Had a good day. After calling nursing homes, thrift stores, and Salvation Army I finally found someone who wanted my box of paperback books by Barbara Cartland. My mom loved her books and read all the time. The library in the next town over was thrilled to get the books to add to their collection. The ones that were duplicates would be sold at their yard sale to purchase more books. My library said they were not interested. But I am pleased. There were 232 books. These were downstairs. I tossed all the ones in the attic.

As I was going through my craft stuff, I heard a huge noise in the kitchen. Ken came in there and told me he had caught a mouse. I had never seen one in the house before so I jumped up and ran in there. I think he thought I would get all upset. He does not know me that well yet because when something like that happens I go into a different mode. I figure out what can be done. He said he caught the mouse under a big empty pot that was on the stove. I told him to stand back and I put a plastic cutting board under the pot so I could trap the mouse and of course, let him go outside.

I started to lift the pot and Ken tried to boo me and scare me which did not work because I was in problem solving mode. He then started to lift the pot which I told him not to do. He did it anyway and under the pot was a mouse. The damn mouse to my laptop. He busted out laughing. I did not really find the humor in it at the time. I smiled at him and asked him where he was sleeping tonight and then left the room to resume cleaning out the rest of my crafts. I can laugh about it now.

I fixed chicken alfredo with broccoli, salad, and garlic bread. Pretty tasty if I say so myself. Ken had a big bowl at supper and just now fixed him another bowl to eat so I guess he liked it too. That or he was trying to make it up to me about the practical joke.

Since I went to the dollar store, bank, post office and library today and then came home and fixed supper, I am tired and I think I am going to go read. I only slept a couple of hours last night so tonight should be better.

Hope everyone feels better and gets a good night's sleep.

Good morning lurking TARTARA ;)

Thanks, Dale. Hope yours is going well. Did some cleaning and dug all the gifts out/paper and am about to tackle that task. After I finish my turkey sammich

I love having days off. Less to stress about, unless you count the two gifts I couldn't find. I must have looked everywhere, twice. Noticed a bag on one of peninsula stools and all this time thinking that's one of Dh's packages, I shouldn't look just in case. Bwahahahaha. I finally did and voila, my two missing gifts. I'm such a doofus.

split a ribeye
We ate the same thing! Mine was scrumptious. Ken grilled them out. There is just something about charcoal grilling. We got 3 and ended up splitting one because they were huge. I am going to freeze the other two for a night I do not feel like cooking.

Dale, I am so glad you are feeling better and Sara, no fever is wonderful. It sure seems like everyone I know is sick or talking about their grandkids being sick. It is that time of year I guess. I may need to get myself some Elderberry and start taking it so maybe I will stay well. A friend told me it was great to build your immune system.

Hope everyone continues getting better and has a wonderful weekend.

    Good evening ladies

We were supposed to have pork chops and mashed potatoes but I was too lazy  So we had leftovers of whatever was in the fridge. I'll throw the chops in the crockpot tomorrow. That is funny you two had the same.

I have heard good stuff about Elderberry too. We have gummy supplements here and I've been making sure to include them with daily vitamins, though I'm sure the syrup is much better for you.

    ‘It’s a little early.
I agree. Ken played the sound of a snowstorm ALL night long. He said it was supposed to help people sleep. It did NOT!

But it was a nice try.

    Have a happy Saturday.
