Lousy night indeed. Ohh Dale. :( I hope you don’t have a busy schedule today.

I decided to stay home another day. I have about a month and a half of sick time stocked up as well as 2 weeks of comp time, so I’m not worried. I know that everyone is under a lot of stress right now. I’ll likely sit down with him at some point tomorrow and have a chat.

Make yourself a big mug of your favorite tea and grab a novel. ;) might make you drowsy as long as there isn’t too much caffeine in your tea. Lol.
Sadly I’m out of library books and the kindle is on the charger :rolleyes:

I may just try to go back to bed.

    I slept awhile :)

Yes the library is open but the book sale room is closed for some reason :(
Love that you got a nap. But that stinks the book sale room isn’t open. Working on cleaning and we went in the pool for a little while. Gotta get the house is some sort of shape since family will be here this weekend.

There is a large bin just outside one of our food stores (In the enclosed area). It's full of books that have been donated. There is a slotted box where you can leave a donation of whatever you want for the books. It's at the store dd and I shop at so we always check the books out after shopping. Found the kids a lot of books in the bin.

Feeling like I’m being a Debbie downer a lot these days. But the 4th was the last time I saw my bio dad and he passed away on Thanksgiving Eve. Two holidays I’m not a fan of. So I put my heart and soul into hosting them with family something fierce. One of the reasons we are saying bleep it. Let’s have family over  we can socially distance. Covid is not going away any time soon. Let’s be smart and still have family over.

@JoeyC I'm going to need your recipe for sausage with peppers and onions ;) I have a few internet searches saved. We got hot and mild Italian sausage links. What’s the best way to make them?

What a nice mom you are, Dale. Tell him you need some new books to read. ;) I’ve been reading a lot of fan fic stories these days. Fanfiction dot com. They are free. Just normal people writing stories. You can pick subjects you are interested in. A lot deal with shows/movies and people write their own stories involving those characters. Some aren’t so good because these people aren’t famous authors/editors but I have read some really impressively written stories. You can pick the length and maturity rating.

I don’t think you’re being a Debbie downer but sure sorry to hear that about your bio dad :(

Interesting web site, I may have to check it out :) I’ve joined two sites that scour the internet for free books and have downloaded a number to my kindle ... found one today for the tablet.

Thanks Dale  gosh it will be 21 years this year. Time sure does fly. Seems like yesterday.

Definitely check it out when you run low. Also, I always click on “completed” status. Otherwise if it’s a newer story being written you have to wait for new chapters to be uploaded. I’ve used some free kindle websites for my kindle, although I haven’t used the actual kindle in years. I have the app on my phone.

Speaking of which, I’m off to read a few more chapters of the latest Phantom of the Opera story I downloaded  Back to work tomorrow  Sweet dreams Dale and lurkers

    Sorry about your dad :(

Everything is by eye, depends on how much sausage you make and how many people.

I get different color usually 1 of each peppers, red, green, orange and cut them up into long strips.

    2 big spanish onions

Minced garlic, I buy the big jar in olive oil, 3 or 4 tablespoons

Italian seasoning, I just sprinkle a bunch on until all the peppers and onions are lightly covered.

    2 sticks of butter

Start frying up the sausage do not drain the pan after cooking the sausage.

Melt the butter in pan then add the garlic peppers and onions and Italian seasoning. Stir it up while it cooks down, getting the brown bits from the sausage off the bottom of the pan.

Every once in awhile I will add some crushed tomatoes into the pan also :drool:

Thank you, Joey. Over the years it has gotten easier but I still try to stay as busy as I can on those two holidays. Less time to think. ;)

Yum!! This sounds amazing and a combo of the two recipes I saved. We always get our sausage sandwiches at the fair. But since we won’t be going this year, I thought I’d try them at home. :)

I completely understand my dad passed just before mothers day, my mom passed a couple of days after thanksgiving, my grandma passed new year’s eve. All holidays have been so different without them, my dad passed back in ‘86, grandma in ‘95, mom in ‘08.
