created a flavor I enjoy. All the reviews I read on Max Blend raved about the amazing freshly opened pack of cigs flavor. What? Where? No such thing. Not even close! A bizzaro flavor like that is what it is but not analog like. Alone it has a strong sweet bakery flavor and smells like baby powder. Yea, I get a baby powder effect on exhale over and over again. Now combined with the Tobacco flavor it's pretty groovy .....

Keeping six out of eleven flavors in rotation. Not bad. Still loving and enjoying daily the stronger Arabic, Desert Ship, Deluxe, Latakia, TAB and occasionally Highway for a milder flavor with a discernible taste.

I'm finding the same thing with the pipe, smooth and the flue cured. I added some cherry to the pipe which gave it some flavor but the tobacco is just not there. Thinking about adding some TA. Tab, arabic,T5, highway elder captain, desert ship, red are all very good.

I don't sense any menthol taste. Did you by chance maybe mix it in a bottle that once had menthol in it or are you using a carto that once had menthol?

It was mixed in a clean, sterilized bottle and tested in a clean clearomizer. I never use anything with menthol so cross contamination isn't the issue.

@res125 I don't taste menthol in my mix. You may want to contact the vendor who sold it to you. Maybe...just maybe it is the menthol version. (It happens!)

I'll contact the vendor, Ecig Express but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience. I never had any issues like this before, but I guess there is always a chance.

I would contact the vender then. Could have been a mix up in bottling. ECX seems to have been having some problems with there hangsen as of late.

Question:
I am only half through this thread (thanks for all the great info!) but Jimi posted about how good the coffee flavors are. Specifically Carmel Mocha. What percentages are you using? Steep time? I love coffee vapes but haven't tried any yet as I hear they can be difficult. I'd love to try this! TIA!

Peach flavor not to good, taste artifical. Juicy peach very very good, taste like a natural peach. Both are clear.

Thanks Danny. Is 5% enough as a stand alone for Juicy Peach? And what kind of tobacco do you think is goes with. I have RY1, Indian, pipe, USA Red, and also Latakia, Perique and 7leaves from Flavor Art. I probably will experiment with Latakia because I hear it has the smokey flavor that I like. Anyone else please feel free to chime in. Thanks for helping a Nubee.

I can also confirm that Red USA does not have menthol. But I have another problem with it. Mixed it at 5% and quite strangely it tasted like Dekang DK Tab. Perhaps 5% was too much.... Currently steeping one at 3%.

Ok thats kinda weird. Your the second person to say its nutty when most of us are no where near nutty but get an ashtray/ red taste. I believe that is the true flavor. Possibly a bottling error? Or everyone's taste buds are that different.

Where did you get your flavoring? Thanks.

Start at 5% and I think it would go good with pipe but experiment with your tobaccos. Don't take my word as taste is very subjective.

Mine came from VZ, but I think my problem was I mixed it too strong at 5%. Have since tried it at 3.5% and the ash is there but no menthol.

It can be vaped right away but will benefit from a day or 2 of steeping.

Thanks! I tried it at 5%. Gotta try 7%. Need more ashy
