I am so ticked about this. Everyone raves about vapage customer service...humph. I ordered what I though were slant coil atomizers and I put a note in the comments asking them to PLEASE BE SURE I was getting the new slant coil atomizer. Did they contact me and tell me I ordered the wrong thing? No. Why have a comments box at all if you are not going to read it! They should separate the 2 different atomizers into 2 different product pages.

Feel your pain, tlynn. I would contact Vapage directly. Please let us know?

Meanwhile... a little trip down memory lane. Here's some "I wanna be an XL when I grow up" porn...

This is an original VMOD.

I think they rave because CS is very *responsive*. They have been for me. Emails get answered fast, orders are sent out correctly, etc. and on phone they are real nice folks. So they got that part right.

However, I will add this: I agree that *some* of the staff needs to be a little more *technically* trained. I did get the feeling there could be better understanding of all the tech aspects of the atties, the batts and chargers, etc. A lot of CS people are order-pullers.....which is fine. Their job is to get stuff pulled and off to you according to what you ask for.

IN the case of selling technical stuff, like cameras, or ecig stuff, I would like to see people who really understand the product. And, some do over there. It just depends on who you "get" when asking questions. :)

I know this is a little off topic from the past couple of posts...

But if you haven't tried Super Shorty 1.7 Ohm 510 Chrome Cartomizer these little bad boys. Do yourself a favor a pick up a few. They are short just like the description says. Actually, about 1 cm or so shorter than the vapage silos. So you'll want a longer drip tip if you have it. But these little babies hit like a truck. Perfect for bottom feeders because you don't have all that excess filler.

I'd like to know if anyone else has had an opportunity to try them yet....

Had a nice surprise when I got home yesterday!!

Vmod XL has arrived.

Apparently, I should have jumped on the bottom feeding mods a long time ago! It doesnt get any easier than this.

Im really happy with my purchase.

Even running 1.5 I am definitely going to be installing my kick when it gets in. I like a little more power as Im so use to my darwin.

Besides that this thing is great. Its much smaller than I expected for some reason and fits very comfortable in my hand.

If anyone is on the fence about getting one of these I would highly recommend it. I now remember why I love atties, but the pain of dripping put me off for a while. With this mod its so easy.... After one night of use I dont even think about squeezing the bottle, It just happens.

Just tilt and vape.

Change battery every day fill juice every 2 days and done. Never actually had a bad enough day to kill 9ml of juice in a day. Ok never brave enough just to take one mod to work with me but if I were to this would be the one I would take.

Oh Dont worry, my darwin is sitting next to me at work. But Im trying to just use the vmod today to see how long the battery lasts.

Have a battery question on the Vmod- I know it is highly suggested to get a better battery, due to the fact that the included battery is not so good. What is the issue with the included battery? Is it not able to provide the needed voltage to the atomizer under load, or is it that the battery doesn't last as long as it should?
Reason I ask is that I have the Vmpd XL and a Shifu atomizer (1.5 ohm), when I put the atomizer on my ego twist at 3.8 v, i get a good hit, but on the Vmod (with the battery reading 3.9 V on my meter), it is a much cooler hit. Any insight on this? Should I bother metering the atomizer connection in the vmod when I press the button, to make sure the correct voltage is being provided to the atomizer?
Also, what is a good recommended battery to use in the Vmod?

apples and oranges;
the Twist battery voltage is different from the voltage to the atomizer (3.8v). It's a VV (variable) that boosts the voltage from it's low 3.3 to 4.x. The XL is not VV. it only puts out what the battery will do and that reduces as the battery discharges. The XL has no boost or chip that will raise the voltage to the atomizer. It's voltage to the atomizer is around 3.4v.
hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply- if I meter my VMOD battery right now, it shows 3.9 V, so shouldn't the performance be the same or better on my Vmod vs my Twist set at 3.8 V?

No.. theres a lot more to this, but not being a techie....
Any non boosted (VV or Hi voltage) pv has been called a "3.7 mod" in the past. It must be what they designate the battery potential, but not it what actually hits the atomizer.
THe true voltage to the atomizer on the XL, as i said, is around 3.4v. Which btw should be and i reapeat "should" be enough for the 1.5 shifu. Have you metered the shifu? it may be wrong and really a 2.x Ohm.

Interesting. I haven't metered the shifu, but will do so when I get home. I bought two of them and find the same performance with both of them.
Have had nothing but issues with atomizers and my Vmod so far. Poor performance on the Vmod, better performance on the twist. Juice feeding is tricky (I use gorilla juice which is really thick, so not sure if this could be the culprit), draw is tighter than I would like on the Vmod. I find myself using the Vmod less and just using my Ego battery and dripping, which is inconvenient, to say the least.
Thanks for your reply.

bottom feeding is like dripping, but harder to get precise amount of juice to atomizer which is the most important thing (granted you have the atomizer resistance ratio to the voltage correct.)
dripping is a skill that takes time. there's lots to be said about that, but main thing imo is to not overfeed the atomizer. if you have too little juice you can always add more. too much and you have to take off the atty and blow from the connector and start over.

I love the shifu (for the price); it is easier and more consistent than that the HH357 imo. I had to loosen the collar and the cone to help the draw, but with that you can get used to it.

It's good to have options... use them both (and more) and just know that nothing is a waste of time; it all adds up in experience and skill :)

i hear you; on both the stocking up and the draw.
With the 50 off i got 5 paks.
I think they are great. Slightly less than the hh357 in flavor, but in vapor production and almost never miss sure firing (as long as the voltage to resistance is right), they are tops. (The flavor is better than most. comparable to Avid's cisco Aero)
These atomizers seem to work better in an open connector ymmv, but I just loosen the collar as far as possible without unthreading, and somewhat the same for the outer cone. THere might be a better fix with the orings etc in the chamber but i wouldn't know.
Loosening as above is a small improvement but once you get used to it, it feels normal.
I bought a 10 (20 atty) of the new hybrids and trying a pair out it seems to suffer on tight draw after a few hours of vaping. anybody found a solution?? I'm worried that the rest will be the same.

The only thing i can think of is that on the XL : the draw is tight which if extreme can be a problem, which you can help with loosening things, but other than that, it could be too much juice. Overfeeding will minimize vapor. Generally the shifu can take a lot of juice before it's flooded.
THe trick with bottom feeders is getting the right amount of juice.
Vapge batts will work fine; just not as good as the AW IMR combined with an LR atomizer.
You won't find a huge difference; it's just the quality, and the slight improvement of an IMR hi drain batt with LR atomizers which can produce the voltage a low resistance atomizer draws better than a protected Li ion batt.
IMR chemistry is known as safe chemistry so with AW there is less concern for batts going and doing bad things....

I was looking at this device from Super T, which is sort of like making anything into a bottom feeder, so to speak, in that topic I asked about it, and Dantes Inferno provided me this You Tube video...........one I saw it I realized what would IMPROVE THE VMODXL by about 100%-------have the mod accept the regular bottle that our juice comes in!!! Like this one does. I think it's the cat's pajamas:

Electronic Cigarette VapeMate - YouTube

I absolutely hate moving things from one bottle to another. Making a bottle opening that FITS the bottles our juice already comes in cuts out a step for the end-user. I love it.

May have to get one of these for my ego twists, yeah, it's a little clunky but lightweight so......

some love those, and some don't.... i fall into the latter; i got one of those a long while back... and i'm sticking with bottom feeders.
Actually top feeding IS the cats pajams but i had trouble gauging the amount of drip and there's some issues with vacuum which some call "auto feed"...
