The map showed the possibility of them in your area, but you're on the edge.
I generally won't pick up a wild snake. I'll handle someones pet snake.
I did touch that one yesterday though.
I'm very respectful, I don't want to get bitten. PLUS, I'm fairly certain that I know what the venomous ones in our area look like, but I still don't take any chances, cuz I'm definitely not an expert at snake identification.
You can usually chase one out of the yard or area with a broom or stick. Just stay back and keep them moving.
If it becomes aggressive, just back off and let it be....that's how I deal with a snake.
If it's one like that one, I don't even bother running it off.
When we first moved here there was one like it under our concrete steps. It was shedding.
Any snake will be more aggressive if they're shedding because they get a film or something that makes their eyes look milky and they can't see well, so they're more vulnerable then. Best to definitely leave them be if they're shedding. :)
Good to know. Long as they aren't inside, I would positively die, I would still go the other way.

kind of hard making a coil and wick right now with one hand lol

Aww, that stinks. If I knew how to I'd make you a bunch and send them.

How long do they take in a frying pan with olive oil? This sounds familiar. Wonder if talked about meatballs on here previously.

 Do you need someone to make coils?? I can't do those weird ones though.
I haven't made any for mine since last fall. Haven't had to.
Don't you burn them off??
That would all still bite to try to do one handed. I don't know how I'd get the atty apart. Maybe a vice would work.
Gosh, never thought about that scenario. I could tell DH how to do it though.

Well, I don't want one inside, but if it was non-venomous, it wouldn't freak me out.
Generally, if you don't have mice or an abundance of what they eat...small/baby rodents, baby birds, lizards, etc. you won't have them, or see them.

We definitely have small rodents with the forest across the street and tall grass/weeds on the undeveloped lot next door. Yup, I would freak out if it were a big spider too ;)

Me too!!
