Yeah bf was ready to come load it on a trailer and take back to the guy, but then decided he's not sure he wants the guy to touch it again.

Actually, compared to a new engine, yes it is good news...we can afford to have that fixed...a new engine not so much.I'm sorry, I thought that was good news...guess it's not.

A timing chain is kind of hard to break I would be looking real close at any chain tension er or idlers the chain runs on, sometimes the bearing in them seize up been there done that

What obg said about the tensioner and idler pulleys, I wonder if the guy even checked them before putting it all back together or maybe he forgot to tighten the bolts properly. Hopefully it can be fixed without a huge repair billOh my!
