    Hiya Dale :)

Grilled cheese are on our menu this week ;) Never had chili cheese.

I paid for a pizza for dinner. Otherwise someone else would be cooking tonight lol
No I meant we had bowls of chili and a grilled cheese sandwich. ;)

Glad you didn’t have to cook, it gets old. I would hardly ever cook if it wasn’t for DH .

I had an absolutely wonderful day!

After Jay canceled last night, I text him and told him exactly what I was upset over and he said we would talk today. This morning he texted me and I politely said there was nothing to talk about and nothing either of us should feel bad about. I thanked him for everything and told him I would not be bothering him again.

He texted again and I said no but the third time he asked so nicely, I told him I had tried to give him an easy out but if he felt the need to talk to me to call me before he came. Which he did.

We had a very nice conversation and agreed Saturday night was a misunderstanding on both our parts. He took full blame for Sunday and apologized. He said he could promise me that it would never happen again. I think it takes a big man to admit he was wrong and to apologize. I cannot remember my ex-husband ever apologizing and normally he would turn everything around and put the blame on me. Grrr

So anyway, I told him I was going to think about things and he said he would continue to call and ask me out unless I told him to stop. The honest truth is that I do not know what I want but I am sure of what I do not want. I do not know where this will go but I know that I like the way he talks to me and makes me feel. So we will see.

Oops, I did not finish my wonderful day. When Jay was getting ready to leave, I told him I was going to get out dad's big mower and try to mow the yard. He said he knew I could do it.

Understand that this mower is a commercial, diesel mower that is huge with a 60 inch cut. I have never driven a zero-turn anything and dad would never let me learn. I was a little scared when I first got on and was trying back it out. There are only a couple of inches on each side of the mower because his shed is so packed full with stuff.

I am glad no one was there watching me back it out because I had a hard time. After I got started, it became easier to maneuver and even a little bit of fun. I ended up mowing the entire yard. Then I did all the trim work and edging. I was busy today and it felt good. I believe I will be able to mulch the leaves this year without doing all that push mowing that dad had me do.

So now that was my wonderful day and as tired as I am, I may have a wonderful night and sleep well. I can't tell you how many times I have yawned while typing this. heehee I think I may go get started on my wonderful night.

    to all.

    Good morning lurkers

Rat2, I am glad you guys talked. Sounds like it ended on a positive note and going forward things will be better. :) Hope you slept well.

Hahah Dale, I’m sorry, looking back I realized somehow I read that wrong.  But now I’m thinking grilled chili cheese might be tasty…messy but tasty. Lol.

Me too. I feel optimistic about it. Not so much if Jay and I will become an item, but it made me feel positive about myself. I did not make excuses for the other person just to try to make them feel better. I have been that way for as long as I can remember. I am not saying that is the wrong way to be but it is when it has an impact on your own self-esteem. Not sure I can explain that one clearly enough for anyone to understand. But anyway, I think it was good.

And I slept the best I think I have in years. I would do a happy dance right now but I am also the stiffest I've been in a long time. heehee As the morning progresses that will ease up and the coffee is doing it's magic right now.

    Have a great day.

Good morning Sara and Rat2

Oh Sara! Do you have any idea how sickening that sandwich idea sounds at 6 a.m. ?

I‘m glad you were able to work things out Rat2. Sounds like you’re standing up for what you want now. Really happy you are getting better sleep, I know you haven’t for many years.

After my coffee, I got busy going through one of dad's junk closets. It is amazing how much someone can cram into a closet. A bunch of car manuals (because he worked on everyone's cars and equipment), diagnostic things that I have no idea what they do, a cordless drill which I used to hang a picture and at the very top of the closet I found my father's stash of dirty magazines back from the '80s. Thinking back on the way my parents treated each other, I was not surprised but I am grateful that he had forgotten about them.

I bought Jay a gift for trimming my bushes and got so excited when Amazon delivered them at 8:15 pm, that I jumped up and opened the front door without thinking about that I now have a security system. Yep! My first false alarm. I quickly disarmed it but I would not be surprised if the neighbors heard the sirens. Scared the bejesus out of me.

Jay called today and said he was going down to my friends house to help her husband and wanted to know if I wanted to go with him. I thought that was so nice and a great way to spend time with him since he is always so busy. Too bad I could not go but I thanked him for thinking of me and that I hoped he would do it again in the future. Now if he had asked me to go to lunch, I would have probably rearranged my schedule. heehee Food trumps everything.

Even with all that, it was a good day!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.

    Good morning lurkers

Rat2, you just reminded me of my own mishap with the alarm. I am a total newb with security systems, even today. We always set it when no one is home, but rarely overnight. Dh was out of town, so I did set it before bed for added peace of mind. Early in the morning, Lucy woke me to go potty. I know the garage door and the front have sensors. I’ve come home before and set it off letting myself in but you run to the keypad and enter the code. No biggie.

Lucy was still a new member of the family and we didn’t have the electric fence yet, so we put her on a long leash and stayed outside with her. We also didn’t have the pool yet and were taking her out back through the french doors. For whatever reason, I think because it isn’t considered a main entrance, the sensor triggers a different kind of response? Unbeknownst to me.

I open the door and and the deafening shriek goes off. This should have triggered something in my brain because you normally get a beeping countdown allowing you time to shut it off on the keypad after entering a “main entrance”but I was half asleep. I quickly ran over and punched in the code to silence it. Get her outside and on this particular morning she decides to take her time finding just the right spot. This next part is a little hazy. I don’t carry my phone everywhere all the time and when the alarm company couldn’t reach me, they dispatched the Sheriffs to my house. I can’t remember if they called a second time, or I picked the phone up and saw the missed call. I spoke with them and hurried out front to meet the officer pulling into my driveway.

    Ahhh memories lololol.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Dale, Sara, Rat2 and lurkers

I recently put in a security system, we have set it off a few times disabled it right away so no calls or cops lol. My daughter doesn't like the sound she says it hurts her ears. I don't think it is that loud lol.

I'm not liking the new 2nd shift hrs, working with people I hardly know is not good for me anymore lol. I have become very anti-social as I get older lol. For 4 hrs I work with 1st shift, next 4 hrs with people from my old shift. So many rumors at work being spread about everything is just annoying to me ughh!!!

Hope you all have a great day :w00t:

    Hey Joey
In some ways I’m antisocial and in other ways I’m not. Pretty sure it’s mostly because of my hearing.

We had Chinese takeout for supper.

    Good evening lurkers

Since you all enjoyed that one so much here’s another.

When it’s windy, it gets very windy here. We have gone through 2 glass top dining tables in the first 7 years of living here, pre pool and before Lucy. Well, one had broken on the deck and we simply didn’t have time to get it cleaned up the same day. So we left it, damage already done, right?

Unfortunately the last person to be outside inspecting the damage left the french door unlocked. Ha! No, it was not me. ;) Next day we go to work/school set alarm and of course it was windy again. Blew the door open and set off the shrieking alarm. Company does get a hold of my husband and he flies home, to find a state trooper inspecting the place. He saw all the glass from the table and thought someone had broken in. He searched the entire house before DH got home.

First home improvement we made to the house was to get rid of the builder grade french doors. They were so poorly made that the top corner would blow in and there would be a gap for snow, rain to come in. We now have a slider rated for hurricane winds, even though we don’t have hurricanes here.

Ohhh Joey, that really stinks to work in the middle. I remember the rivalry, gossip and trouble between shifts.

We had chicken stir fry again. Mmm. This time I made jasmine rice in the instant pot.
