I spoke with Pedro about this a couple of weeks ago and resuming everything it comes down to:
Probably safe: shiny, yellow and blue
Probably a bad idea: grey and dull
There is always TiO2 present. The main difference is the adhesion strength to the base metal and APPARENTLY grey and dull layers come off rather easily as opposed to shiny, yellow and blue.
I actually was surprised when I read the above post quoting Pedro because the conversation was 90% equal to what I had with him two weeks ago
