I was foggy on who else was involved in the tootle-puffer jest -- now I know a little more than I did! I just recall darling Kat starting the puffer thread I *think* shortly after the 15mil contest... or was it just before? I remember it was already going strong when we had the software changeover. One of the biggest rants at the start of it was "no pool noodles!"

I have no idea who used the term first, but I do remember my exchange with Croak, a year ago, because it made me laugh uncontrollably.

Yes, I believe that the proper term would be "egocentric". And I have it on good authority that you are indeed not egocentric..

Well... maybe just a little. But what I think she really meant was "psychopathic"... she just doesn't understand the difference between "psychotic" and "psychopathic"... which is really irrelevant, since I'm neither! But she is, very sadly, one of those people who is all surface and very little substance -- she won't go to the grocery store without a full makeup/hairdo deal.... which totally baffles me. Why would I care what people at Walmart think of how I look? I have to wonder if she's ever actually LOOKED at people in Walmart. I figure I'm ahead of that ballgame if I'm wearing clean clothing that doesn't reveal parts of me that no one wants to see!

Because without it, the people who just want to watch the world burn would go unchecked and then there would be chaos. For example, the other day, I was out, just walking about alternating listening to The Hanson's "MmmBop" and the Captain and Tennille's "Muskrat Love" over and over on my ipod (you have to mix the groovy songs with the classics) and diggin the city vibe. I walked into this used record, cd and dvd store and there were these two hipsters milling about. They were stealth vaping and looking through the use movies. One of them said to the guy behind the counter "Got any super hero movies? The counter guy tossed them a movie from behind the counter and said "Just got this in." One of the said to the other one "Hey, I haven't seen this, lets get this. It's only $2!" The other one was like "Me either! Cool!" So I look over and see the first guy is holding a copy of the Green Lantern movie. I ran over, snatched the DVD case from his hands, cracked it open. I snapped the DVD in half and said "You can thank me boys. I just saved you from wanting to commit suicide after you would have realized you'd never get that 2 hours back." Then I turned to the counter guy and said "What's wrong with you? Why are you handing out that kind of trash? Don't you care about your customers?" Let people like the counter guy, Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein go unchecked and the world is a hideous place.

There's a website devoted to the oddness that shows up at Walmart, and frankly it makes me worry for our country with some of the stuff you see..
Some people are really caught up in making sure they look good when in public. The wife of a friend of mine wouldn't set foot out of their tent when camping without full hair and makeup. Perhaps she was related somewhere to your mom?
