It's a really stiff morning here but the coffee is good so who could complain?

I have already plucked my o'l woman whiskers so I pretty much have met my goal for the day. I have a lot of clothes stacks in my room. I removed the clothes that are too big but now I don't know what to do with them. My weight has always fluctuated and I hate to get rid of anything I may need in the future. I honestly think the best thing to do is keep a few of my favorites and donate the rest to the church. We have a wonderful church that has an Outreach center. The ladies that work there donate their time. It is not like Goodwill which pays low wages to employees and a CEO that makes a mint. They help people too but not as much as they could. Another pet peeve on my long list of peeves.

As soon as my coffee cup is empty, I am going to somehow make the most of a rainy day. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday too.

You’ll sleep good tonight, Dale :)

Thx for the reminder, Rat2. Gotta check my beard. Thanks to my Italian genes.

Went through my boxes of saved mementos today. Found a doll that my grandma made me in 1985 and I have 2 shirts that belonged to my dad. I’m going to find one of those places that makes bears out of loved ones shirts. Embarrassed to admit I tried one of the shirts on (something worn when he was a teen, I imagine) It was a tight fit lolololoo. And looked so funny with the butterfly collar.

That sounds like something I would do. Heck, I do. I am still wearing shirts that I painted for my mom 40 years ago, believe it or not. And a couple of months ago I tried on a one-piece jumpsuit my grandmother had made for me when I was in high school. (mid 70's) 10 more lbs and I could probably wear it if I wanted to. I abhor sleeveless on me now. But it is cool. Black with bright Jonquils on it. She made a matching scarf for my hair because I wore ponytails back then too.

I even have a housecoat made out of squares from all her sewing projects. I think I kept it because of Dolly Parton's song about Coat of Many Colors. heehee It does not fit at all. I have said that I am not sentimental about items but I guess I am a little bit. Thanks for making me have a good memory and letting me share it.

I’d love to see that house coat :)
I’ve got things tucked away in my Hope chest but clothing isn’t one. Well I did have an outfit that my aunt made for our son when he was born but I recently passed it on to him.

Omgosh me too!! I would love to see the coat!!

I am on my way to getting some bears made. Texted a friend who knows someone that does that. I would love to have maybe 2 made. One for me and one for my brother. Dad’s been gone 23 years this November.

Went out and vacuumed the pool, ended up soaking my sock/sneaker  stepped on the corner wrong and down I went. Managed to keep the rest of me out of the water thank goodness, it’s only 65. Bet the nosy neighbors got it on their camera

We grilled steaks and chicken for dinner. With fresh corn and twice baked potatoes. I’m ready for bed. Tomorrow will be busy.

    Sweet dreams

The housecoat was not where I thought it was (I'll find it one day) but I found a whole drawer of nylon silky kinda nightgowns. All with matching robes and slippers. Really beautiful. All wrapped in plastic. I was thinking about her anyway but this really made me think of her. It is a shame they are all so small because I've never had matching sleepwear.

I should really go through her stuff and I mean go through it. A couple of years ago I was looking for some pink socks and dug through her sock drawer. I found a sock with $1,600 in it. Dad and me had fun digging through some of her stuff. She had little envelopes all over the place with the running tally on the outside. heehee We ended up finding a little over $8,000. Good memories.

I took dad, aunt, and cousin to Outback at 3:45 thinking it would be less congested. I was wrong.

50-minute wait to get a table which was not too bad and a little over an hour to get the Prime rib. That would have been okay also if it had not been thin, over-cooked, and dry. I would have done better if I had stopped after the Bloomin' Onion which was delectably greasy. I feel like Dave Chappel (minus a guy attacking me with a knife). I think I did a good job entertaining our group and the waiter.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Good morning lurkers :) and Sara

‘Sorry to hear you girls are having bad restaurant experiences, I haven’t set foot in one in over three years and not planning on it. I don’t enjoy eating in restaurants and covid provides a good excuse not to .

‘I am sorry your meal was a disappointment Rat2 :( Outback should have done better by you, they’re too expensive not too :glare:

Like most things in my life, it is what it is. It would have sent it back if it had not been so very busy. There is no way dad would have waited much longer on anything. He was testy enough as it was.

Mother's day is over and it is a new day. I am hoping I will not need quite so much "comfort" food now. That's the plan. heehee

The sun is shining and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day.

Hope everyone enjoys the beginning of a new week. :)
