I have been away for a week but was wonderful to see you post again Lori and welcome home. Seems like old times. Hope you remember me.View attachment 997065 heehee For some reason, most do. I have thought about you several times and 100% of the time when I saw a picture of a wiener dog. View attachment 997064
OF COURSE I remember YOU!! I've thought about all you you so often!

I had another wonderful adventure. Still hard to believe I am getting out on the highway and doing things that are fun. I like it. A lot!

The night before my trip, I am very scared and nervous. Fifty-eleven things are on my mind. It is weird but as soon as I get in the car and turn on my GPS, I am just as calm as can be. Maybe it is the incentive of seeing Daniel but I really think it is just having the freedom to finally do something I want to do. It is awesome.

The old place we stayed (Punderson Manor in Newbury, OH) was beautiful. Would have been exciting to have seen something strange other than me. View attachment 997066Did not see one single ghost. Darn. The only room available, because of a big wedding party, was a handicapped room. There was no way that room had a handicapped shower. I was expecting a huge shower but it was barely big enough for me. I did like the little pull-down seat though.

I had never been to a drag race. It was not as exciting as I had expected but still had a wonderful day. Daniel's trucking company was the owner of the racetrack so I met several of his friends and you know me. . . I talked to everyone. It is so nice to go places with someone that is like me. (well, sort of like me, I take it to another levelView attachment 997066)

I must say the little kid's racing was just the cutest. The 7-year-olds had little miniature bikes that looked just like the big ones. They were going 57 miles an hour and you could see the excitement in their little faces.

The bikes that used that stuff to make them go really fast were interesting and loud. I cannot imagine going from 0 to 208 miles an hour in such a short time. It must be a real rush to them. Of course, I felt the same way on the highway. heehee

I did so many "1st time" things with Dan. It was wonderful. Everything was exciting to me. Even going through my first toll booths was fun. I went through 3 on the way there but Dan changed my route coming back and I didn't have to go through a single one. That was fine with me because they were $4.25 each. heehee Dan got to stay another night because he did not have a load to pick up so we spend the last night in his truck. He has a nice big truck and I was very comfortable. I was glad the bathroom was close. View attachment 997070

Seeing my first great lake (Erie) was spectacular. We spent all day on the motorcycle stopping at different places. He would stop just to buy me a homemade root beer. We took short walks because Dan is slow but even that was special. Just think, I have 4 more to look forward to. I'd like to see them all.

I have not been on the back of a motorcycle for 37 years. I was pregnant with my daughter the last time I rode. This time was much more exciting. heehee In Ohio, they do not have a helmet law so that was my first time riding completely free and I loved it. I realize it is more dangerous to ride without one but the feeling of wind on your face was the most free I have ever felt. He has been riding since he was 7 and was an exceptional driver. I felt completely safe and protected. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not get sore or anything. We did get caught in the rain for just a little way but it was not hard enough to hurt thank goodness. He tried to get me back to the hotel before but started but even that was fun.

You would not believe the fantastic food I ate. Dan talked me into eating breakfast every morning which was strange for me but wonderful. I was scared to get on the scales this morning but I only gained 3 pounds. That's nuttin'. He says I need to put on 10 lbs. He's wrong of course. View attachment 997068

One of the best parts of my trip was surprising my friend Liz in West Virginia. I knocked on her door and she hollered, "Who is it?". I knocked again and she said it again a little more gruff sounding. As soon as I said "Open the damn door!", she knew exactly who it was. I got her good. It has been 12 years since we saw each other in person. I ended up staying two nights with her and would have stayed longer but I ran out of my medication. I'll take more next time.

I will think of more things to share with you. You had to be expecting a large post from me. Thanks for letting me share.

Here is the first selfie we have taken of us together out of all the times we have met. Just so you know what happy looks like on me. . . I can't believe I am posting a pic of me. That is definitely a new side of me. Remember he is 5 years younger but I don't think I look like I'm robbing the cradle. Not that it really matters to me. heehee

What a wonderful trip!!!
It was okay, nothing special like your Fri-yay ;)

Was going to visit my dad tomorrow but Mary asked us to postpone as dad is not doing well. Will probably go ahead and visit my best friend and her husband anyway, he’s having major surgery in July for cancer.

Hope everyone has a good nights sleep
Prayers for all!! :nun:
Good morning everyone

My 2 days off was good I did nothing, I just relaxed. Start another 6 days of work this afternoon.

Sara are you still getting that mess from Canada or has that cleared up?

Dale hope your dad feels better, sorry to here your friend has cancer will say some prayers :nun:

Rat2 glad you had a good time on your trip, you 2 look good :)

Lori it is good your hubby is able to do all that work to the houses. The 2nd house could be a good investment later on down the road.

Hope you all have a good weekend
Hate that you have to work that schedule!! Ugh!!!
Yes, so grateful he can do just about anything!! We hope it will be. :nun:
I hope your visit was nice, Dale. Yep, I prefer being a homebody too  It IS exhausting.
I've been a homebody most of my life. Moving here has changed ALL that. It's insane how much we've done since we moved here. When everyone is here (snowbirds), there is so much activity it's just overwhelming...but fun...but exhausting. ...some of the folks, you just can't even begin to keep up with them.
There's a couple that live here full time, well into their 80's, and they're into everything!! They do a lot here in the community, play pickleball, take care of the plants in the landscaping all over the community here, and then will be found at the VFW a few evenings a week...dancing and she LOVES karaoke!!
Their place had flooded (with Ian) and their sons came down to try to talk them into moving...they didn't stand for that for a minute and the sons stayed and redid their home. They said that this was their home, they weren't leaving.
All in all it was good to see them :)

I used to go all the time but now days it’s hard to drag me out ;)
Glad you were able to go!!
Good morning Dale, Rat2 and Sara

July 17th will be my 7th yr anniversary at my job I will get my 3rd week of vacation on that date :banana:Will be nice to have 5 more days, this is the 2nd longest I have been with a company
Joey, that's awesome!!! ...and Happy Father's Day!!

Well, I'm on my laptop, and there's a bit of a learning curve to replying to quotes. Somehow it pulls text out from the quote and I keep having to use the "undo" thingie! Grrrr.

Lovely Sunday buffet and quotes Dale
No idea where my time goes, but this weekend has flown by.
Laundry and house cleaning yesterday, dinner out last night with four others from here...we're the kids here  I should have grabbed a picture. Great people.
We didn't meet at the restaurant until 7, and thankfully it had cooled off and there was a nice breeze, so it was very comfortable eating outside. They had live entertainment (one man singing), and he did a great job. All songs we knew, very laid back vibe...as most everything is here.
"Dressing up" entails sparkly flip flops, otherwise, Pine Island casual is good anywhere here except The Tarpon Lodge, and then just normal casual is just fine.
After we got home (maybe 8:30) we took Mimi for a golf cart ride around the community, she LOVES it, and is totally addicted and expects it every single evening. We don't mind really, it's a relaxing way to end the evening...after that, we (DH, Mimi & I) sat outside under the carport, IN FRONT OF THE FAN, and listened to some music.

It's been raining buckets, with thunder and lightening, off and on all day. We were even under a tornado warning for awhile, but we didn't know it.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday and Father's Day, headed of to cross stitch. ;)

I did get a pretty good picture of the sunset, night before last.
Then I saw an absolutely gorgeous picture posted on Facebook on the sunsets group... totally blew mine away.
ETA - I was taking that through a screened window in our sunroom, not great quality.

Sounds like a great community and definitely a lot of fun, Lori. Those sunsets are absolutely gorgeous!

I spoke too soon, Joey, the smoke haze was back today. I noticed it coming home from breakfast (south towns to north towns) It doesn’t sound like it will be as bad as it was and the only news I could find on it was out of Syracuse. It was very weird, you could see the white fluffy clouds through the gray haze.

Awwww look at that little doll, Dale. Love those pants!

I needed to keep real busy yesterday so I burned two huge brush piles down at my aunt. It was a wonderful day to do it and worked out well because today we have hard rains and thunderstorms. They are calling for that all week. Yuck. I guess we need it though.

Not sure what possessed me to buy white cheddar crackers at Aldi's this morning. I say I have been going in there to see how hard it is raining but the truth is. . . I keep grabbing a handful of those crackers. View attachment 997216

Hope everyone is having a great day.

OMgosh. How gorgeous. I absolutely love sunrises and sunsets. I take sunrise pictures because it reminds me that it is the start of a new day and I love sunsets because it makes me grateful for the day I have had.
