Not much excitement happening today. I dug around the dogwood stump. It is bigger than the ones I have done before. I was getting pretty tired of using the mattocks and switched to the axe because it was a little lighter. I was getting ready to try to pull it up with the truck when my new squeeze called me. He told me he planned to come over tonight to see me and had a chain in his truck. His is a 4-wheel drive so it might make a difference.

He offered. I did not ask him to help me. He just asked me what I was doing when he called. It is probably time I let people help me, especially when they offer. I've just always had to do everything by myself or with someone telling me what to do.

Oh well, another day in the life of The Rat. View attachment 1000193

    Good evening lurkers

Hopefully all went well with your physical and you are feeling a bit better, Rat2.
It was pretty bad when I woke up but it has gotten better as the day went on.

My physical went very well, I think. I talked her into letting me stop taking BP meds last year so she was pleased that mine was 106/58. I really think walking helps. Plus I am not near as stressed out as I used to be.

I was scared of checking out because I was not sure what it would cost without insurance. I don't think they charge as much when you don't have it. I am not complaining. It was $141.00. I asked how much the 4 blood tests were going to be and she said that included everything. I think that was reasonable. I am 99.9% sure they charged a lot more when I had insurance. Oh well, I was grateful.

    Good evening Rat2
Yes they do cut the charge when you don’t have insurance.

103 here right now and no one is interested in supper which is a good thing because I’m certainly not interested in preparing it.

Nothing wrong with letting Ken help with the stump, that’s quite a chore!

    good evening ladies

Oh my gosh, thank goodness tomorrow is Friday, this week has really kicked my .... Just kidding, but I am tired lol

I agree, take Ken up on his offer. Bonus, you'll get to spend extra time with him!

I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to cook, Dale. Kiddo made the school soccer team, and practices started tonight. 5-6:30, so I was on my own for dinner. I made an egg and mushroom burrito.

I'm gonna go rest my tootsies. Have a nice evening y'all!

I‘m sure going back was hard, at least there’s just tomorrow before your weekend ;)

Congratulations to kiddo, there was never any doubt :)

I had peanut butter toast. Somewhere in our area there was a rather violent thunderstorm, all we got was some heavy thunder :( Cooled off to 90 tho’.

    Have a pleasant evening Sara.

He did come over after work and it only took him 30 minutes to get the stump pulled up and he is even going to take the stump off for me. I would have gotten it done. I was halfway there but it sure was nice to see someone else swing the axe. I would have worked another half a day.

He brought stuff with him to spend the night so he took a shower and we went back to the place where he took me before that had such good quesadilla's. This time I got their onion rings too. Oh my. The best around here. I bought his supper to thank him for what he did. It made me feel better.

I was rather disappointed when he said he was going to have to work Saturday and Sunday. See what I mean? He just works too much. It is a good trait though in a man. I was sad about it until he told me he was going to have a long weekend for Labor Day. He asked me to go to Chattanooga TN because he still wants his family to meet me for some reason. This is going to be a short trip distance-wise. He said it would only take 5 1/2 hours to get there. Of course, you know I said I would go.

Got up early so I could send my friend off with a full tummy. Fixed him french toast (glad I remembered how to make it) and fried apples. He ate it all so it must have been edible. It is nice having my coffee with a friend. A good way to start the day.

I have more poison oak breaking out this morning. Grrrr He said he had some too so I might have gotten it when I was helping him weed that nice couple's house. He thought it was so nice that I had sent them a thank you card. What does he expect from a proper Southern girl?
    1laugh.gif
He said Gladys was going to love it because she sat him down before he left to come here to work and told him she hoped he found a good girl to date. She told him to find her in a church and he found me at a bar but what the heck. . . he found me.

Happy Fri-Yay, Rat2 and lurkers

You poor thing having to deal with another outbreak :( Hopefully it calms down quickly. Glad the stump is gone.

Hopefully it stays a bit cooler for you, Dale. At least for a little while. We had a light show here but I dozed off before I could enjoy it.

Thanks girls :) He’s pretty excited. The next 60ish days are going to be super busy with 2 games a week.

    Have a great day!!

Good evening! Happy the day is over

Yeeesh, she better not get engaged

We'll get lucky timewise. JV games start between 4 and 6:30 with the majority of them around 5/5:30. If he makes Varsity, next year we may not be as lucky.

Hope everyone had a nice day!
    Good evening Sara
‘Isn’t that what meeting the family is all about? Being vetted and all ;)

Oh well I guess those times won’t be too bad.

‘DH and I are both still picking at stuff in the refrigerator, not really hungry. I’ll probably have to do some cooking this weekend though as the refrigerator is mostly empty now.

    Good morning Dale

Lol! I remember when Dh and I were dating, he took me on “the” road trip…..showing me where he grew up etc (same one we did last month with kiddo) First stop was the drive thru for iced capps. Halfway through reminiscing I needed to hit the ladies room. The next thing I know he’s pulling into someone’s driveway…….and I got to meet his parents that day :lol::lol: I was mortified.

Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day today! Hope it’s a good one for everybody:)
