A quick follow-up now that I'm home for good and have some time to focus on this.
  1. The spring loaded pin in my USA OM is pretty deep, I don't think the Marquis was making good contact on it. I tightened up the center screw, then nudged the positive wire on the inside of the OM. Now reading it in at .108ish. That's much better.
  2. Tore out the first build, which was actually still kinda blue. Probably could have used it but whatever I need the experience.
  3. Did the exact same build as last night, dual 26g 5 wraps. This time I wrapped them in contact and let the torque of the screws space them out, instead of spacing the wire manually. Came out perfect at .117.
  4. SX350J read it in at .138. I might need to check my solders next time the batteries are out o_O.
  5. Heated up evenly and didn't glow like the damn sun this time since the resistance was locked in at a lower value, lol.
  6. Set temp to 300F and power to 40J. Works like a charm, though I'm not sure how accurate the TC is. Seems to get pretty rough and not even near the temp limit. Feel free to chime in if I should have it set much lower.
All in all, it's some of the easiest wire to work with I've ever used. Surprisingly a lot easier to cut than I thought it would be. I think I might build another dripper and roll with these for a week to get a feel for it before I build gennies. Then again, it's a lazy Sunday, so I might just build everything :D.

Ok I got a question. I get a perfect spaced coil placed and do a couple of pulses at 5w and it makes the coil shrink and the spaces disappear got an answer. Should I not pulse it?
Not that my opinion matters since I just started building with Ti...

I did notice that the coils I built in both my Marquis and Raptor heated nicely with no extra work. Which is nice, they are both hard enough to build without worrying about TC functionality. In fact the Marquis sat on the shelf for a while because of how badly it worked with Ni.

So what's the problem? Does it glow from the inside out? I pulse mine at about 10 to 15 watts, compress them then wick it and with the cotton dry I see at what temperature I can go up to without burning the cotton or rayon. Are you having problems with the Ti coils burning your cotton?

No but I space them back out which is a pain in the ..... Just wondering if I should just put them on and wick them and start vaping. So you are using contact coils? How many wraps with 26 at 3mm. I'm not sure if I put a spaced coil in which works so well if I should place it on and start vaping at a low J and temp or what. I love the vape with the spaced coils but when they shrink up like that it is a pain.

Yea I'm using contact Spider Silk 26 gauge Ti coils. I'm using anywhere from a 2.5-3.0 mm bit to wrap em usually 7-9 wraps get me around .30 to .45 ohms. Even when I was using spaced Ti coils I never noticed them shrink. Maybe it's the brand of Ti you're using? I prefer contact over spaced to keep more of the coil inline with the air hole in these small RTA decks.

You aren't really doing that are you heating them till they glow from the inside out. What color are they after you do that?
They get this thick yellow crust on them then after that I pulse them at 80 watts and inhale the smoke coming from the white hot coil. LOL, JK, they barely glow, a real dark red. And after pulsing them they have blue golden red colors along the coil.

Your pulling my leg which I don't have right? Well I've got 3/4 of them left. Pulling my stump right?
Do NOT pulse your coils til they glow bright red. Dark red is ok. If after pulsing you coils take on different colors like blue, red and gold you're OK. Yes I was just kidding about hitting my coils with 80 watts. When I do a double twisted 26 gauge Ti build, the coil barely glows at 15 watts because of the mass of it. I have gotten contact coils to work with Ti on my DNA and Yihi( IPV4) devices. Did the update on my IPV4. Your poor doggy lost his legs!!!??? WTF

If the post holes are over-drilled they will act like wire cutters. Add the little cup effect that threading produces on the end of the screw and you have a perfect wire cutter. I stuff the post holes with nickel wire and grind the ends of the screws flat. Good, solid, connections and no cut wire.
Same here but I stuff my post holes with silver wire. I like to think I'm special because of it lol :D

What wire is it? I find it very odd Ti contracting with heat. I never experienced anything like that. There is nothing in Ti that reacts that way. Are you sure it's grade 1?

Wish @Duane was back to give an insight about this. I'm going to drop him a note so he can see this when he returns.

Yikes, amen to being above ground. I had to quit doing some really dumb things to my body about a year ago so I could stay among the living and out of jails and institutions. Finally quit smoking about 7 months ago. Mods atty's and juices are my new vices.

well not sure if it shrinks but the coils pull together. It is from Vape Mesh which has worked up till now I think I just heated it up too much. I am pretty sure their wire is good.

Do you have another brand of Ti you can compare to?

When you torch it, it can change color, it can become dull, it can form TiO2, heck it even can ignite if the wire is extremely thin but contraction? I just don't see how.
